For context, this is a trans influencer who built a 10 million strong following on TikTok. She took a brand deal with budweiser to post an ad on an instagram, and the anti-trans right went absolutely ballistic, calling for a boycott, condemning the company, and to some perhaps unknowable degree it influenced that Budweiser sales dropped by a 1/4 and
. Dylan speaks more personally about the effect of the hatred on her.
What strikes me about this story is that it is just about visibility. This isn't inclusion in sports or gender-affirming care for minors, it was just that a trans person was visible. This wasn't even visibility in a TV commerical that a poor right-winger is forced to see, it was an ad on her own instagram page. We're all in our own social media algorithm influenced bubbles, but from my vantage point it really has seemed that in the last year or so things have just gotten worse for trans people and the backlash to even minor visibility is growing.
We need to do better.
Please show me one instance were I have made a assumption on the race of the individual. I made an assumption on gender and owned up to it. I do not see Trolly owning up to the fact he looks to be wrong on his statement which he never will do nor will Uke or Bobo call him out on it

Nex Benedict was 16 and the purported assailants were indicated by media as "older" so nice attempt at deflecting ... We are talking possibly adults, or at most 17y old who would be almost certainly tried as adults if it ends up being manslaughter or worse, but sure thing we aren't usually told anything about under18 suspects of murder sure.

This is technically correct, but also not nearly as jarring because the doctor isn't the main character of the story and won't be referenced a bunch of times. In cases where a character does need to be referenced often, authors will try to find out to avoid the cumbersome prose.

This is just as easy. You can refer to a non-binary person as "they" a bunch of times in that case. The point is that it is quite common to use the singular they in as in my doctor example from time to time and most probably don't even notice when they do it, so if this person is now the protagonist of the story and so you want heavy pronoun usage just do that but more. No big deal at all.
I'll caveat one exception which is I write a lot of reference letters and for a good bunch of them I've forgotten most things about them but I reread their projects and grades and that's enough for a decent enough letter. I also often forget their pronouns - not some new age thing like I literally don't remember what they look like anymore and just have an often non-gendered name. So in that case my reference letters excessively reference the name of the person every sentence instead of using pronouns. That is a bit cumbersome for sure, but journalists don't do this for the most part.
How is this any more of a cluster**** than "he told him" where you have to keep track of which pronoun goes with which person and nobody ever complains about how horrible it is.

the school found benedict so much at fault that they suspended for 2 weeks
now they aren't even sure if benedict's death was even related to the fight, which apparently wasn't nearly as severe as portrayed in the media initially as they walked out just fine, had a meeting with the principal, and only went to the hospital as a precaution who sent them home without issue and only the next day did ben collapse dead so it's possibly unrelated - hence why they are awaiting conclusive autopsy reports before proceeding with charges

Funny that, I've thought something rather similar for the certain types who seem to accept the idea of homosexuality but reject the idea of non-binary, somehow the former is just easier to reconcile in their mind.

Seems like it was resolved, but I haven't followed every post as that's your and his issue, and I was responding to you bringing me up out of the blue about something totally different, which amazingly you still seem to be confused about.
