Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
No, because the US didn't particularly support Israel until after Britain and France withheld military deliveries in the wake of the Six Day War. In the 1956 Suez Crisis the US very distinctly opposed Israel along with Britain and France. In 1948 the Israelis did very well without any US help except a few volunteer mercenary pilots like Slick Goodlin, famous for failing to make the first supersonic flight in the Bell X-1 as a civilian test

You're blatantly shamelessly lying by denying it and your comment yet again was extremely disingenuous and even more hyperbolic than I originally stated, as I'd forgotten it was a terrorist IDF chemical attack on US soil. You truly are dishonest as your latest lie highlights all the more clearly.

The court said that it was plausible that it could lead to genocide and that Israel needs to make sure it doesn't
But they said isreal can continue to try to take out hamss

And it said hostages should be returned and didn't mention prisoner swaps

So they clearly ruled it isn't genocide and they need to make sure it doesn't get there but carry on

Victor isn't lying in the classical sense. He's more like Trump; he's just completely untethered from the truth and just says whatever feels good.

I think he is just a normie tankie with all the accompanying horrifying takes all of them always had, against all basic decency and values of non-marxist people.

I mean his take is probably the median, vanilla one among sociology or anthropology college students

it was a terrorist attack.

and an attack "by IDF forces" is different than the "IDF launching an attack".

Dude. You lied when you denied you said this and accused me of lying via my comment. Hello??
And no it isn't different, are you taking the piss? 😆

The purpose was to ascertain if Israel were committing genocide as accused by South Africa. Court did not decree this, so obviously they didn't believe it, the end.

blatantly false. this has been explained to you a number of times. the court was not going to rule on genocide for this hearing. well, they could have thrown it out which they didnt and instead put Israel on trial.

its def different and its technically true. the best kind of true. its so true that you had to make up a different statement to argue against.

I am ok taking the side of "this is horrible but it's proper for the USA to keep those countries allies in some form, the alternative is just worse.

Try saying "SA is a horrible place led my moral monsters who commit way too many crimes against humanity ... which is why we should invade them" if you want some spiced up conversation

Also I doubt anyone will argue that the USA should invade Saudi Arabia (as if USA military isn't there already) or do anything that will change their government from what it is to civil war.

What 57 said about USA not providing much support to Israel before 1967, but also aid bumped up a ton from '73 to '74, which is the year of the Arab Oil Embargo.

I agree with you, but you can replace the USA with any country that supplied Israel with arms and money. Without them, it was Holocaust 2.0. And the Americans doing their best since to keep that spirit going is commendable.

You need weapons to fight, sure, but mostly Israel bought weapons from France and others - and mostly they still do just buy or make weapons. USA aid is like 12% of their defense budget. It would not be holocaust 2.0 without aid.

wall of text

... isnt a question the mods will decide.

Yet you're fine with one person's ad hominem attacks and ban someone who counters with his own ad hominem attack.

Again, no one is falling for your wall of text justification.

I never tried to justify them and obv think that murdering civilians is abhorrent. I am not going to condemn innocent prisoners who are oppressed and violated their entire life when they revolt.

as for narrative, I can only speculate on what their plan was. I dont think it was to just do a bunch of rape and murder. if I had to guess they intended to murder soldiers and take hostages. seems that some fighters proceeded to commit war cri

Liar. You are clearly a racist who supports rape of Israeli women and beheading of Jewish children. This is shown by your condemnation of Israel taking action to protect itself.

by Victor P

according to Shin Bet the Israeli intelligence agency, Hamas did not know there was a festival and did not have a plan to attack it in advance.

now I am not going to accuse you guys of being liars or spreading misinformation. but these are basic facts.

This was a secret unannounced music festival? Not many of those around.

Hamas is also their civil government. Like their Health Ministry is Hamas.

by browser2920 P

That's enough with the comments about what a poster must or must not have as personal motivations for posting. Stop directing comments at the poster personally versus his argument.

Victor and Trolly do this exact same thing constantly.

This is absolutely true, and I as said 20 years ago, we should have invaded Saudi Arabia instead of Iraq.
