I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
Campbell just screwed up the campaign bad. In particular, there was an election ad, linked to below, which threw some subtle jabs at Cretein's disfigurement. This did not go overwell with the Canadian public, and was why the conservatives ended up without enough seats to qualify for official party status.
LOL, no. Mulroney was deeply unpopular due to the GST, recession, tax increases, and other issues. His approval rating fell to 12%, the lowest for any Canadian PM since polling began - by a big margin. Even after delaying the election to the last possible date, Campbell had a little over 3 months to turn the ship around. It wasn't going to happen no matter who led the party. That said, the ad was an issue, and Campbell didn't resonate with voters - she's not blameless for the result. But to say it was "just" Campbell screwing up the campaign is to badly misunderstand what happened.
The problem is when u side with a party that embraces fakes news, conspiracy theories and disinformation, you are bounded to be more often on the side of being wrong ….

I've always found the whole "you have to cheer for the Canadian teams" thing really silly. These aren't national teams, they're professional sports teams that play in cities. I'm not cheering for other NHL teams just because they happened to be located in other Canadian cities, just as I don't expect people in other Canadian cities to cheer for the Canucks even if they're the only team left in the playoffs (and I felt that way in 2011 when
Bluejay and raptors I get because they are the only teams in Canada and are not our national sport. But ya for hockey I think it's mostly just media hype and a way for people to stay interested and watch when their teams are no longer in it. Go Florida!

After the US approved firing of US weapons into areas of russia proximate to ukraine that were attacking ukraine, the responding provocation from russia was to send warships to cuba. THe US and Canada like were using their warships to be monitoring the russian boats. What does poilievre say? Oh no it is because he admires communist dictatorships.
