For context, this is a trans influencer who built a 10 million strong following on TikTok. She took a brand deal with budweiser to post an ad on an instagram, and the anti-trans right went absolutely ballistic, calling for a boycott, condemning the company, and to some perhaps unknowable degree it influenced that Budweiser sales dropped by a 1/4 and

What strikes me about this story is that it is just about visibility. This isn't inclusion in sports or gender-affirming care for minors, it was just that a trans person was visible. This wasn't even visibility in a TV commerical that a poor right-winger is forced to see, it was an ad on her own instagram page. We're all in our own social media algorithm influenced bubbles, but from my vantage point it really has seemed that in the last year or so things have just gotten worse for trans people and the backlash to even minor visibility is growing.
We need to do better.

I don't understand how you're misreading things so badly, but he absolutely did not backtrack to an admission in that post. He's asked you to move on from talking about his personal life which seems reasonable to me as it's completely irrelevant and not even accurate. This conversation really needs to be done now.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I thought we made pretty clear that we are not very available as mods and so have to rely on post reports and randomly stumbling across posts on our own. I happened across your post and felt it was out of line. If there were other posts I should respond to, report them so that we can consider them.

I probably saw the posts before they were deleted. It seemed to me that you were trolling/teasing when you were calling him a bigot, which is whatever, there's trolling and teasing, but I just don't see how any of your posting worked if it didn't come from the POV that being not-straight was some kind of problem.

The only posts I deleted were ones which continued the same discussion after I asked for it to stop (and others responding to the discussion, like 2 posters who wrote mean things about Rick in them). There's nothing missing in the flow of this thread.
