Overland Park being a suburb of Kansas City for those who don't know.

And for all we know we moved to Overland Park at the age of 9 or something (he can clarify if he wants) which would put me in not even wrong territory.

In addition to assuming I don’t know where i’m from, you’re also assuming I don’t know anything about what it means to be gay or the gay experience. Overland Park, conditions have improved. I did not live there as a child. But overland park was once considered a conservative utopia. Johnson county( and Overland park) went over a 100 years without voting for a democrat including voting against FDR 4 times!

But yes, you tell me what it was like to be gay in overland park 10 years ago.

Also, you tell everyone else what it’s like to be trans. The real experts on trans issues are trans people which is why conservatives want to make inhospitable spaces so that trans persons can’t tell their experiences. Just as the real experts on what it means to be. black are black people.

Get your contrarian, conspiracy-addicted, flirting-constantly-with-the-right, transphobic ass out of here. And then take it to Sandy Hook Elementary and look in the faces of the dead kids' parents and apologize to them.

There are certain parts of kansas I avoid. But now I can go to those towns and say something like “ I am a perfectly healthy cisgender man and the woke mob tried to say i’m trans just because I like nail polish and am gay. But I saw through their lies! I’ll never be a woman. Now me and johnny are going to have some anti-woke cisgender not woke gay sex in the barn. Thanks for fighting femboy erasure my fellow kansans”

Johnny sounds like a top.

Lots of lies here

I never assumed you didn't know where you from. I assumed you were playing up the Kansas angle despite growing up in the suburbs, which maybe I'm wrong about maybe not (I'm pretty sure I've seen you reference Overland Park from like 2005.

I have never tried to tell you what it's like to be gay, but believe it or not I actually have gay friends from Kansas City, and have even been to gay bars in the early 2000s myself there, so I do have a decent idea that it's not the conservative hellhole you make it out to be

I don't think we're in Kansas any more, Toto.

Overland Park, especially historically, is not kansas city. You are just speculating about something you know nothing about and are wrong about in response to one of the few jokes posted on here on this issue which wasn’t more or less about how funny it is to misgender trans people. That could be a whole separate topic but i’ll leave it at that.

This guy is saying that Bryce is making up his own life story. A strong claim. "Lots of lies", he says.

What is his basis for all of this? His own goddamn memory. You read that right.

Also, ol' Alex "Luckbox" Jones was in a place 20 years ago, therefore it obviously can't be the place you say it is now!

Dude you're out of your mind now.

I lived in Overland Park. Then I moved 6 miles away, to Kansas City. While living in Kansas City the state line was 3 miles away. I would drive to Kansas to go to the grocery store.

As a heterosexual male, I can confirm that we spend 9 months trying to get out, and the remainder of our lives trying to get back in.

I could go from where I lived near Metcalf and 78th in Overland Park, and be at work in downtown Kansas City in 11 minutes.

11 minutes. When I actually moved to Kansas City my commute was longer because I couldn't take 35.

Are you ever going to tell us why you're so obsessed with making sure that kids died?

I swear to god the use of "they" as a singular is not some new grammatical development.

Yep. When discussing a true crime case once, I stated that "the killer" had tracked their blood in with the victim's.

I am not wrong. I lived in other parts of kansas while I was a poster here by the way. I have also recently made a post about how much better my neighborhood has gotten in this regard. Also, that is the poorer area of overland park. But I don’t want to have a 1000 post discussion about why you are wrong and my experiences everytime I write a pro-trans post.

confirmed.

Overland Park (OH-vər-lend PARK) is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States,[1] and the second-most populous city in the state of Kansas.[6] It is one of four principal cities in the Kansas City metropolitan area; along with being more densely populated than and the largest suburb of Kansas City, Missouri.[7][8][9] As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 197,238.[10][4][5]

You don't have to tell me it is a poor area. I lived there. Then I moved to south KC which is also poor.

This Overland Park debate is FASCINATING.

I'm also an Overland Park EXPERT. Spent a week there in 2000 or so. Hereford House, delish.

Im also a kansas city expert. I have watched wizzard of oz a gazillion times. I know what dorothys ass looks like the vest of my pocket.

The fact that I hung out with dirty dorothy at a gay bar a mere 30 minutes from my home and literally saw his butthole(true) pretty much confirms there has never been a history of homophobia in kansas, especially the rich republican suburbs.

by Luckbox Inc P

I do definitely remember using "s/he" in writing but also am pretty sure that "someone left their wallet here let's go track them down" is also completely fine and not some new thing.

I scored Sats for college board in 2012. You were told to take off a point for grammar if they was used singularly. That's a fact

No has has said that there isn't homophobia in Kansas or in the suburbs in general. The claim is that you specifically play up the Kansas angle when Overland Park isn't going to be too different from any American suburb anywhere-- given how suburbs are basically all the same.

Then the college board was wrong, as luckbox already demonstrated with an example. There are COUNTLESS examples throughout history of they/them being used as singular pronouns.

I do enjoy the right's endless battle with the English language, though, so, whatever, keep it up.

I have never played up anything. I also have had a variety of experiences over the last 15 years. You are cherry picking a few correct posts that I made. I have made many positive posts about where I live too. But no, that is not something I do. My experiences are very real, and you are just incorrect.
