WSOP Millionaire Maker: KK MULTI-WAY

So I’m newish to the table. Got in 30 minutes before registration closed

We have opened a few pots but haven’t really gotten out of line. The table hasn’t seen many 3 bets. Most of the time it’s just been the BB defending.

Villain is new to the table. Chubby middle aged phillipino, who looks kind of a bit degeny (this guy probably plays a lot of blackjack or craps). We have only seen him limp utg once and call a large raise from utg1 and fold to a cbet.

Hero has ~24k

Blinds 600/1200/1200

Preflop: Hero Has K K utg
We raise to 2.5k, Mp calls, Co calls, villain in sb calls, bb folds

Flop: 8 6 4
Villain checks, hero checks, mp checks, co checks

Turn: 9
Villain checks, hero bets 6k, mp folds, Co tank calls, villain raises to 26k (leaving himself with 6k back), hero?

I’m not super happy with this spot but now the pot has gotten really big and about 17 or 18k (all of our chips) to win a massive pot. Is this a sigh fold, or do we just go with it?

It’s hard to put the villain on something that would check twice and then check raise in this spot.

Bet the flop. Wet/dynamic board vs a bunch of passive preflop calls. Why would you give a free card here? Especially being only 20bbs deep you should be happy to bet and get it in right now OTF. Not super happy of course but you can’t bet fold unless fireworks ensue after your bet.

Yeh would definitely bet the flop - there's a lot of money in there and it's not easy to flop sets. On the turn I'm prob not folding either - wierd line by villain

I kinda like the flop check; I could see one of the two villains stabbing ~6k into a pot just over 12k which allows you to x/jam and avoid a plethora of ugly turns. Also think your x/jam still gets called by hands like A8/AJd/ATd/78d/99 not to mention eliciting a fold from some of their holdings isn't bad when you increase your stack by over 75% without showing down. As played, I would fold now. Agreed it's a funky line but recs seem to turn up with it in these sorts of spots (turn x/raises) more often than they don't.

Its easier when there are 3 villains.

Flop check seems standard going for a c/jam vs 1 stab or maybe fold vs a lot of action. You shouldn't be cbetting much at all oop 4 ways on a low connected board, maybe even range check.

I am not folding now, although I wouldn't be trilled about it. Your flop check is probably perceived as weaker than it should be,

I’m pretty sure it’s a call in theory and even more of a call in practice (everyone’s underrepped and villain is degeny on a board loaded with pair+draw type stuff).

If villain went for a x/r twice with a set, then very well played by him imo

I know what you're saying from a theory perspective but this is a live tournament that's extremely soft and we have a short stack so I have no problem playing exploitable.

I’m sorry but I think checking this board in a complete donkfest off 20bb is just criminal.

13k in pot and we have 22.5k behind.

All kinds of junk has TONS of equity vs our hand why would we give a free card?

Agree low wet board we can check range when deeper but seems insane to not go with our hand on the flop in this exact spot, yeah we will run into set occasionally but we have opportunity to fold out **** like A5,A7 and get called by a bunch of stuff we crush?

As played we look so weak and there’s so many draws how can we fold to capped turn jam?

Butchered imho!!!!!

Parkour!!!!!!

Also, in before hero fold, CO calls with A9 and holds vs JsTs.

Tilt, /wrists.

Thanks for the responses.

So in game I tanked and decided that the pot was too large and hoped it was a combo draw or pair and flush draw.

Unfortunately Sb has 7 5

So I guess there isn’t much that I could have done anyways if most people are going broke on the flop.

20 bb. I’m never checking flop. Maybe Cbet 50-60% and just gii. If we fo against a set or better, bad luck. Tourney variance

Sucks @result.

I like the flop check against this flop (callers range) against 4 players especially because we are OOP and get to see what happens (like a bet and a c/r). I would probably c/r all in on a single bet (even with a caller or two).

This was going to be a disaster on the turn anyway after it checks through to us because it looks like nobody hit the flop. I like the turn bet of 6k though I might have made it a little more.

As to the c/r which is all in for us to call it's hard to put us ahead. Would TT/JJ actually check the turn? I doubt it. Similarly why would a draw c/r the turn basically all in? Even if there was a pair and a draw they would have led out. In theory I would fold. In practice I often call.

Though yesterday at the Venetian in the Super Seniors $1,100 I had K5s vs about 4 players and flopped a flush draw. It checked through. On the turn I hit my flush and bet 1000. One caller. On the river another of my suit and old white guy checked, I bet 1000 again thinking he couldn't have the A though he did check his cards on my turn bet. He then c/r to 7000. Lol. I tanked and folded and when I got knocked out I asked him if he had the A and he said yes. Lol again.
