i feel bad for anyone caring about twitter

Pretty much this.

by PointlessWords P

yes

he bans accounts that criticize him

elon banned an account that was tracking his planes flights and then showing how ****ed it was for the environment

so yeah, he practices censorship of things he doesnt like.

There is a massive difference between banning people who tell everyone where you are going to be soon (especially in light of someone trying to kill our next President) and limiting political free speech which is what Twitter used to do. What Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites did leading up to last election to people talking about hunters laptop and Covid deserves a hefty fine or an out right ban of the site for 6 months.

I’m glad you finally just took the mask off you disingenuous lunatic

Why does it matter .
President have immunity and it’s not even that is implicated ….
And not even mentioning all the « credible witnesses » end up admitting they lied !

No idea why you have such a boner for that story …
And btw , hunter did got convict for something republicans praise as much as god which is guns ownerships ….
Shouldn’t u actually be defending hunter about that ?

those are private companies. are you saying the govt should be able to control what private companies say?

HHAHHAmickey would like to move the free speech definition/goal posts.

"Political Free Speech"

this is code for "let me lie, it's just my political free speech..."

Trump was breaking laws to try to get Zelensky to announce a sham investigation into Biden....seems far more serious than Twitter and Facebook exercising their first amendment rights.

by d2_e4 P

From what I've heard, he seems to allow free speech only when he agrees with it, and it's not critical of him personally. But I'm not on the tweeter myself, so I just know what I heard from rumours.

Do you think you could give a single example of him engaging in this type of behavior? I'll hold my breathe and wait.

As far as Elon's actual motives, I would say they are:

1. Support his companies
2. Send man to Mars

And not necessarily in that order. He is really into the whole Mars thing, for good or bad. And he views the current iteration of the Democrat party and their dedication to equity at the expense of technological progress as major impediments to that task.

*Builds company better than NASA from scratch*

No, I can't. Keep holding.

Meh.
Scratch is a strong word .
Elon is a capable guy not doubt about it .
He did amazing .
But no one build anything like Elon by himself from nothing …

From 2015 article .

https://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-h....

Elon Musk’s growing empire is fueled by $4.9 billion in government subsidies

Fwiw ,the principle of 0% interest rates over a decade help created other companies that wouldn’t ever been able to succeed as well with more « normal interest rates » .
It’s hard to bankrupt with 0% interest rates .
Ask those 20% zombies corporations for over a decade ….

So it was a pile of money that built SpaceX. I've heard that and other talking points echo'd on this board. Got it.

I've talked to plenty of people who discredit Elon. Still haven't seen anything material that backs up their points.

Reread my post .
I never imply that .
Scratch is a crying word tho .
Doesn’t mean having help and benefited from a special economic era means he isn’t great …

who gives a **** about elon or his individual posting? it's the policies.

it's allowing mis-information to purposely run wild in the name of "free speech", or worse, as HAHAHAHmickey puts it "political free speech", trying to further mask it from what it is...purposeful mis-information....and even going as far as to make it 'legit' in the form of selling account 'validations'.

i don't give a **** what kid he banned or anything about his life.

This guy is a scientist and a youtuber. He has quite a lot of videos debunking/discrediting claims Musk has made going back years, with receipts (meaning if he claims something is physically impossible, he presents calculations why etc.)

https://www.youtube.com/@Thunderf00t/vid...

It's not a political channel, it's a science channel. The closest he gets to politics is talking about the amount of money Musk makes, or I guess he might have diverged a little into politics when the whole twitter saga was happening.

by StoppedRainingMen P

I’m sure kamala took the VP job because: 1. She had presidential aspirations to begin with and it’s better than being a senator from california and 2. She assumed biden would be 1 term and that’s it with him backing her as the Democratic candidate

Suffice to say this didn’t go how she probably expected

Or Biden would be 2 terms but then give it away halfway through the 2nd term to her.

A conservative liberal is a rare species in a extinction phase 😀.

In your country only, sadly. An extinction...
Guess that's what happens when you only have two parties, with one comically calling themselves democrats.

You seem to not even differentiate much between liberal and left. These two "things" are totally independent of each other. And left has a different meaning when talking about possible new immigrants, compared to things within the own country, for example.

I don't imagine you have watched these videos, as they are pretty bad.

I picked out "The Myth of Elon Musk: Busted" (32 mins)....so far the narrator makes fun of Elon for a bunch of things without anything close to demonstrative. Such as the computer game he wrote as a 12-year-old being similar to Gallaga or other games.... huge fail, amirite? I am trying to keep an objective viewpoint....and will finish the video....if anything changes I will report back.

I'm seriously hoping to be proven wrong. But if the best you can come up with is that he inherited money from emerald mines (an unsubstantiated rumor that he denies), then he will have to remain a hero of mine.

Yeah, he clearly dislikes Musk and goes to great lengths to make fun of him, no argument there. From memory, if you want him definitively debunk something, watch the hyperloop stuff. In any case, I'm not trying to sell you on the channel, I found it pretty good but YMMV.

Is your idea of free speech that anything untrue shouldn't be allowed?

If it were not for LeBron James, Elon Musk would be my personal savior man. The Jesus Christ of tech.

that is up to the website in question. on twitter, content moderation attempted to eliminate as much obvious misinformation as possible.

on 4chan, it is the feature, not a bug.

free speech has nothing to do with either. it is called corporate policies.

They are not owned or operated by the government where "free speech" granted by the constitution applies.

you have no "rights" on twitter, 2+2 or 4chan.

Someone once called me McScrubbinDeezNutz.

He had every right to say it.

Until he was banned.
