The implicit part which we haven't yet discussed is that supposedly all content in the school library is potentially ,1) USABLE BY TEACHERS IN LESSONS and 2) sometimes students are supposed to pick up on their own and then discuss with teachers.

I cant speak to what teachers can and cant use in lessons. Just from reading some articles about the schools in FL when I lived there, it seemed that teachers had very restrictive rules about the curriculum and what they can use in class lessons. And this was before the recent DeSantis crackdown. Only approved text books, lesson plans etc. , most of which seemed to be geared on passing various required standardized tests. I really doubt that just because a book was available in the library that it meant it could be used in classrooms.
And Im not saying that particular book is approprite for a school library or not. My thought was just that as shocking as a drawing of oral sex or a strapon in a book at school may seem to someone of my generation, I really think almost all kids, and especially teens, have already been exposed to much more graphic images routinely. So the objections about the drawings themselves, as if they are depicting things the kids otherwise have never seen, is weak, imo.
I suspect the outrage is more about the actual subject matter than "pornographic images". There are those who would prefer that any mention of the existence of lgbtq people be suppressed in schools. But they know their old " the bible says the punishment for homosexuality is death" justification won't fly anymore, so they are changing tactics. Now it's this conspiracy theory that kids think it's cool to be trans, that being trans moves you up the social ladder, that it even somehow relieves teens of the pressures to look pretty. And it's topped off by teachers constantly trying to convince students they are trans because for some reason all these nontrans teachers want to grow the number of trans students.
This seems to contrast sharply with anything I have seen discussing what an openly trans teenager experiences at school and outside of it. It's the complete opposite.
Tbh browser i don't think normal kids are particularly interested in female to male trans porn, so yes imagery of an exceptionally rare niche form of kink is still shocking these days , in high school.

What other reasons would you have to expose 14y old to weird, rare, kink, and be there to discuss implications with them, if not to normalize that to them? To make it fraudulently appear as an absolutely normal form of sex young people regularly have to do with?
