To reiterate some of the points:

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

This is true, but at the same time if the UNRWA wasn't fully on board with Hamas, they wouldn't be allowed to operate in Gaza in the first place. The same could be said for the all the "journalism" in Gaza.
So we have to acknowledge the real problem is how Gaza society is organized and controlled; and until this is addressed there is really nothing to do.

Looks like everyone quietly resumed payments. Like I said, what choice is there? Hamas and their supporters know the West isn't going to let Palestinians go without aid, and they dont care if Palestinians dont get aid and suffer for it, so they have all the leverage to force the West to bend to their will.

they usually don't even publish the true stories about USA atrocities... and when journalists do publish them, sometimes they put them in the jail for it

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the strike which killed scores of displaced Palestinians in Rafah was a "tragic mishap".

Kind of a landmark day when calling someone a Victor officially counts as an attack. I'm here for it.
Anyway on actual serious matters, I gotta think this Rafah offensive is not long for this earth anymore. The IDF is making too many costly errors and the global community doesn't have anymore good will for them. And that begs the question:
Why didn't they start with Rafah last fall? I've heard a lot of people ask it, I can't arrive at an answer. It was always going to be a key outcome. Why not do it first while the world supports you? The bungling of shuttling Gazans unfairly back and forth has frankly been a strategic amd humanitarian embarrassment in a sea of them. I imagine this will be studied for years after.
I'm guessing Rafah is done inside 2 additional weeks. Small pause. And then securing the North so that citizens there can return home (it's been over half a year now). Seems like they've built this massive wall of defence up north in anticipation of something big.

He has been locked up in Belmarsh, a high security prison in the UK for the last 5 years.
No. Imprisoned for stealing records of secret information and betraying them to a media source while employed by the US Army, in breach of the terms of said employment. Assange's case is different, as the non-US publisher of the stolen records, and the British courts have just given him leave to appeal against extradition, though I think this is on human-rights grounds related to his possible treatment by the US authorities, not on free-speech grounds. If he were extradited, his defence would rest on free-speech grounds and perhaps jurisdiction grounds (meaning the US can't claim jurisdiction over foreign citizens acting outside the US just because the US feels like it), but that's a way down the road.
It is in part because the usa have failed to give assurances that he will be protected by the right to free speech. That and the death penalty iirc
