2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Agreed with mong. This team is fun.
I've seen Worthy falling into the mid/late 6th lately. Of course, when I take Mahomes, especially unstacked, in the 5th, it rarely happens lol. Always nice to at least lock in Kelce/Mahomes, so it's more of a luxury if you're able to get Worthy/Rice in the 6th. I never see Hollywood fall past the 5/6 turn.
Pairing Reek/Nico is also nice.
The Addison fall has already begun. He's been in the mid to late 7th in the drafts I've watched today. I passed on him in a slow after the news broke at the 6/7 turn in favor of Ladd/BTJ. Kind of funny because I had been wanting to increase my exposure the past week or so but kept getting sniped on him. I'll let him settle over the next day or two then probably start taking him again. He'll feel nice as a WR4/5.

For sure. Thanks for adding in those tier/projection notes, as that is also a big part of it.
Everyone has a different tier break, but it's reasonable to argue that this WR tier starts in the early 2nd and goes all the way to the early 4th. Especially specific to the best ball format.
I feel like right after Kupp is the end of a tier in the middle of the third. The next tier starts with DJ Moore, Dell, Diggs etc. It's the great players fighting for targets tier.

I'm not sure. A second incident in back to back summers certainly makes it more likely. And there is real concern that his suspension could actually come later in the season with the current timeline. If we knew a suspension would come in exactly weeks 15-17, I think he would almost be undraftable, even at a way cheaper price.
There is precedent for these concerns. Sam posted multiple examples in this thread.
Either way, the fear of him potentially getting suspended will be enough for his ADP to fall. But in a game chasing the ultimate upside, I'll take the risk in some spots at his new price.

I think people are going out of their way to be unique which opens up value opportunities. I also think we may be seeing some casuals start to peek their heads in. Also, I see people starting to force the Mahomes/Kelce stack by taking them a round early.
Where does LaPorta normally go on DK. You can get him as late as early 4th on UD. I love the combo but I don't know how spicey it actually is depending on ADP.
LaPorta ADP is 17.2 (2.05) on DK but flat with a few others (MHJ, Barkley, Kelce) so it’s definitely a reach but not super egregious IMO.
DK ADPs for Aiyuk/Deebo/Devonta are the 3/4 turn, and it seems you have 0% chance of landing them there on UD.
Whereas underdog has a “WR Avalanche”, it appears there’s a “TE Avalanche” on DK. That 3/4 turn is also where Andrews/Kincaid/McBride are going on DK.
My initial read is that DK drafts are much fishier than UD (both will contain sharks for sure) hence my initial decision to try DK.

McBride/Kincaid/Andrews range 49.2 - 53.1 at the 4/5 turn.

Seems about right. Some people might push JJ at least above Chase and maybe Reek. I won't, but I could see him going ahead of those guys more often now. This will also make it even more less likely to get JJ at picks 6, 7, 8 or 9 now. I haven't seen him fall further than 9. Although, I think there were one or two posts here of him being in the 10-12 range once or twice.
Might need to give a small boost to Jones/Chandler since an Addison suspension could put even more on them in the passing game. I doubt those ADPs will change, though.
Also, it's yuk, but Brandon Powell should probably be in the draft pool in the last rounds. Honestly, he probably already has been draftable but no one wants to do it, especially on UD. This will just boost it a little more.

I have a 4 monitor square setup, but I generally don't do more than 2 drafts at a time. I'll use two screens per draft, one for the player pool and one for the draft board. I'd like to be able to do 4 at a time, especially for Puppy contests, but that will require not always being able to view the draft board. I think I'm going to have to just practice to get used to it.
I've seen some streamers do 10+ at a time, and that's just not for me haha. They simply open a tab per draft and watch the ticker at the top for how many picks away each draft is to know when they're on the clock. Those streamers also tend to like to lock up QB and TE earlier when mass tabling.

Only 6 also feels uncomfortable to me, but I’ve been trying my best to keep it to 7, especially since I’m almost always 4-5 through 7 rounds.
I basically never go more than 8, though.

This is on ud right ? Youre fine with more on dk right ?
Yeah, I think 9 is fine on DK. I’m still not a fan of 10+, especially since the starting lineup size on both platforms is the same, even if scoring varies. So I think a lot of advance rate and playoff analysis on UD translates to DK for the most part.
I think 3-6-8-3 is optimal on DK.
I’m trying to do as many 3-5-7-3 on UD as I can pull off.

It's very possible, especially if UD keeps throwing contests out there.
I tried my hand at drafting 2 fast puppies at once without viewing the draft board while drafting. I only autoed once, and that was because of my internet haha. But it was a shitty auto in unstacked Purdy, so I had to scramble.

I also tried to get greedy and push Stroud, since I was going to be ahead of the Dell drafter in the 7th. That's where QB started to go off the rails. Some red badge guy with a start of ARSB, Aiyuk, Nabers, Hurts, and Kincaid decided 6th round Stroud couldn't be passed on. Then he took Burrow in the 8th after BTJ in the 7th.
The second team is alright, but not my favorite.
