Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Right, for like the previous 700 (1,000?) years it was Muslim dominated land and it was conquered to become Israel in the 20th century and saying colonizers isn't much of a stretch.
Selective incorporation of Nazi ideology (The anti-Jewish parts obviously) has been a part of Arab nationalism/Islamism movements since before WWII through today. Jeffrey Herf is a History Professor at Maryland who has written extensively on this.
I am not surprised you and most Americans are completely naive on this. It has actually been American official policy to suppress and downplay the extent of Nazi ideology in the Arab World for pragmatic reasons; because if they acknowledged it, it would make it harder to negotiate with Arabs.. But many Arab nationalistic/Islamic groups themselves make no qualms. They flaunt it right out in the open.
Our leftist MSM/govt just chooses to ignore and suppress existence of these sentiments. Needless to say this is a very different approach than the MSM employs to our own domestic right, where accusations of Naziism flow fast and furious, despite nothing coming close to the overt overtures to Naziism regularly seen in the Arab World.
I'm well aware of the whole Mufti Hitler thing and neo-Fascist/supremacist elements in various Islamic groups. My comment was regarding your very specific claim re Mein Kampf in almost every house in Gaza. Yet again you have no way of knowing this and your latest links in no way validates your claim. I'm not American btw.
Here is why I think this happening. We don't understand our nature. We didn't understand the cause of the world wars. When the conflict subsided we explained our social reality in a certain way and buried any paradoxes. This is why the concept of questioning the holocaust is so sacred. I'm not questioning it, it happened, but its not the full story is the problem.
This is where godwin's law arises from. Its why every argument if it goes on long enough boils down to one side being hitler.
Imagine you took two ai chat bots and trained them on our collective dialogues. They would just argue down to godwin's law. You would have to give them axioms to avoid it.
And now israel is hiding behind the shield of the word 'genocide'. As long as the word can be made ambiguous enough they can do whatever they want as long as it doesn't fall under that word. thats my take and it 100% has to do with the fact that a group like this can't argue that 'lia thomas' winning the ncaa is ridiculous and unfair.
Not sure exactly what you are saying but Israel isn't coming close to committing genocide. If hamas would surrender no more civilians would have to die
I mean, we have no way of knowing because most homes in Gaza have been destroyed out of hatred and retribution but it would be quite a spin to say that Nazi ideology in that part of the region isn't a serious problem. But the US in last ten years or so has definitely had a creative shift in what is and isn't Nazism for all kind of bullshit reasons and incentives.
We know. Thats why this thread should be titled 'watching jews commit genocide' and so we can talk about the irony.
I spent some time in the states during covid, but that's about it for the past 10 years. Can you explain to me what this means?
I also think we should vote on whether or not the death toll from each side should be put in the title.
What are your "balanced" thoughts on the Palestinians?
Also, at this point Snowden has to be treated as Russian propaganda. Whatever he was before, once he took asylum in Russia (a country with no freedom of speech and critics of the regime find themselves falling out of very high windows regularly) he obviously can only say what the Putin regime allows him to say.
god even after all this you are still naive to believe this is about the hostages.
but then again you believed George Bush when he said "they hate us for our freedom"
how exactly will a surrender take place ?
Releasing the hostages, surrendering weapons, and giving surrendering the leadership to IDF would be a good start.
You know, like how armies in the past have surrendered.
They have hostages
You are denying this?
the offered a full prisoner swap and cease fire.
why would leadership surrender when command and control is still intact?
No reporting on the chemical weapons terrorist attack by IDF forces on USA soil that sent people to the hospital.
I think they hate us because we (mostly) don't worship Allah and we let our women have rights.
Also, the post you were replying to didn't even mention hostages.
Details? I can't find something about which there is no reporting. But yes, I did try to google it just in case there was some reported, couldn't find anything.
IDF soldiers sprayed chemical weapons on Columbia protesters. very ironic considering how much the Zionists cried about how unsafe college is for Jews.
You are right. They have lost control of most of the territory, half the buildings damaged or destroyed, 85% of people displaced, and have lost 20-30% of their own forces (estimate by US analysts). Why stop now and try to make things better for the people when everything is going so well?
My precise point was that we've no way of knowing such a thing.
Please cite as only thing I found from googling was one IDF reservist who "tried to reason" with protesters.

Nothing in it about the actual IDF using chemical weapons. You should like this article btw it has dead babies mentioned in it.
He’s/she prob talking about pepper spray or CS gas.
There is no article. That's why I said there was no reporting. Seems to be getting picked up by larger voices like Abby Martin.
Right so you're making a baseless claim okay.
That said if a former 9/11 truther who worked for Russia Today said it, it must be true...
And there is reporting. It's just not reporting what you claim.
No it's based on public statements from multiple witnesses and victims.
