Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
IT will probably be the PA imo. Not because anyone wants them there; they don't. They're the only ones willing.

--I think you are discounting how radicalized Gaza is and how widely the PA is viewed for being perceived as Zionist collaborators. The PA is not wanted at all in Gaza and they know it. Anyone they sent there would be in extreme danger, probably not too different than Israeli troops. Why do you think they are even willing? I haven't read anything to that effect.

"Only 11% of Palestinian voiced satisfaction with PA President Mahmoud Abbas."

The way things are going Hamas has a better chance of taking control of the West Bank than the PA taking over Gaza.

I am fully aware they're viewed as collaborators and Israel doesn't trust them. That doesn't mean they aren't pretty much the only option though.

They are preferred to Israeli occupation or Israel placing their own authorities there. Otherwise we're looking at USA led coalition, also unpopular. There are no popular options, they are no options that anyone wants.

Do you have any indication the PA would even want to do this? I assume they would perceive it as a no win suicide mission and have no interest. Do you have any information to the contrary?

The second article is about why the PA is not in a position to govern, which I agree with, but it still suggests that the idea is being discussed.

So far it is the only somewhat realistic option being considered imo.

A meeting was apparently held between some other Palestinian groups on this, and Sinwar is said to have lost his mind in anger. I think that any group that comes in that isn't powerful, respected, and well armed, is going to get run over by the remainders of Hamas.

On that topic, right now it's about a 50 to 1 kill rate on Hamas vs IDF fighters. At that rate maybe this thing does have an end. Apparently the 2 big Hamas miscalculations were how well the IDF would manage in the tunnels, and how many (or how few) other militia groups would join the fight.

Btw the reason you come try to run Gaza is simple: $$$

Qatar probably would want it. I have to think that's why they are pretending to be Switzerland in this

But i wouldn't trust them

rafiki claims 50 to 1 kill ratio and meanwhile the Hiz guys is talking ****.

PA has been trying to get control of Gaza ever since Hamas got elected. They'll take it and work with the Israelis to repress dissent, and remind the Israelis to not let a free election proceed in Gaza in the near future.

by microbet P

What makes you think SA is interested in or capable of occupying Gaza?

This. SA occupying gaza strikes me as utter fantasy.

It’s going to have to be PA, Hamas, or Israeli occupation, assuming there’s anything left to govern.

Is this before or after they start getting thrown off roofs again?

What about the other SA, the defenders of Gaza. South Africa!

Lol. That was so out of left field that they are the ones that brought them to court

You guys don’t think SA will be excited to collaborate in a genocide of Arab people?

They would be excited to have another actual arab ally

it wasnt out of left field. Mandela and the South Africans have always had close relations with the Palestinians. these are things that you should know.

Iran would love it for Saudi to come into Gaza. Would be open season on Saudi troops.
Also is the regular Saudi army competent at all? I'm sure they have all kinds of fancy training but coming into the Gaza aftermath with a remnant hostile force, they'll probably just be hiding in their green zone eating mortars all day and night.

That's another excellent point and another reason why SA won't be in Gaza. The principle enemies in the region are Iran and Saudi Arabia. SA having troops is Gaza, fighting against Iranian allies Hamas and Hezbollah would be gasoline on a fire and very likely trigger for war involving Iran and SA, possibly civil war in SA, and all of that would 100% mean massive US involvement.

Im telling you guys Hamas is not cool with Saudis and Salafism. the speculation about Saudi running Gaza makes no sense and is just based on ignorance that Mooslem Arabs are the same.

Lebanon? They could certainly use the money.

Let’s call up Hezbollah and see if they’re interested.
