Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
And the army cleaned up fallujah.

2nd battle of Fallujah, US:
95 killed, 560 wounded[10] (54 killed, 425 wounded from 7–16 November)
A city of 350k without a tunnel network and an enemy not preparing for a decade.
Would be interesting to hear from an actual military strategist a different option for how to take a place like Gaza down without flattening it.

It isnt about hoping that iran doesnt get hysterical with nuclear weopons once they build them. Satellites and radar would alert US Defense as soon as one broke either certain elevation or location and it would probably trigger a rainstorm of ICMBs almost immediately that would end iran and kill an unholy amount of folks there.

The US isnt going ask rhat iran pinky swears not to use them and hope for the best.

I have a feeling Iran will be invited to a lot more negotiation talks than before.

This image has been doing the rounds on my Twitter feed lately. Whether nuclear or not, one can hope that as Iran secularizes they will lose interest in harassing Israel and destabilizing the Sunni Arab World.

Erdogan's Islamist party also lost a couple big elections recently to secular rivals. So hopefully Turkey will also take a more secular, peaceful approach towards relations with the world's only Jewish nation.

So I read the Al Shifa battle lasted 12 days, and even as Israeli troops "retreated" enemy combatants were still firing at them.

On one hand this obviously demonstrates Israeli intelligence was correct, and this was an important terrorist headquarters. And Israel achieved some tactical gains taking out so many terrorists and cleaning out this headquarters for a second time.

On the other hand, the fact terrorists could regroup enough in an area Israel has supposedly already cleared to stage a 12 day battle indicates that strategically Israel is far from its stated aim of eliminating terrorists.

Only 11% of Republicans ID as not religious or spiritual. Wacko fundamentalists. Sad.

Sinwar/Hamas have been busy bees the last decade building this infrastructure. Makes you wonder what could have been putting the same effort into civilian needs and good faith negotiations with Israel.
Israel defenders:
What if by some miracle Iran and Russia wanted to host a new round of negotiations to hammer out a 2 state solution. Would you be open to it with Saudi Arabia involved but no one from the west? Seems like the regional powers need to work this out although they seem to enjoy the status quo.

Viktor we don't follow your pallywood sources, so if you want us to understand what you are talking about describe the purported events in full: who got killed where how and so on.

it's normal for people to die during a war so unless you give us elements to consider the event unusual why do you expect anyone to care?

But Victor, it's the UN's fault all those trucks full of food are sitting in Gaza and they're not distributing it.
Like who is crazy enough to drive around Gaza at the moment?

its not really the UN's fault, I dont know what muscle the UN has. its Israel's fault bc they are the ones murdering anyone who distributes food. you should proly direct this at rafki who claims Israel is allowing aid in.

Maybe they will. Are you fine with Iran and Russia heading up the peace talks?

They were working with Hamas. Try again

They were working with Hamas. Try again

somehow this mysterious Hamas terrorist wasnt even killed in the attack!

and the real irony is that they were actually working with Israel.

This unfortunate event with the World Central Kitchen is an interesting case study for the war.

For starters, front page news in Israel:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-promis...

IDF acknowledges strike that killed aid workers as home countries demand explanation

“Despite coordinating movements with the (Israeli army), the convoy was hit as it was leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse, where the team had unloaded more than 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza on the maritime route,” it said.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in an English-language video statement Tuesday that he had spoken to the founder of World Central Kitchen to express his condolences following the tragedy.

“We have been reviewing the incident at the highest levels to understand the circumstances of what happened and how it happened,” said Hagari, commending the charity organization for having come to the help of Israelis displaced after October 7.

“For the last few months, the IDF has been working closely with the World Central Kitchen to assist them in fulfilling their noble mission of helping bring food and humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” he said. “The work of WCK is critical; they are on the frontlines of humanity.”

So they own it, they look into what happened (with a formal investigation), they liaise with the countries the volunteers came from.

Have you seen Hamas do this ONCE when they make a mistake? Even once?
