This does not surprise me. Looking over some of these HH's Linus plays odd. Some really splashy lines.

Did you run them in a plo solver?

Linus notoriously makes plays that aren’t GTO approved. There becomes a point you’re playing the best in the world and you can stray a little bit for pure confusion purposes. Im confident he can figure out how his own how his ranges look, including certain sizings, and apply them to his own accordance.

It is ironic cause you also stray from GTO when playing the worst in the world. The more basic ABC players are the ones to adhere strict GTO strategy to

Oh wow, Linus lost 7 stacks at plo10k, so a mega ton, in a game with little variance. I mean, at least the samplesize is big, 10k hands, kappa.

So it's clear now, Linus must be the underdog, as we have huge loss and huge sample.

Siuuuuuuuuu

I'm just saying there are some odd lines. Read the HH's (i bet you haven't) I've not ran the spots i will later.

I mean he is Linus, he's amazing. Obviously meta plays a big part. I'm just surprised with some plays. They are great to follow anyway!!

Cool to see Bert playing cash, hopefully he does a stream or youtube vid

agree with both of you defo odd lines also he is bluffshoving sometimes in spots he checks his value on the river and so on...
kinda surprised he is only down 7 buyiny roughly
wonder if they xbooking higher does anyone know?

Some of the plays are just bad, no matter who would make them.

Playing heads up against one of the best specialists in a format that you are an underdog against might cause this.

It’s like a top 10 boxer would try to knock out Floyd in his prime. Sure, he has a chance but mostly he will just keep swinging and missing.

If they would switch to NLHE, the skill gap would be alot bigger. But challenging the best and trying to figure out how to beat them, is what makes Linus one of the best.

Sometimes I wonder if different type of personalities succeed better in NLHE compared to PLO.

quite an insane raise on the flop on first glance

probably blocks aa and unblocks some draws he has good equity against I guess.. still seems super wide...

- Yeh he unblocks Villain's folds, JT, T8, any kind of overpair+straight draw, so many QQT8 JJT8 etc. that are gonna have to fold river.
- holding Ad you don't block club, spade heart floats
- underpairs like 22, 33 like to go for animal bluffs sometimes because they unblock high card folds and when they do bink a set it's typically the nuts in a huge pot

I'm a no limit player but that would be my take. It'd be cool if someone did a breakdown of some of these hands. A ton of them are totally standard coolers though.

I just ran through them again and it's a ton of standard stackoffs.

Which plays?

From HHs posted here Linus looks very good player hu plo player.

But without any more information, this A633 is bizarre, horrendous. Imagine sanita face after river LOL.

That being said, maybe Linus pick up a bet size tell or folded vs cbets last 2-3 spots and now going for a bluff, If that’s the situation, then its very good to make this play. Or maybe Linus was on monkey tilt after losing five 3b pots in a row and said **** this idiot, I want win one. Which is also a valid reason to raise flop.

I’m a PLO noob but given how much closer equities run than NLHE I’d be guessing that these kind of bluffs are pretty much not a thing? at least he had the 3 of spades, turn bet seems incredibly odd given he paired the A
