The downside of walking outside is it's hot as ballz in the summer.
Look at that map you quoted. It's a long walk to the back of the casino where the monorail is.
Other than the crosswalk in front of the Cromwell, most of the walk can be done indoors. Of course, if someone has a health condition or is sensitive to any heat then it may be a problem. In that case I would plan to stay at HS or Paris.
Sort of.....the map starts at the front of the casino. The elevators from the room are closer to the back. Timewise I would think walking is slighting faster than monorail, but it likely depends on how long you have to wait for the train.
It really comes down to preferred mode of transportation. I much prefer to walk as it gets the blood flowing and clears my head.
There can be a lot of weed stench in the air on that sidewalk. My head would be anything but clear.
if cabbing to the wsop is there a quick entrance or the fastest entrance to register/play. thanks in advance.
Not much difference but I prefer entrance on flamingo
The Paris ride share entrance was closed in December. I’m not sure what the status of that is now. As for which valet entrance (Paris or HS) is best, the Paris side is probably a little closer. But entering the Paris driveway from LVB can be a **** show. I try to avoid riding on LVB like the plague any time after noon.
It will depend what the construction situation is at the time, but as a general rule, if you’re coming from either side of the strip, it’s probably best to enter by the North Entrance of HS off of Flamingo. That’s where ride share/ tour bus pickup is. Then just cross the casino floor into Paris and it’s just a short walk to the ballroom area.
Thanks, River/Akashank; havent been to the series since pandemic and was hoping for easy entrance such as Aria, Orleans and even the old Venetian ballroom(?) but no such luck. lol I know that entrance when it was Ballys, I'm dated but what the h..
This is just a shot in the dark, but if anyone is interested in joining up or staying together to talk strategy, save $$ on hotel costs, or just experience the WSOP together, then PM me.
This is my first time going and will be there from 6/26 - 7/3. Planning on playing during the following dates and events:
6/27 - Salute to Warriors
6/28 to 7/1 - Collossus (or other poker tournys on the strip with good structure)
7/2 - Mini Main Event
I got an email from CET regarding the upcoming WSOPc event at Paris Hotel and Casino. They mention a "newly renovated Normandy Ballroom". I assume this must be the old Jubilee ballroom in the former HS Jubillee Tower (now part of Paris and branded as the Versailles Tower). Here is the old floor plan.

Assuming the renovation didn't change things much, it looks like there are two additional ballroom spaces in the Versailles Tower, each of which is about 1/4 the size of the HS ballroom.
I will be curious to see what sort of events they hold there during the WSOP. Cash games? Daily Deepstacks? The latter would make all the sense in the world.
I thought it was already announced that the deepstacks would be in the new space.
I think cash games are a big source of revenue during the WSOP.
They will make sure Cash Game Area is very visible and where the main traffic is.
They will not put cash games in an isolated room.
Yep, it was already announced it is where the deep stacks are going to be.
Presumably, it'll also be used for overflow as well if they need it.
We'll be able to get a preview of it at the circuit event as that is what they are using.
If anyone is going to play the circuit event, could you post pics of the new room?
Yes and yes. I will be there for 1-2 events soon.
Awesome, thanks!
Can you get there from the Horseshoe?
I sure hope they put a cage in there so we don't have to schlep all the way to the main WSOP cage for reg and other issues.
I doubt it. Get used to walking! 😎
No seriously, give consideration to your feet and have very comfortable shoes. There's a whole lotta walking involved with the WSOP.
Well, unless something has drastically changed, it’s just up the escalators next to the HS poker room.
Yeah. Should be just upstairs to the right of the Poker Room and Nosh.
Based on what I’m reading, it sounds likely that this summer’s Daily Deep Stacks will be located in the “newly renovated Normandy Ballroom”.
I’m still not clear on where this new Normandy room is. I don’t know where the HS Poker Room is but I have been to WSOP events in the Paris and Horseshoe.
Can anyone briefly describe the location of the Normandy room, say from that big WSOP hallway w/ tournament ballroom(s) at the Horseshoe?
Walk toward the front entrance of Horseshoe. With your back to the front entrance of Horseshoe you will see steps down to the casino floor in front. There’s a lobby bar right there - and a plethora of slot machines.
After going down those few steps and into the casino, the poker room is at about your 1 or 2 o’clock. Can’t miss it.
Follow the outside of the poker room to the right and there’s a small eatery spot called “Nosh”. Just to the right of Nosh are elevators up to those conference/ballrooms.
Thanks, Get This Out!
Is there a theatre up there near the Normandy? Think that’s where my wife saw Wayne Newton a few years ago. Some drunk woman kept interrupting the performance with shouts of “I love you Wayne”. lol
That seems really out-of-the-way from the rest of the WSOP tables.
I think there’s a small showroom on the second floor. At least there used to be. The main theatre entrance is to the left of the poker room near the high limit area.
As far as being out of the way it is about the same distance between the Paris ballroom area to the HS Event center and the new location. The three form a triangle.
In this map, the poker room and escalators to the new location are in the bottom right. The entrance to Paris is to the left of the Jubilee theater.
