$25----->25k Bankroll Challenge on Ignition

$25----->25k Bankroll Challenge on Ignition

I am going to be starting with $25 in my Ignition Account and try to spin it up to $25,000.

I will start at 5nl since it is the lowest stake on the site and be playing Ignition Reg tables only.

I will be updating every 5k hands with my progress.

My expectation for each limit is as follows:

Expected Winrates for each limit:

5NL: 30bb/100

10NL: 25bb/100

25NL: 20bb/100

50NL: 15bb/100

100NL: 12bb/100

200NL: 10bb/100

Variance will be a decent factor in a lot of these winrates but these are just ball park numbers. Once I hit 25k I will take a 10buyin shot at 500nl! As far as moving up I'll move up whenever I feel like it, but probably after winning 30-40 buyins at the limit.

There will be no cherry picking here since you can't cherry pick a Bankroll Challenge. Wish me luck (or not) and follow along in this thread.

DDP will never be successful - his ego/insecurities are massive and I think ultimately will hold him back from success. Talking down to everyone when you've made like 30k lifetime playing poker is pretty lol - luckily you live with your parents and can get away with this.

I wouldn't say that, there are plenty of v good players who had big egos when they played lower stakes but I think a lot of them got past it. MDD's biggest problem is that he views all these comments as personal attacks rather than questioning whether they have merit. It's easier to call someone a hater rather than to consider they may be right, it's just deflection.

Honestly, if he can get past that he could probably do very well, introspection is a huge life skill. There are worse players playing higher/doing well.

100% this.

DDP, the approach you should take here is a community member doing a brc based on a modern playstyle. Drop some cool hands, drop some results, engage in chat as equals, and so on. There are a lot of us around who are absolutely interested in seeing that. I have tried to engage and support that kind of stuff myself, and totally agree with you that a lot of the hate you've gotten is ool and too far.

But to give you what's going wrong here: your approach thus far is kind of an elitist "I'm better than you, I know the answers, I'll teach you all the correct lines," which is an absurd attitude to have. It's good to have confidence in how you play, and it's fine to help some beginners in the micro nl subforum, but you have very small credential at any stake, a low 5 figure lifetime poker earn, and are effectively talking down to players - some of whom are very high level professional players who have been competing in very difficult environments for years - because you got some mda from Saulo Costa and have a high winrate at microstakes.

It's just not good, man. I hope you can come back to the thread sometime and realize that. A lot of us want you to succeed, but that doesn't mean you're approaching things well here. It would help if you treated us as experienced poker players, with many of us being accomplished pros, rather than children who need your education. That doesn't mean your lines are wrong, or worse, or whatever, and plenty of people here are interested in talking about that, but it means we should engage as an equal community. You are not some sort of "Teacher" here. You are a regular community member, and not a particularly accomplished one.

Play your hands, let your winrate speak for themselves, and don't assume you're correct from the start every time you talk to someone about poker because Saulo gave you some spreadsheets. If you interact more as an equal meeting of minds, you'll find a much more receptive and positive community here on 2p2.

This guy is also a coach, and made 2 successful BRC's. Compare his behavior to Doodoo's:

Yeh I just know people in business who never succeed due to these mental barriers even though they have all the talent in the world and poker is no exception. He's set in his ways - the fact alone that he does a micro stakes challenge after claiming to beat 200NL is insane with the amount of money he is torching. The fact that he did that just shows a massive disconnect.

yeah but no-one cares what you old ****s think.

OP doesnt' have to do anything. OP doesn't have to cater to your specific delicate expectations. OP is not on perpetual personality trial (the irony of you all shouting ego and 'mind my feelings bro' is hilarious). OP has done 100x more for generating hand discussion than any of you prima donnas. OP does not have to kiss your arse just to be at the table. OP can learn any way he chooses and there is sweet fa you can do about it. (besides cry like a bunch of whinging ninnies).

Things I care about: poker; poker discussion; generating action; sharing advice; not being a massive ****. That's it. Op is not the devil. If you had bothered to contribute to any of his 10k+ hand analyses you would be fully aware that sometimes, yes, he can be wrong and occasionally abrasive but, christ alive, so what? what thin skins you old guard have! As anyone with half a brain soon realises, most of the time it is far, far easier and quicker to adopt an 'I am right and here is the gambit' approach to studying/posting because otherwise every other word is 'i think' or 'maybe' or 'i don't know' and the discussion falls flat as pancakes. In a subject as complicated as poker theory it is infinitely easier to read and engage with the polemic rather than the abstract and it is embarrassingly petty to get hung up on ‘but you didn’t say it nicely bro’ like it’s the be-all-and-end-all.

Seriously, if you think you've 'won' here by intimidating a rising player who clearly enjoys teaching publicly out of doing their thing to – i might add - a sizable group who do actually care to engage with and hear his thoughts (as opposed to being a grown up and idk, stating your case and then ****ing off?) you are delusional mate.

OP ist like Robin Hood. Stealing MDA from unethical stable, and helping others for free.

It's funny how you call people thin skinned yet you're completely butthurt here over someone else being called out. When you post on the internet you open yourself up to criticism - some deserving, some not, but in his case it's very deserving. His hand analysis is always interesting but he's constantly condescending to replies and talking down to people - why would anyone want to be around someone like that? The guy has a major ego and doesn't have results to back it up - this is just facts. Go fanboy him in dm's

I was enjoying this thread until comments such as these emerged about DPP being "a major ego," "elitist" and someone who "talks down to people". If you don't like the tone, don't subscribe. Just let others enjoy the HHs and the discussion of them and stop wasting our time with needless complaints and conjecture.

Not a bad take but like 95% of active threads don't have these issues. There is something about the way DDP interacts here that bothers a lot of people. 2p2 is really a community where you get out what you put in.

My reaction being forced out of me because of your obsessive/ relentless overreaction. Do try to keep up.

= "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?"

How could you read what I just wrote and then think, I know, I'll play the 'i'm better at poker' card? How is that possible?

I'm free to comment just like you are - these are valid points, and if you disagree you're out of touch with reality.

Lol no I made a couple comments in this thread that apparently hit deep with you and others. The truth stings sometimes.

Let's say Russ Hamilton came to the forums as a coach, offering some good MDA stuff and advice, and doing a BR challenge. Let's say he also showed a big, big ego, talked down anyone who disagreed vs him, and even said 200nl is HSNL. Lots of trolls, haters, even people genuinely wanting to kill him, came to the thread, and his feelings got hurt and he decided to drop the thread. Would you guys, the defenders of those who never asked to be defended in the first place, still come to defend him and say he was giving good advice, ego doesn't matter and it's bad to be a hater?

Just want to say I also realize I have a polarizing personality and I am definitely not for everyone. I also enjoy liking my own posts.

what made you think that was directed specifically at you, i don't know a single thing about you other than that manifesto you wrote was hilarious

What's even better is DDP has MDA that 99% don't have access to and will pose a question to his minions and then degrade you when the answer isn't right against his MDA. He isn't even trying to bounce ideas off of anyone he's just waiting for responses to be wrong so he can show superiority. Really if you don't have access to millions of hands like he does(allegedly) you're not going to learn anything from him - you can't even verify if his plays are correct or not without full access to the data and program(s) to analyze the data. Not sure how applicable MDA becomes at higher stakes but I think if he had clear data on 200NL+ he'd just play quietly and print money but here we are.

Not gonna fully defend DDP here but I would like to point out that what he’s mainly claimed is that bots are beatable (no matter the stakes). The fact that he went about it in a troll-y/condescending way doesn’t equate to him claiming to be a supercrusher where others aren’t. I don’t think he’s ever claimed to be able to beat higher stakes than what he’s played/beaten (not that he couldn’t).

And yeah, DDPs strategy forum shtick got annoying but this is PGC where, as someone pointed out, you actually don’t owe anything to your readers/community.

Kendoo/Goodriddance: you need help mate.. Unless you're a 5d troll account. In which case: bravo!

by Goodriddance P

Please. You're the ****** who agreed with him that bots were beatable whilst demonstrating in the Bodog thread you had 0 clue about how bots operate.

That was his response, to Pontylad. Who plays 1k+ I believe.

Haha One of the reasons this forum is unusable is ppl like you that are clearly on a second account with a personal vendetta

be a man and post on your real account bro
