Moderation Questions and General Chat Thread
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.

Let me say it non-conspiracy.
My understanding, is browser, a new mod, said he deleted. At that time, I got a severe ban, for nothing anyone is willing to admit or talk about. I don't know how long, about 3 months or something.
Since that time things changed. There is a ton of stuff coming out about how the mainstream narratives were lies, and these things validate points that I was making that BGP was wrapping as fake.
Then a whole bunch silly rules came into play, a bunch of people got slap on the wrist bans, different moderator threads were made, more silly rule changes, and then browser is gone don't talk about their reign.
And here I just want to talk about Prigozhin in the russian/ukraine thread.
Can we get a current mod to put an end to this nonsense again?
Jbouton, you’ve been misinformed I think. At the time the original thread was deleted, there was some confusion as to how that occurred, but it’s been determined that it was an accident from the spam attack on the website. It was just a mistake.
I’ve checked your user notes and the reason listed for the ban you have mentioned here seems to be that you were warned about spamming an issue about another forum, im assuming this may be the bitcoin thing? Anyway, there is a reason noted in your profile, and it’s not nefarious or mysterious. I can explain more privately if you wish.
As far as BGP goes, his posts hold no extra weight here than yours do. I would suggest completely ignoring him if he bothers you. He cannot invalidate your posts and you don’t need to respond to him if it’s to your own detriment.
I’m not sure which of the new rules you find silly, but am assuming they are relating to the Ukraine thread. Gangstaman has made rulings for that thread and those rulings must be accepted and abided. Continuing to battle them in this thread will only bring negative attention to yourself that I know you don’t want.
Browser left for medical reasons, and we all wish him well. I am new here and am very appreciative of your continued cooperation. If you want to go post about Prigozhin in the Ukraine thread, then go do that if that’s allowed. Otherwise, I’d suggest letting much of this go for now and trying to engage in meaningful dialogue in other threads than this one. P&S is your kitchen and there will ALWAYS be heat. That is fact, not a bias against you... fact about the nature of P&S on ANY internet forum. As you are well aware, 2+2 doesn't have the only P&S discussion around.
P&S posting can't be confused with being appropriate for your mental health..... in fact, QUITE the opposite. I have some personal experience with dealing with bi-polar personalities (mother and sister) and many psych sessions trying to help me understand. Not the same, but certainly related. And the overwhelming question that springs to my mind is:

Just so we are clear, none of that is true. And I don't have a caretaker, I don't have such medical conditions etc. I just want to be clear. And that was a PM by a mod.
The notes on my account are stigma and lies.

My first statement in that Private Message is that I sincerely want to know what he is thinking about his 2+2 posts.
The second part of this Private message was to see if he and I could/would open up a dialog about his disease with me. Correctly it states that my family has mental health issues... that I have dealt with for over 60 years..... and that I had some therapy sessions to help me understand how my family has affected me. And how a therapist might have a helpful discussion with him about the MUBS he feels when posting in P&S and other 2+2 forums.
I really can't begin to see why he chooses the routes he takes but by posting the PM, his response appears to be No Thanks.
This Private Message did not "out" jb; he did that himself in an ATF post. The person behind the persona does have TS and my understanding of the disease is... there is no cure. Thus the assumption on my part that he continues to see a therapist.
And I did not publicly assert that jb has any such disease or ridicule/demean/prosecute him. He chose to "out" that fact by posting a Private Message I sent meant to open a dialog and not to be published. And the ATF post.
Revealing intimate and personal details from a private message is totally unacceptable as well, that should go without saying. There's no coming back from that. I'm upset with myself for the part I played in all this.
You didn't play a part in this, unless you mean that you should have banned jbouton before he got the chance to post that. But I think everyone will forgive you if you do the right thing now.
