Expected august 1st for now

22 May - 18 Jul 2024 United States The Wynn Summer Classic, Las Vegas

Does anyone know which ballroom the wynn uses for their summer series?

Last year when I played a $550 there they just used the big floor space in front of the poker room, which is their de facto tournament series space.

Only time I played in a ballroom there was during Wynn WPT Prime in December.

AFAIK they will only be holding tournaments down on the floor near the beach club.

If its like past summers, no ballrooms. Just the cash game tables plus all the tables out front near the beach club and sportsbook.

cheers!

Last year, I played WSOP.com online tournaments on an iPad during WSOP live events. Anyone know if Wynn or Venetian has issues with players playing online tourneys during their live events?

Joel Baker

Summer in Vegas ODB/25K Charity Pool is now well under way with 57 entries but just one from here: DogFace.
11 events are in the book (7 Venetian, 4 Wynn) with Joel Baker quickly out of the gate (4 cashes for 71 points).
Two teams picked Joel.
It's too late to enter this year but you might want to make a note for next year.
BTW, the real 25K Fantasy Draft is live on YouTube (PokerGo channel) in about 2 hours (you already knew this!).
Here is my blog with the results of the Charity pool:

Just for some numbers, the Sunday "weekly" NLHE that Orleans did to open their series on 26th got close to 600 entries $200+$100 add-on, (can utilize add on with every reentry). The O8 Championship $600 on 27th got close to 200 entries.

Field was soft for both, the NLHE wasn't completed until ~5am.

Expect good numbers from Orleans this summer they have aligned their 4pms for WSOP early bust outs.

Grand Series at GN is advertising a pay by credit card service for buyins - Casinopay supposedly tied to Bravo. No real info on GN site. I can't find anything about it on Bravo nor a website for Casinopay - other than one that markets to casino industry. Anybody used it yet or can direct me to a site? thanks

Are the Orleans events held in the poker room or a separate area? It's been a while since I've been there and am heading out next month. Also, have the alternate lists been long? (I'm arriving late morning in a few weeks and would like to late reg for an event).
Thanks.

In the past at the Orleans they have used the 12 or so regular tourney tables in the poker room and moved some slot machines out of adjacent areas for another 15 or so. Played a $300 NL tourney last year on a Monday morning. Got there about 20 minutes before starting - long line but did get seated for start. About an hour later they had over 100 alternates waiting. Still seating them when I busted 4 or so hours later. JJ

Poker room and tables just outside, alternate list for the sunday NLHE got up to 100 but everyone was "eventually" seated and the 30 min levels and 50k starting (if using add on) make late reg pretty comfortable.

I'm coming out for a week and playing several events. I will be bouncing around to different venues.

I plan on playing at WSOP, Resorts World, Orleans, Golden Nugget, MGM, and Aria.

Any recommendations for buying in without paying extra fees and without waiting in line?

My current idea is go to these venues the night before and try to buy in with cash when there is less going on. It would be nice if I could just wire or ACH without a fee, but I doubt it is possible. Sucks to have to be walking around with a load of cash on me. :(

This is a helpful resource for those who didn't know about it:

https://poker-schedule.com/

They've added a button for Variants (which filters out NLH and leaves everything else which mixed game players like me appreciate).

I know I'm way behind, but this is badass, thanks for linking

I feel like you'll be ok if you just show up early.

I played some stuff at Wynn and Venetian this past week. Got there an hour early. No lines.

Traffic will be up in the next few weeks, but the same idea applies.

Get there early, get your ticket, find a way to kill some time.

Only exception is for the WSOP, where I'd say just buy tickets the night before, 10PM or later.

I bought my Mystery bounty ticket at 9 am , also no lines. No problem at all with this so far

Orleans has a terrible policy of not allowing entry until about an hour before. No matter what you do you're stuck with a wait. You either get there a half hour early, reg when they open, then wait another hour for it to start. Or get in line when reg opens. Then you only have to wait an hour to become an alternate. Then wait a half hour to get a seat. There's no way to avoid it.

Yes, I pointed out what a suck policy it was. Yes I asked why they do that.

Answer: Because we've always done it that way.

Thanks, you're probably right. I have PTSD from standing in line for 2 hours for last year's mystery millions. Never again!

Sounds like Orleans does not allow day before registration. If anyone knows about any of the other venues, I would love to know about it. I guess I could probably call the room the night before, before making the trip.

Considering playing one of the holdem events myself, called in and its 2hrs early that the registration podium is open.

Let us know how long you have to wait.

The night before is the way to do it for events with a small buy-in that get a big turnout. Probably not as much of an issue at Resorts World or Aria, but definitely for WSOP. Especially things like the Mini-Main Event.

The Wynn had a smart alternate system that I really liked. They would call Alternates up to a certain number. So if you are alternate 250 and they are calling alternates in the 80s, you could go play cash games or get lunch.

Anyone got advice for getting in cash games? Is it you gotta play early in day and just avoid the Long waitlists or is it even hard then?

I remember last summer- if I busted a tourny- lists would be insanely long at places like Wynn unless playing odd hours.

Prolly playing mainly tournies but may take a day off for cash. Just reg early in day and don’t leave or just do a lunch/ dinner break?
