2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

He wasn't but they played at a much quicker pace than I would expect the Raiders too. Pierce is a boomer coach. He wants to run the ball. They have 4 pretty good TE's on the squad so I can see plenty of 2 and 3 TE sets. I think AOC is the favorite to win the job. That's the biggest reason I would avoid Minchew. The Raiders are probably gonna be picking a QB in the 2025 draft. They know what Minchew is. I think they want to get a good look a

They got a good look at AOC last year I think if they want to win they go with Minshew.

Yeah I mean I had 2 unstacked QBs and I had an opportunity to grab a qb I had double stacked with a bring back in the last rd

It was just a gamble on needing to add some qb correlation for cheap on a pretty mid team

They paid Minshew a decent amount of money. He may very well be the guy.

AOC went 5-5 in his starts last year and threw 8 TD's and no interceptions in his last four games. Not bad.

It sounds like it's gonna be a camp battle so who knows.

I didn't notice you had Adams as well so it's fine.

You have 3 rbs that should see the field . That should be enough plus some lotto tickets .

Had a run of a few meh drafts, but pretty happy w this one (wanted to add Bryce or Nix but no luck)

Qb - Mahomes, Carr

Rb - Achane, Zamir, Gus, C Brown, Dowdle

Wr - Chase, Adams, Rice, Diontae, Shaheed, Legette, R Wilson, Mims, Tez Walker

Te - Kelce, Juwan

From the 12. Ended up with a BAL/HOU stack without Lamar or Stroud which could be unique.

QB - Murray, Levis, Carr

RB - Kyren, Brooks, Javonte, Charb, Mattison, Ali

WR - MHJ, Flowers, Ridley, Worthy, Shaheed, Bateman, Robinson, Brown

TE - McBride, Kmet, Juwan

Both of those teams are solid.

UD has released a college football contest, for anyone interested.

Was a 3rd qb necessary? I kinda scrambled to grab a nix / Reynolds stack bc I felt like it was

Qb - Caleb, Rodgers, Nix

Rb - Bijan, Warren, C Brown, Dowdle, B Allen

Wr - Adams, DJM, Higgins, Keenan, JSN, Lockett, Corley, Reynolds

Te - Kittle, Conklin

I wish I knew more about college football bc the edge in these might be massive, but i literally can’t name 18 players right now I don’t think

Haha I feel the exact same way. The edge has to be huge for the people with legit knowledge of the player pool.

Looks like UD did condense the player pool, but I couldn’t even tell you all of the skill players on UNC, let alone the other available teams. Hell, we don’t even know our starting QB right now.

Seems fine. Caleb and Rodgers are both fragile in their own respects.

I’ve also been more fine adding unstacked Carr, Dimes, Nix, etc in the last 2 rounds on teams where I think I need some QB coverage, especially early season. It’s more of an advance rate play than a playoff upside play.

Do you want Nix + Reynolds just to lock in a stack, when Reynolds could easily be a zero and probably doesn’t offer much upside? Or do you want Nix + Washington or Hyatt or Shipley or other young upside bet, who all very likely have more upside than Reynolds? And Nix can still easily fill in for starting QB points.

With so many ppl trying to go unique on the 1-2 turn, I’ve sometimes been getting Puka/Wilson starts, which is insane to me

Qb - Josh, Watson

Rb - Cook, Najee, Pollard, Benson, Wright

Wr - Puka, Wilson, Flowers, C Samuel, Jeudy, Mwill, D Robinson, Tillman

Te - Pitts, Chig, Knox

Feel like this one probably needed a couple rookie WRs for late season potential

That’s probably fair. I guess I just get locked into Leones thing about 3 stacked QBs adds so much ev that I do it in 3qb builds even if it logically doesn’t make sense.

I could see Reynolds being their top wr, but it probably means that nix is having a terrible season and the offense sucks haha

Puka and Wilson is the nuts at 1.12. I've pulled it off a few times. I think I have a few Puka/AJB and Wilson/AJB too, before AJB was basically locked into the 1.09.

That's a fun team. The RB room could be insane if things fall Wright.

WRs seem fine with the youth of Puka, Wilson and Flowers as your top 3. Samuel and Jeudy could outperform. MWill could give some spike weeks. Same with DRob.

I hope camp reports tell us who we really should be drafting between E. Moore and Tillman.

Pitts getting some bullish reports too. What else is new?

More stacks are definitely better. But I try my best to not stack for the sake of stacking if I don't really believe in the player. I.e., if I take Carr unstacked, I'm not going to add A.T. Perry in the last round for the sake of stacking. Reynolds certainly has had more NFL success than Perry, but that's one of the main examples where I'm like, I'll just take someone who I like more than Perry haha.

My very first Little Board team was from the 1.10, and I started Puka/AJB. It's a fun team. Izzy the only one looking like a dead roster spot for now. Interesting to look back at the original ADPs.

Stafford (10.03), Jayden (11.10), Deshaun (13.10)

Pacheco (3.10), Henry (6.03), Brooks (12.03), Allgeier (14.03), Davis (16.03), Izzy (19.10)

Puka (1.10), AJB (2.03), Kupp (4.03), Hopkins (7.10), Hollywood (9.10), Legette (15.10), Malik (17.10), Pearsall (18.03), Baker (20.03)

Andrews (5.10), Njoku (8.03)

Aiyuk officially requested a trade .

Bijan + Aiyuk + Terry + Jayden = the nuts?

I think Aiyuk ends up on Washington btw .

I don’t think Aiyuk is going anywhere. He has zero leverage.

The morale of the locker room though .

Niners are telling teams they aren’t trading him. This will be fun to watch.

Maybe, but I think those concerns are generally overblown. Not like his teammates don't want him to get paid. 9ers also don't seem like the type to cave.

And the problem is that the team trading for him will have to give up significant capital plus give him an extension. I'm guessing the 9ers have also received legit offers to no avail.

Same thing happened with Deebo in 2022. He eventually got extended . Niners just seem to move slow .
