Washoe, I haven't read any of the articles you've linked to, but from what you've told of the story, it does sound odd. Of course, we only know part of the story, and it doesn’t make sense to take whatever you hear from any one source as complete gospel that is beyond questioning, as you so often do.

But the reason you never get anywhere with people when you get rolling like this are the bizarre declarative statements you make. No lawyer would ever do X, no person from university Y would ever drown, etc. You continually come to conclusions drawn from very questionable or incomplete reasoning.

Where you're going with your latest obsession, I have no idea. I agree that it's difficult to get back in a kayak like that in the middle of a lake. However, to my mind, this makes it more likely she drowned by accident, not less. Where are you going with this?

Might be time to go for a walk or something. 😀

yeah ok. I let homeboy d2 spam you about pi or like buttons. lucky is gonna be upset, but whatever..

I'm on the lake in a boat right now...keeping my eyes peeled for bodies.

Historically you haven’t been very good at identifying bodies

roco, you didn't answer the question as to whether or not you can swim as a lawyer

the fbi should arrest every member of this group and interrogate them until they spill out what happened.

What jurisdiction does the FBI in this case?

what jurastiction does the fbi have? they are on the case. thats all you need to know. you can look that up everywhere.

according to her family nancy is a strong swimmer. this makes it even more odd. A lifeguard says here people dont drown that quick. the girl she was with could rescue the boat but not the person? and she was holding it with a foot in it? I call bs, you take the paddle or a hand. the boat was found capsized.
I doubt they know what kind of kayak she was in and that they are capable of telling if she was able to climb in and out in the water. There are different types of kayaks. This one was a complete diffent type to the ones rococo showed us. It was a cheap plastic one dependant on solely air buoyancy by looking at it. it has also high edges that are way above the water level which makes it diffult to climb back in.

this is information from the family and search and rescue missions about the case.

13. Nancy is a strong swimmer and knows how to get in and out of a kayak

For anyone who missed the hidden Sandy Hook reference, this was a zing.

Alright, Crossnerd, you are kinda getting towards the "funny" end of the spectrum. We need more evidence to tell. Crack on, and we'll tell you when you've made it.

By "we", I of course mean the monolithic band of Y-chromosome rich misogynists to whom I belong.

very odd case. they couldnt make an emergency call? they had their cars parked right outside.

how many yards is that to shore? thats gotta be like 300 yards to half a mile. she was out a bit over 100 yards when it happened , according to the owners who saw everything. from a 100 yards you can see and hear everything on the water. if you cant swim that you have no business jumping out of your kayak and not even being there without a life jacket and or company. I dont believe she jumped out to take a dip. who the f does that? n

Probably like 150 yards. I definitely wouldn't be jumping out of a kayak in the middle of this lake. Lawyers can do some crazy things though, especially on vacation.

probably to reddit now.

She meant Columbine though.

this case reminds me of the kayak murder. do you know of that?

Someone murdered a kayak?

by Luckbox Inc P

I do not

i just pulled a random article now about it. she pulled the plug out of her fiances kayak. she mudered him and admitted it.

she ended up 2 years in prison which is an outrage. maybe these people knew of this case. Im sure they did.

its known as the "kayak murder" or " kayak killer" bc she used a kayak to do it.

you didnt know about this case? happened in the hudson river.

It's the Canadian in me. Sorry, eh.

What I meant was, where are you going with the thought process that she wouldn't likely be able to get back in the kayak? That would seem to make it more likely for her to drown.

I assume maybe you're going down the line that it would make her less likely to jump in? If so, I'd agree. Some possible explanations - she actually is skilled enough to get back in (in which case what happened here), or she just did something stupid, which people do at times. Even lawyers.

Has there been any discussion of alcohol or other drugs being involved? That would explain some things.

I've been kayaking in the Mississippi river before, and had friends go in frigid water before while kayaking. A lot can go wrong very quickly in cold water. But the water at Lake Atitlán isn't frigid at all... Not super warm since it's at 5k feet elevation but hardly life threatening either, or at least not of the sort where your body goes into shock.

No no drugs according to family and friends. that doesnt mean much though... the owner of the kayak place has been quoted that his kayaks dont capsize. which is bs, I can capisize any boat. the boat has been found capsized btw. which open the possibility she tried to climb back in but failed. then she could have at least hold onto it, or just swam back to shore. its all driving everyone nuts bc nothing makes sense here. nelly is the only option here. a sea monster. 😀

yea, thats what I meant. she just went through law school, which makes it less likely she does something that stupid imo. those are the brightest minds who can add 2 and 2 to make 4. so a dumb decision like that is out of the question imo. she is a "strong swimmer" which I could have told you without hearing it from her family. that adds even more questions.. idk but something is out of line here.

nobody goes swimming there right? yea its warm I know...
its super polluted with trash all over you can read. Ive been to south american lakes. nobody goes swimming in those lakes due to pollution. not temp I guess. the surface where you swim must be pretty warm. enough to not freeze to death.

"Amatitlán is the one that is heavy polluted and you should definitely not go swimming there. Lake Atitlán on the other hand is very nice, and you can swim and do water sports there without a problem. I was on Atitlán a couple of months ago and my kids were happily swimming on the lake. They sound almost the same but the polluted one is the one has an M (aMatitlán ≠ aTitlán).
Here is a pic of my kid on Lake Atitlán (on the left) and on the right is the heavily polluted Lake Amatitlán:

I found a recent video online about a foreigner swimming in Atitlán if you want to check it out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SceRccAz... Swimming starts at 12:30 mark.

Is Lake Atitlan water cold?

The water temperature of Lake Atitlan stays pretty constant year-round at a temperature of 21°C / 70°F which is a little chilly, but not so cold that you wouldn't want to swim. The months between November and May are best for swimming in Lake Atitlan.

drugs and alcohol? no alcohol but drugs are an option here. that would explain why the entire group was acting so out of line. maybe they were all on shrooms or lsd or whatnot. that entire place there is famous for that. its an idustry there, and drugs attract cartel and shady people too.
