President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden

Right now, we need VP Biden, we need him to step down and drop out so Bernie sanders can save this country from this global crisis just like FDR.

A thread to debate the efficacy of a Joe Biden Presidency in the midst of a global pandemic and impending Great Recession/Depression.

Where is Joe Biden? Can he beat Trump and is he even trying to? What would a Joe Biden Presidency look like in these times? Where is he and why isn't he leading?

Oh, and I'm calling it, Joe is dead or will be within 2 days. There's some smoke here, plus, it would make for a very entertaining bit of news. Why not?

If Joe has in fact gone to meet the big orange man in the sky, and Kamala proves competent at taking over the reins for the next few months, Republicans might just end up being the dog that caught the car again.

If Joe has in fact gone to meet the orange man in the sky, how do you feel about the white house transparency the past few days?

Where's Joe Biden?

Couldn't give a ****, why what's the problem? Let the man die in peace.

I think there's policies and procedures that are meant to be followed when the president is incapacitated. Could be wrong.

Maybe they are being followed, it just hasn't been publicised? Who knows. If the question is "were there policies and procedures that were not followed when the president was incapacitated?" then I agree that could be problematic.

I had no idea what Keystone was until googling it just now. A pipeline is not the kind of thing people are worried about Trump doing in a second term.

Horsenuts loves to point out what he sees as hypocrisy or contradiction. The problem is that he is not very good at identifying hypocrisy or contradiction, so ends up shooting himself in the dick every time.

AI ftw: While there is no legal obligation to notify the public, the President, Vice President, and other government officials may choose to disclose information about any changes in the presidency to the public in the interest of transparency and to maintain public trust in the government.

keystone XL pipeline it would transport crude for Canada to the gulf. it has virtually no positive effect on this country other than some temporary jobs that may or may not go to americans. Lozen is the only one here that might actually care about it.

it became some big anti-environmentalist/anti-indigenous rallying cry for the right because the left got it cancelled.

have impediments been removed such that a dictator could push it through now? or would Dictator Trump not have that power?

The reason this is different despite your repeated attempt to imply there is some contradiction in people's arguments is that Keystone is something that could have been done through legitimate governance if it had been a priority. The reality is that it was not a priority so very little political capital was put towards it. The impediments that have been removed would make it easier in a second term if he actually cared about it but the main reason nothing happened in the first term was a lack of caring, not a lack of ability to do anything about it.

That's why there is no real reason to expect a second term to be any different when talking about Keystone, unlike the arguments regarding dictatorial possibilities where there was a clear effort at the end of his first term to try to stay in power unlawfully and the impediments being removed might actually make a difference if he tries again.

So now that Biden is back, is house going to do the whole "oh, I was just pretending I fell for dumb facebook conspiracy nonsense for funsies" routine?

Interesting. I think a lot of the 'lack of care' was due the amount of time and effort to overcome regulatory hurdles and battles with indigenous and EPA. If those impediments are gone and it's basically just 'go build it' seems much more likely to get it done if doesn't need to spend resources on it.

Where's Joe Biden?

This is the fascinating thing about people/politics. We live in a story and narrative and all "the facts" either support it or can be dismissed

The same people terrified about trump being a dictator seem to show zero concern with their own side. From a neutral perspective stories with the similar strength or better pile up on their side but one by one they get dismissed and are total nothingburgers while every trump action is ominous. He's a threat to democracy

Democrats

-conspired with deep state and media to frame trump as a russian asset
-fabricated impeachment over a phone call
-built a story of insurrection from a protest that turned in to a riot
-weaponized the legal system to set totally new legal precedent for 30 something felonies
-have open border policy and trying to grant the illegals a right to vote
-have just circumvented the nomination process to appoint kamala
-are now keeping the world in the dark about a missing biden

Don't bother disputing these points. That's not the point. The point is, they're just as strong or stronger than your story about trump being a threat to democracy. The story/ narrative in your head dismisses these things and finds trump super threatening. The same thing is happening on the other side. You aren't more clever or civilized.

There are people closer to the middle with less clouded judgment. Those people are probably wondering and talking about missing joe biden in a joe biden thread right about now

When did you become so well informed on the amount of effort that went into trying to get it to happen in the first term?

Regardless, you're conflating Republicans caring with Trump caring. Even if it was major goal for Republicans there's no way that Trump cared a single iota about that pipeline. The changes that have happened have mainly been around executive power/immunity so it's what Trump cares about that matters. Maybe some close advisor could persuade him that it's actually important enough for him to do something about but I'm not convinced there's anyone who could get Trump to actually care enough about something as mundane as an oil pipeline when it's going to have basically no impact on popular he is with anyone in the US.

Curious if there's ever been a time in the past 100 years where a US President wasn't seen for 6 days. Anyone recall such a time?

Actually it is the point with regards to the derposphere. The points are all fabricated lies.

Yes, but those tards believe them. That’s the problem.

Don't question anything. Listen to mainstream media. They will tell you what's true and what to believe.
