Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Today I learnt that walking around being "visibly Jew" is being an agent provocateur, I am getting the "girls with skirts are actually asking to be raped" vibes of decades ago.

jalfrezi and cartoon Hitler's joint investigation has concluded that it was the jew in the wrong. Case closed

every accusation is a confession from your ideology.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Lol

ya, he should try to be like these Jews

and not the war criminals that walk around with film crews trying to incite an incident in support of genocide.

by corpus vile P

his individual assessment still represents the state there and then at that moment.

Nonsense. He's interpreting the law and applying it (or failing horribly by misapplying it in this case). The final outcome of any judicial process will determine the state's views.

I'm surprised your martyr-hero didn't get himself arrested and put it to the test. Guess money-raising for his Israeli causes that even MARGARET ****ing HODGE hates don't mean as much to him.

Falter just called the people on the lawful march “lawless mobs”. Maybe Palestinians and their supporters should be the ones to feel unsafe here.

Guy in london gets threatened with arrest for looking too Jewish, and you are here posting on the internet that the real issue is that he was weaponising his jewishness.

Disgrace!

I'm "here posting on the internet" that it was terrible policing by a knuckle-headed copper, if you can read.

You, supporting agents of the far right carrying out a genocide, are a disgusting specimen.

I hereby add antisemitic to your previous and long-standing crime of being a humorless bore. Card marked x2

Can't be a real BOIDS post without the obligatory "lads" pub-moron speak. Did you get hacked?

No it's not nonsense, a copper represents a state's authority via enforcing the law. State representatives stating that a dude's presence is provocative due to his religion/ethnicity- in this case Jewish- shows that London isn't currently fine for Jews.

It isn't a genocide and your mask is slipping.

So that means he can't walk wherever tf he pleases? If not then just what's your point here?

Nobody can walk where they please if a police officer asks them to move on. Failure to move on when asked is a public-order offence liable to cause a breach of the peace. Gideon Falter, an activist accompanied by someone carefully filming, was obviously trying it on. Despite the BBC getting its underwear in a twist, the police sergeant's clumsy phrasing simply isn't important. The officer could see that Falter was trying to start something. Falter, as an aggressively pro-Israeli activist, doesn't like these aggressively anti-Israeli marches going on every Saturday. He's entitled to play that angle, but he's a massive narcissist and troublemaker if he thinks he's entitled to call for the Commissioner of the Metropolis to resign because these marches are permitted. Demos are recreational, they achieve nothing and they all fizzle out at the end of the day.

There's no cogent evidence at all that Jews are unsafe in London. It is a worry, when Israel gets up to something and the River To The Sea lot react, and the Community Security Trust step up vigilance on synagogues and Jewish schools, and people get anxious about wearing a Magen David necklace or a kippah, but nothing has actually happened, and it's been quite a while now. If the Met did ban those marches, as Falter wants, then, without that recreational release, there might be a greater danger of individuals taking it out on people who look Jewish. Conceivably that might suit Falter's book ('See? I was right!'), but it wouldn't be in the interests of public safety.

Didn’t you hear? jalfrezi said it was fine, and to prove his point, spoke to his Jewish neighbors lol.

Yep. 'twas all the Jew's fault...

Accompanied not only by someone filming but also by bodyguards he'd hired for the occasion before claiming he was unable to cross the street without bodyguards.

LMFAO

It's a genocide in progress, and your racism is showing.

Yes, when they ask people to move on for valid reasons, not due to them being openly Jewish. That certainly isn't a valid reason and you're not obliged to comply with a police order based on such reasons.
With respect I never said anything about safety/lack thereof regarding London's Jewish community. Issue was whether or not it was fine, as Chez stated to which my response was based on. Not being fine can mean all sorts of things not necessarily safety related. And again his individual politics are ultimately irrelevant. What if it was an apolitical but openly Jewish person walking past and getting stopped and told the same thing? That's what the issue is.

No it isn't and Palestinians aren't a race either.

by corpus vile P

An "apolitical but openly Jewish person" (horrible phrase of yours) doesn't turn up with someone filming as well as bodyguards, and wouldn't deliberately attract so much attention. gtfo with this bs.

by jalfrezi P

Which means that nobody out of that thrown of people would have filmed it on their phone? Really? Or the apolitical Jew in question wouldn't suddenly start filming after being confronted by such bollocks from a state representative? And the point remains, regardless on whether he went there deliberately or not. Being told to move on due to being openly Jewish is absolutely effin disgraceful, regardless of your spin.

Edit: Oh and just saw your edit (which is a sneaky little trait of yours btw) and I'm not interested in what you think of my phrasing. You can easily have an observant Jew who doesn't gaf about politics and people wearing Yarmulke's shouldn't be stopped for being openly Jewish, whether they're rabid right wingers, fringe lefties or middle of the road or again apolitical.
