2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

If DK, then for sure 5

If UD, if a value drops to me im fine taking 5, if not I’m also good with 4

This is on dk thanks. I’ll prolly take someone later .

Posting this as a psa why not to go heavy rb early

Qb: Dak , Burrow

Rb: Saquon , Etienne , Rashaad , Kamara , Gus

Wr : Jefferson , DJM, Shakir , Cooks, Johnston , Bateman. Mims, Boyd , Slayton , Jauan Jennings

Te: Muth , Otton , Gesecki

First 3 can work. Kamara and Gus is where you went off the rails.

Also, should have punted QB, especially without early stacking partners.

Took kamara cause every wr I wanted got taken lol. And took Gus cause I thought with the bye week issues I needed a 5th

Is this too much TE capital? I took Juwan in the 18th for correlation w the Lv WRs

Qb - Caleb, Rodgers, Nix

Rb - Breece, Monty, swift, charb, Eli

Wr - Adams, DJM, Tee, Addison, Mwill, Meyers, Franklin

Te - Kincaid, Kmet, Juwan

I think you’re strong enough at RB/WR for it to work, especially paired with Kmet who I expect to have a low weekly floor.

I had a high capital TE build yesterday.

Caleb, Carr, McCarthy

Moss, Swift, Chandler, Gibson, Foreman

ARSB, Olave, DJM, Tee, Reed, Watson, Baker

Kincaid, Goedert, Hock

Went Hock for the w17, plus plenty of coverage for his recovery. But looking back, I think Baker should have been a 6th RB for the 3-6-6-3.

Sometimes you just have to take players you don’t like as much for the sake of construction.

And would have just added a different RB later than Gus for the bye week concern.

I probably would still land on at least 5 RBs, even if I start with the first 3, but just later on for the final 2.

Keaton Mitchell or Likely over Guerendo or Demercado so you have some correlation with Stroud.

Jeudy or Elijah moore for some correlation with Tua.

After taking Kyren, I would've shifted focus back to WR.

Yeah, that team needs a lot of good fortune at WR to make it.

I would have also stopped at 5 RBs after Khalil.

I hadn't fired a DK fast in a few weeks. I rarely go 4 TEs, but it felt appropriate here. I liked Mayer more than the 20th round WRs.

AR, Caleb

Breece, Cook, Brooks, Chandler, Khalil, Bucky

Olave, Evans, Zay, Rome, JSN, Adonai, Downs, McMillan

Henry, Fant, Juwan, Mayer

Seems good. Agree with going 4te on dk when you go that late

Thanks for the feedback. Are y'all not liking any of the players who are gonna receive renewed chance at being elite with new teams? Or is it more that their ceiling to contribute across several weeks may feel capped?

Are you talking about players like Saquon, Keenan, Henry, Mixon, Ridley, etc.? I'm taking some of each, with Saquon and Ridley being the least. Anyone else specific you were thinking of?

I’m in a draft and was planning on doing a double stack and I’ve been sniped on almost all my guys lol

Here’s my botched attempt at stacking

Qb : Daniels , Rodgers , Fields

Rb: CMC, Rashaad , Pollard , Zeke , Laube

Wr: Deebo , Kupp , Kirk , Dhop, Lockett, Johnston , Bateman , Michael Wilson , Slayton

Te : Engram , Otton , Fant

Was going for a Niners / Jags stack

Jeudy possibly. Haven't looked much into what he's done well enough in NFL. Definitely Quez & Cedric who have areas they do really well but perhaps haven't just found the team willing to give them deeper dives. Cedric possession and Quez speed. Oh and Rondale who I think Falcons will like and Kirk might can use effectively.

Sometimes you also can check their ypr 15 is really good but sometimes you have players who have theirs so low as a result of not being used in a standard fashion. I haven't done a ton of study on the ceilings in this regard. But definitely guys with great ypr are good to consider.

Curious how this team performs. I don't draft most these guys but one line of thinking I have says this could be a REALLY good squad if the differences I see in the league can be more pinned on coaches and they pull the rug out on that issue.

Ofc this is my perspective missing the days I first started paying attention to NFL and nostalgia about how a friend was able to approach player assessments

DK Milly - Overall fairly happy with this one except for the fact I got sniped on all my Seattle bring backs*

QB - AR, Caleb

RB - Bijan, Pollard, Singletary, Pierce, Laube, Guerendo

WR - Waddle, Moore, Pittman, Godwin, Odunze, Downs, Wandale, M. Wilson, Toney

TE - Kmet, Taysom, Okonkwo

Someone gets Kenneth Walker at 6.5 (I'm at 6.6)
Someone takes JSN at 9.6 (I'm at 9.7)
Someone gets Fant at 17.6 (I'm at 17.7)

Jeudy is interesting. I don't have much, because I'm usually drafting RBs/QBs/Goedert in that range. But I can squint and see it with Jeudy at his price, especially if reports of him playing in the slot are true. With that said, Jeudy has been pretty underwhelming and guys rarely perform better when they change teams during or right after their rookie contract. Deshaun could also actually just be washed, especially coming off of shoulder surgery.

I'll probably be something like 6% Amari, 6% Jeudy, 10% Njoku, 2% Chubb, 6% Ford, 6% Foreman, and 6% Deshaun for the Cleveland guys. I've been adding some Jameis in the last round or 2 in superflex with Cleveland stacks.

I'm not bothering with Cedric or Quez. I'll play those teams through the top few guys. I think you'd rather be tacking on 1st or 2nd year cheap players with upside at the end of the draft rather than multi-year journeyman.

Although, I do draft a little Rondale, mostly through correlation. He could have a spike week or two. And I don't think much of Mooney.

The triple whammy. I think it still turned out pretty well if the TEs can find some good weeks.

I accidentally misclicked Geno earlier in a Sea/Chi mega stack, when I already had Caleb. I'm not used to DK's interface and had my mouse over the draft button. A player above Chuba, who was my target, went and Geno was the next player on the list, and I clicked too fast haha. I was planning a Bryce stack instead. It could still work out. A lot of worse misclicks I could have made.

Caleb, Geno, Carr

Kamara, Swift, Charb, Lloyd, Bucky (consolation prize in the next round instead of Bryce), Laube

Puka, Olave, DJM, Keenan, JSN, Legette, McMillan, Baker

McBride, Bowers, Mayer - TE cuffing? I forgot I had Bowers when I clicked Mayer, but it was between him and someone like Shipley, Hull, etc., so it's whatever.

Bbm

Qb - hurts, dimes

Rb - Javonte, singletary, ekeler, kendre, Vidal, Braelon, CEH

Got distracted watching the USMNT game and accidentally drafted Allen instead of Hurts w AJB

Qb - Allen, Nix

Rb - Gibbs, Pollard, C Brown, Vidal, Gibson, Estime

Wr - AJB, Diggs, Godwin, Worthy, Samuel, Mwill, Franklin, Tez Walker

Te - Bowers, Schultz

Got sniped on Cook, Shakir, Davis, and Knox when trying to dbl stack Josh lol. I couldn’t get myself to draft Claypool
