2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

The snipers are out. Took Josh at 42. Curtis went at 75. Keon at 77. Then Moss was at 103, so surely wasn’t taking Shakir over him. Shakir didn’t come got back to 114.
So I got the elite Knox stack.

Shaquil Barrett retires from Dolphins. They were in the top 5 of the NFL with snaps on offense playing with a lead last season.
The defense is projecting to be quite a bit worse this season. I think I want even more Dolphins, except maybe Mostert.

Injury Prone
Not a high volume guy. His scoring literally comes from scoring, and something like 2/3 of his rushing TDs were within the 5 yard line.
I'd bet on him regressing more than I would history repeating itself, and I'm the biggest Phins fan here who'd love to be wrong.
I’m about even with the field on Mostert. I think his price bakes in a decent amount of the downside being in that offense. I’m fine making the bet he can still have some spike weeks/decent floor TD games, even if TD production dips quite a bit.
But if Mia is playing behind more, he’s likely to see less snaps. So I’m not going to draft him more aggressively like I will the other skill players, assuming that could be a higher probability.
I think it could be very good news for Jonnu and whoever ends up playing more between OBJ/Washington.

I like him because of his cost more than anything .
Looking at this tier. Justin Fields is slowly becoming my favorite QB3 if I can get him around the 18th round.
I already have a good mix of everyone except for Russ (hard pass), JJ (would like to get some more), Darnold (no thanks), and Aidan (maybe I'll get some exposure).
Tried something new by stacking Steelers backfield. Also kept getting sniped on QBs but think it ended up ok

Got Mahomes 14 past ADP, and Hollywood 10 past. Could've had Rice exactly at ADP, but decided to wait a round for Worthy. Unfortunately he got sniped.

Why 3 qb with pat Mahomes coulda took a better wr than breece hall and got rice or worthy later took a pass catching back like spears or pollard

My biggest question this fantasy year is why is it no buzz with Russell Wilson? I understand personality wise he’s bout as corny as you can get, however he’s put up decent years back to back with subpar broncos team. Arthur smith like him or not got decent fantasy numbers out of Ryan tannehill. And we know dfs is a major part in bestball as Russ will start the year off at maybe 5-5.2k that number will increase by the year . I don’t know maybe I’m off my rocker but I think Russ produces top 15-20 numbers this year and supports top 15te and top 10-15 Wr

Russ is washed.
All you have to do is compare him to Cousins. Russ has had the better career and been the better QB in every meaningful way.
Yet, it was Cousins, a soon to be 36 year old coming off an achilles injury who got the 4 year/$180MM deal.
Just my opinion, of course.
If you like Russ, play him.

Don't care for the Jaleel/Estime combo.
If you felt like you wanted a 3rd pass catcher for Burrow, then I like Gesicki over Iosivas. If you needed an 8th WR, then I imagine there were better options available.
Other than that, it's a good looking team.
I mean Russ had .2 less fantasy points than Jared goff

I have almost 0 gesicki (not a lot of iosivas either). Why are you confident in gesicki?
To me he’s one of like 4 TEs on his team and has only flashed upside 1x in his career and it was a while ago
To Russ credit he was deactivated two games that’s not bad considering the round differential you gotta admit

If Russ was likely to start all 17 games (barring injury), he’d probably go right around Carr. However, nobody knows what’s going to happen there
Also, if you look at Russ’s game log you’ll see that he was buoyed by td luck to get those pts. On top of that, Arthur Smith is not exactly a fantasy qb raiser…
Looking at DK scoring, Russ averaged 18.34 points over 15 games. While Goff averaged 18.12 points over 17 games.
Justin Fields averaged 19.17 points over 13 games.
Would love fields but I’m sure he’ll sit Arthur smith n tomlin will want a vet
