2024 Las Vegas Summer Series - non-WSOP

Anyone have a clue when some schedules are going to drop?

I wonder what sort of buy-in the Aria “championship” event will be. I think there will be competition in the $1-2k range with the WSOP holding this Gladiators event in that timeframe.

Can we all make a pact not to bump this thread until a schedule has actually been released at one of the mentioned properties?

agreed!

.... oh wait

It was a $3500 buyin last year. Expect it to be the same.

Looks like the series will not be in the new poker room. Kind of makes sense since construction only started a few weeks ago.

Nice. That $1,600 seniors $1mm guarantee is perfectly timed vs the WSOP seniors event for people who aren’t planning to stay the following week.

Venetian series looks solid. I just wish there were more $1100s close to each other per se. The MSPT at start of series (or before per se) look juicy. My planned weeks- Venetian has only 1 $1100 multi day which bums me out.

Might have to switch up my schedule and say no thanks to some wsop events I wanted to play but not sure yet. Still think Venetian events are more realistic for a FT Vs a wsop gigantic field. Still waiting on Wynn and aria to post. Wynn 550s are cool but don’t run often during summer and aria always has solid events. Just wish aria would run some multi day big gtns with a slightly better structure than their current 1 day events. The 600s are solid obviously for a 1 day that doesn’t take forever to finish and doesn’t suck up too much time in the schedule with a day 2.

Any info on when we can’t expect other schedules? I’ve seen nothing. Mainly Wynn, aria, and maybe mgm. I see mgm dates are posted but no info on mtts they run- they might run some stuff I like in my buyin range

Venetian series looks solid.

I found it to be a terrible disappointment, even more than usual. Horrible unimaginative. From my quick perusal, it appears that the cheapest tournament entry is $600 and the most expensive is $1600. That is a very narrow band indeed. I’d be surprised if any other of the summer series remotely approach such a tight price range.

I recognise that a room with restricted space needs to engineer a level of tournament rake that is profitable for the house, but it means that their entire schedule will appeal to only a limited sector of the player market.

If that happens to be your sweet spot, and NLHE with a bit of PLO is all you’re looking for, then I suppose this schedule would be very attractive. For my part, I’ll only be there only for the Super Seniors and the rest of my tournament dollars will find a home elsewhere

As to be expected the VENETIAN SUPER SENIOR ON 6/26 WED fits nicely with the WSOP Super on 6/24 I expect the cheaper Golden Nugget will fall in line also. I don't recall the Wynn or Aria having a Super last year but the Wynn did have a Senior.

During the summer, rooms like the Venetian cannot offer the variety they might otherwise because there is so much demand for NLH and limited space.

It will be interesting to see how things change, if they change, when they are in their new home. They will have some more space, but I do’t think they’ll have any flexibility to expand, as they have had at times in the past. I’m not sure things will ever be like they were 5 years ago. Just not enough juice to get the space. Never mind conventions space, but there were years when they had 75-100 tables available to them. I think they have about 30 this year and will have about 50 in the future room.

However, I’m sure they will continue to run great tournament pretty much year-round, which is something few other rooms can claim.

Anyone want to join my 2 pools "Summer In Vegas"?
These are based on # of "last longers" from all the tournament series running during WSOP.
So, not just WSOP but also Aria, Wynn, MGM Grand, Westgate, Golden Nugget, Orleans, Venetian and any others I may have forgotten.
Entry fee is free with a few small prizes (max of $900 in each pool).
More info under "Puzzles And Other Games".

I've put my entries in but I'm also going to play "inside the pool".
I think I've qualified for one of the teams (Team Dave) and I'll be in Vegas this summer to try and lead Team Dave to victory!
I'll probably play the low buyins at Orleans, Golden Nugget & Westgate. Maybe splurge on a higher buyin if I can cash early.

Golden Nugget series will run May 28 - July 1st

Very nice.
They've put all the "mixed games" early (in May) and then it's nothing but flop games from there to the end.

I hate how they moved all the mixed games so early. I never came before Memorial Day Weekend before. They keep moving it earlier and earlier. I use to always come the first 2 weeks of June. The WSOP keeps having the Omaha Event earlier and earlier and everybody else follows suit. That really hurts.

While not surprising that they avoided the WSOP weekends but with wsop taking over Sundays as well, it pushed the wynn multidays even more into the weekdays and day 2 being later in the week.

Also sad that there's no big multiday on the last weekend that wynn usually does (7/13 weekend).

Really wanted to play more wynn this year but it might not work in my schedule.

Bummer they didn’t align seniors w Wsop

So Aria / MGM / Orleans / Golden Nugget still missing. Hopefully they come soon as well.

Are the structures for the same buy in at the different venues mostly identical?

Re: Wynn. This is not super inspiring. I don’t mind the big NLH events, but it looks like they are just doing cash grabs by having a ton of starting flights. Also, it’s odd that the $600 at the start of the event appears to have better structure than the $1100 event a week later. We’ll have to see the details when the structure sheets are posted, but still, from the schedule, it appears to be much better.

Anyhow, the big guarantees are nice, but Wynn is pretty much the only non-WSOP venue in town which has the space to offer a bunch of $1MM+ guarantees. I would rather they lower some of the guaranteed a bit and offer better events.

Anybody know what they offer for dailies for the Wynn and Venetian? Also, best structured dailies in town during the series?

I agree with you but for different reasons.

Most players goes to Las Vegas mainly to play in WSOP.

When they ( me too) makes plan for WSOP Las Vegas they are not thinking oh I will play $1000-$2000 tournament at other casinos.

Most of them are first timers and looking forward to have WSOP experience with little or tight budget.

WSOP offers many tournaments between 200-to $600 daily. And many sIngle table tournaments ($60 - $500)

Why would someone will go to any other casinos if they aren't offering something reasonable.

Most of the WYNN tournaments are $1000 or higher. I wouldn't go there.

Most players will have 1 day or max 2 day gap between 2 WSOP events they have in their plans.

If I am knocked out from a WSOP event, I have plans for other WSOP events or WSOP dailies.

If I want to go out to other casinos, I will be looking for 1 day tourney between $100 to $400 ( or reasonable price to afford their budget $.) I remember playing many 1 day tournaments at Sahara.($85 or something).

I am not looking for a $1000-$1600 tournament.( That’s my highest buy-ins tournaments planned at WSOP)

I think other casinos doesn't realize that the players coming to them not because of their brand ,but availability of players time from WSOP.
