Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
I don't think anyone disagrees with this. I don't think it will be rushed. Obviously a government that's main purpose is to destroy their neighbor isn't going to considered a legitimate state. Also no one is going to rebuild the cities in such a government, because it will just get destroyed again. I think most will agree to follow your 3 steps, what I think will be the major holdup is that if Hamas isn't allowed in the government then thei

rofl the hypocrisy never ends with you people

If a guy gets threatened with arrest essentially for being "openly Jewish" whose Jewishness may cause offence to pro [b]IDF[\b]protesters by virtue of the fact that he's "openly Jewish" then it's clearly far from fine in London.

Some members of Congress are basically members of Hamas as well

by BOIDS P

the police released an apology following that incident, stating that the use of the term 'openly jewish' was, on reflection, 'hugely regrettable'

the statement went on to note that a trend has emerged where those who oppose the pro-palestine marches are appearing close to the protest, and that they (direct quote upcoming) 'must know their presence is provocative'

half an hour later the police apologised for their apology, noting that they hav

if anything, this is racist against the Palestinians.

its saying they are so bloodthirsty that even the appearance of a Kippah could turn them violent.

regardless, the only threat to this person was from the police. and yet somehow we are supposed to blame the people opposing genocide.

ya Im not seeing how a stupid policeman is the fault of the demonstrators nor how that in any way shows antisemitism from the pro-Palestnians.

If the presence of an "openly Jewish" person is deemed "provocative" to pro Palestinians due to his Jewishness, then that's clearly anti effin Semitic. You wouldn't see this as you're also clearly an anti Semite too so give other anti Semites a free pass. See how that works?

A video showed an officer using the term while speaking to Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, who was wearing a kippah skull cap near the demonstration in the Aldwych area of London on the afternoon of Saturday 13 April.

The officer said Mr Falter's presence was "antagonising".

Mr Falter said he had been walking in the capital after attending a synagogue and was not there to counter-protest as he walked past the demonstration last Saturday.

lol ya right

seems this guy got the response he wanted. not from the pro-Palestinians who probably knew what his game was, but from the dumbass police.

by BOIDS P

wat

Vic would deny anti Semitism if it ran at him festooned with swastikas screaming "Anti Semitism is here again"

The cop said he was gonna piss off the pro IDF side.

probably, if I had to bet on it.

good thing the pro-Palestinians didnt respond. unfortunately they still get painted as anti-semitic due to a moran policeman.

the problem is that the police threatened to arrest the guy for quote being openly jewish

ya thats a problem with the police. not with the demonstrators.

It's not just down to the policeman, there's plenty of anti Semitism at pro Palestinian protests.
https://news.sky.com/story/police-active...

Let's not forget the "we are Hamas" catcalling against Jewish students. Which I'm sure you'll deny due to your anti Semitism.

Actually, Biden's government and most of the democratic party, disagree with this. Not even behind closed doors, fairly openly. If you ask the Biden cabinet, they really think they can do 2 states inside 18-24 months.

Nobody, and I mean not even the most Hacky Sack'n beanie wearin left of left hipster in Israel believes this to be possible today.

2 State was there every time the Palestinians passed on the offer. Right now post Oct 7th, it's going to be a long slog. But we'll get there.
