Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
I know hardly anyone itt is really trying to be honest. There's a difference between being honest and not lying. On the one hand, it is clearly misleading to call that a chemical weapons attack. On the other hand, if you spray fart spray in any building and someone says "oh, that might be a chemical attack", some people are obviously going to feel sick and go to the hospital. They didn't *need* to go, but they would still go.

And, I think if you fart sprayed someone at random or in a conflict your chances of getting charged with assault are pretty high. It's not nothing.

And 1000% people itt would be calling it a chemical weapons attack if it were done to a group of Jews.

right but lets believe what this terrorist put in his lawsuit. and not the people who were there and victimized.

again, you do this a lot. you disregard what I say and take the most charitable view of what they say.

why on earth would think that it was just some innocuous fart spray that was used? the only evidence that it was something benign is the lawsuit which I mean, I dont think the guy is going to admit he used a banned substance to attack people. meanwhile, in the real world we had at least 10 kids hospitalized and dozens more requiring some sort of medical attention.

you dont go to the hospital for far spray. and you dont get admitted either.

by Victor P

its not misleading to call it a chemical attack when according to Jewish Voice for Peace 8 students were hospitalized and dozens more sought medical treatment.

It obviously is misleading. It's like if you did actually find out that Saddam Hussein used skunk spray and all that happened was a few people went to the ER and were released immediately and felt fine the next day except they had to throw away some clothes, you'd consider yourself misled.

Well, one could surmise Columbia and NYPD (or whoever the relevant jurisdiction) investigated and believes it was something benign along these lines. Do you think Columbia believes one of its students did an actual chemical attack on a group of students that really physically harmed them, and felt the appropriate response was to just suspend them and not press any criminal charges?

Debunked hombre. 10 reported "symptoms". The lawsuit narrowed to the 3 who claim they went to hospital. Not looking like there's much there. The lawsuit will sort it out.

Btw why are you quoting the news? The news is fake, no?

why are we taking the lawsuit as the Gospel? or Torah or whatever.

ya Columbia University and the NYPD are very well known for fairness towards pro-Palestinian students. not like they are fully invested in the Israeli Supremacist project.

So when I post USAtoday next time, is it a good source? Just asking for a friend for next time...

I want to bump this when I use USAtoday and you call fake news

You're not the 100% right you think you are.

If you fart spray all over a crowd at a basketball arena and don't tell anyone what it is, I guarantee you more than 10 people go to the hospital.

What I do is tell people they are doing propaganda when they call this a chemical attack or when they call one person yelling something in NYC an epidemic of antisemitism from the left. I'm not even trying to walk down the middle here. Calling this a chemical weapons attack is like how mets undermines his own position.

sometimes! but the primary source is Jewish Voice for Peace.

The student who is suing was supposedly in the Israeli military.

again, it most likely was not fart spray

as an adult, I couldn't care less what these children at university have to say. they're unfit to opine. next

Whatever. If no one was injured or felt anything like 2 or 3 days later it's BS to call it a chemical weapon attack.

You're not helping your argument by posting these...

Have you guys solved for the fart spray?

I'm not going to respond to that other than to say I'm not responding to that, not because I think it's a good point, but because the conversation I think is counterproductive for the stop the killing side. It's another thing that's not about 40000+ dead people.

Laylas said she still had headaches and sickness on Feb 14.

by Bluegrassplayer P

You're not helping your argument by posting these...

the argument that people were impacted for far longer than a couple days?

I am not helping that argument by posting about someone who claims they were impacted for far longer than one day?

right, well thats bc it makes the pro-Israel side look bad. and there is nothing that would ever convince you to change your view of the Imperialist West.
