ex-President Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:
a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?
b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Apparently the three attorneys that drafted and introduced an article of impeachment resulting from the incident considered it a crime. Perhaps read their thoughts on it since I am not an attorney?
You can't just ignore subpoenas. You either show up and testify, show up and take the Fifth, or move to quash. Simply ignoring the subpoena is not an option.
I have no idea how some TV guy would know what advice she was given unless she disclosed it. You can be certain that her attorneys didn't disclose their advice to the press.
Interesting to see the kind of reactions posting the literal timeline of events and the tweets with timestamp can generate.
You post objective facts without comments, that's "Shameful disingenuous gaslighting" .
I am not sure how it worked at the state level but I see a bunch of folks at the federal level ignoring them. I thought the same thing as you your subpoena you show up?
Heck just say it you think I made it up? I can't find the link its not like I taped the shows
Not for federal court. For congress? They need to ask the Justice Department for enforcement. Several of Trumpers have gone to jail.
Lol, save the bullshit indignant routine for your family members.
You did not post all the tweets and you highlighted tweets in blue that made Trump look favorable (yes, I realize you just copped the image from one of your favorite pro-Trump sites and didn't personally highlight it).
As for timeline, someone being honest would post the tweets and timeline in chronological order rather than in separate images with different time zones and clock settings (yeah, I know, save the bullshit about simple clock math - either use UTC for all of it with a 24-clock, or use DC time with all of it with a 12-hour clock).
That would look like this:
1:10 p.m.: Trump concludes his remarks to the crowd gathered for the “Save America March” on the National Mall.
1:25 p.m.: Trump is informed by a White House staff member that the Capitol is under attack.
1:49 p.m.: Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund informs the D.C. National Guard “that there was a dire emergency on Capitol Hill and requested the immediate assistance” of as many National Guard troops as possible. The Metropolitan Police Department officially declares a riot.
1:49:54: Trump tweets a link to a recording of his speech at the Ellipse, but without any other comment.
2:13 p.m.: Rioters break into the Capitol and swarm the building.
2:24:22: Trump issues his first written tweet since the attack.
“Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”
2:38:58: Trump issues a second tweet.
“Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”
3:13:26: Trump issues a third tweet.
“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order — respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”
4:17:24: Trump posts a video.
“I know your pain. I know you’re hurt. We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election, and everyone knows it, especially the other side, but you have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order. We have to respect our great people in law and order.”
“This was a fraudulent election, but we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You’re very special. You’ve seen what happens. You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home at peace.”
6:01:04: Trump ends the day with a final tweet.
“These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away from great patriots who have been badly & unfairly treated for so long. Go home with love & in peace. Remember this day forever!”
I posted the last ones, with timestamp. In chronological order. Pointing out they were in UTC time because that's how presidency.com where i found them saves them lol, while i found the event timeline on wiki. And i didn't comment on them , i didn't say anything but posting them.
If you want to nitpick about timelines, Trump told them to be peaceful before the march to the capitol.
And if they didn't follow his instructions then, what makes you think they would during the actual riot?
So presidency.com has an incomplete log of tweets and highlights the ones that are favorable for Trump in blue? 😃
Hint: when someone posts something in response using highlighted text that opposes the post he or she is replying to, the implied commentary of that response is obvious.
Once again, save the gaslighting for your family members.
One to show up for a congressional hearing holds less weight than a judicial subpoena, mainly due to enforcement. Courts have police departments, Sheriffs offices and the Department of Justice to ensure that someone shows up, meanwhile Congress only has an internal mechanism consisting of mainly either a civil action or a contempt of Congress charge which has proven to be relatively toothless.
Right. Saying fight like hell and you're going to lose your country if you don't fight numerous times is all erased by one casual, "peaceful." 🤣
Because they left when he told them to.
Who do you see ignoring subpoenas in federal court proceedings?
$364m is nothing for Trump
he'll send out a social media message and his useful idiots will send him that $$$ in no time!!
You can fight peacefully you know. The word is often used in a peaceful context. So yeah, I'm pretty sure he meant to fight in the figurative not literal sense.
Ah, so he was being figurative the numerous times he said fight like hell but was being literal the one time he said be peaceful.
Too bad his actions of waiting 30 minutes after being shown the riots to remind them to be peaceful suggests the opposite of what you're pretty sure of.
I guess the only question left is: do you actually believe this bullshit or do your know it's bullshit but have no other options than to regurgitate it?
Either you are stupid enough to believe this, you think we are, or, most likely, both.
My apologies I meant subpoenas from congressional committee's like Eric Holder , some of the Trump folks, Hunter Biden ... those type
I think he is actually running out of cash
nah. Putin has his back
Congressional subpoenas are a different animal.
Seemed like he was ok with the whole scene when he was sitting there watching it all play out on the screen.
Ouch Trump fined 350 million and banned from doing Business in NY for 3 years
The only thing he was upset about was that they looked "low class" - not in their actions, but in their appearance 🤣
I dont agree with you on much but 'fight' in the politcal context simply doesn't imply violence. There's far more than enough wrong about trump to need make ourselves look stupid by pretending not to know this. Worse is we shoot ourselves in the foot because we should be fightinbg like hell and it shouldn't be violent.
That doesn't get trump off the hook but it's not because he used the word 'fight'
Did you actually watch his full speech and read his "Be there. Will be wild!" tweet a couple of weeks prior? When the hell is a peaceful protest against the government supposed to be wild? You have to take everything he did and said up to that point in aggregate to get the actual context from that day.
