ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Even if the leftist wet dreams are true and there are videos of Trump getting pissed on in a Russian hotel...

Leftists don't care about that ****. Leftists made fun of #Russiagate as much as Republicans did. Leftists and liberals have wildly different ideologies and are passionate about wildly different political issues. I'm sick of this definitional drift. Alllll the right-wingers use it. Joe Biden is not a leftist and certainly not a MARXIST, for ****'s sake. That guy would line us up against the wall if he had the ability and it benefitted him in some way.

America is tired of being world police.

WAT

If we stop acting as the world's police, hundreds of thousands of NatSec professionals and trillions of defense budget dollars would have no reason to exist! Why do you hate the men and women of our precious military-industrial complex? 😡 😵

Ins0, I'm still waiting for your much lauded #AdultsInTheRoom to come in and prevent Trump from winning the GOP nomination, as you repeatedly promised. Is that coming soon? That lone gunman from a few days ago got the closest, but I don't think he qualifies...

Admit that this is what your party is, and that if you're genuinely a NeverTrump Republican, you are a tiny minority (especially considering half of them have joined the Democrats) that has been left behind in the dust.

politcal survival

The 'idea' is that there has been a massive political (and assasination) effort to take him out as a contender for the next president and that it all failed.

Of course there are possible universes in which it's true. Some believe ours is one of them. If we dont understand that then that's our failure.

Maybe it was Justice working normally like it work vs any other normal citizen ?
And I’m generous here , many others wouldn’t of escape the **** he successfully did …..

Europe have to step up. That was always the case and bizarly trump is the one who is making europe realise it.

It used to be so much harder to get people to understand that we can't trust the usa. Very late may be better than too late.

True .
We saw it with Germany and the oil deal they signed with Putin .
How great it turned out .
Trusting authoritarian dictatorship will never be a great strategy .

I think he got justice*. So nothing like normal in the usa, particularly for rich white dudes.

But what we believe is not the point here. Many people believe something different and if we're not just here to score points, we have to understand that. We cannot understand them premised on on what we believe.

*so far on those convictions. Not at all convinced they will hold up or have any force in reality but they might. Mostly he has got away with everything so far and it's all far too late.

That’s the problem isn’t ?
Some people trust facts and some people trust beliefs .
I let u figure out who trust what .

Protection for Donald Trump was boosted several weeks ago after US authorities learned of an Iranian plot to kill him, according to national security officials.

Officials say there is no known connection between the Iranian plot and the assassination attempt on the former president on Saturday in Pennsylvania.

However, the disclosure that security had been tightened raises further questions over how Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was able to climb a building and get close enough to fire at Trump.

I mean, he doesn't really look much like an assassin.

I guess they come in all shapes and sizes.

I dont agree and think that's a common big mistake

It's beleifs all the way down. Some of us hate beliefs that contradict the 'facts' but this is the skeptisism problem. Beyond the trivial it's very hard. Others are far more credulous.

Lord, do you ever take a break from this crap?

Yes but not very often. I am every interested in politics etc etc

You?

You?

You know what I meant. This moronic line you always push that everyone is a special flower and we should respect their opinions equally, even when it's blindingly obvious that both they and their opinions are dumb as ****.

No. That's nothign to do with me.

You do appear to fall in the very credulous camp sometimes but I remain skeptical.

Facts aren’t facking beliefs mate .
That’s what makes it facts …

Don’t go Terrance Howard on me that 1x1= 2 .

The principal that u promote that everything is beliefs is what makes this world a shithole now with non sense of QAnon and conspiracies theories and can’t even acknowledge real problems we have today because they « believe » it ain’t true …

That's not the direction it goes in.

Of course facts aren't beliefs but our minds dont contain facts, it contains beliefs about facts. Sometimes those beliefs arguably consitute knowledge but knowledge is generally very tough.

That in no way makes all beliefs equal.

No. I'm a hard line realist. Reality is not beliefs. Beliefs are part of how we model reality.

lol wtf. that is some lame ****.

"facts are not facts in your mind, they are just beliefs!"

naw dude, i gots facts. maybe you don't trust yourself with the truth?

Sounds more like you don't.

You may have some knowledge.

Nobody gets you, chez. It's quite obviously an "everyone" problem.

Not everyone this is pretty basic epistemology.

If you cared I'd suggest you start with aj ayers classic book. Once you have a basic grip on language truth and logic then have a go with Tyson

If these books read anything like your posts, it's a hard pass from me.

Counter intuitively, reality has nothing to do with how you perceive yourself and everything to do with how others perceive you

Now that just nasty 😀

Republican convention abandons ‘unity’ push.

The party's emphasis on “unity” was nice while it lasted, but it didn’t last long.

http://https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-madd...

I can’t open your link, but as I said previously dems never offered any kind of unity. Biden’s “unity message” highlighted what he saw as political violence encouraged by the right and didn't mention the political violence encouraged by the left.
