President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden

Right now, we need VP Biden, we need him to step down and drop out so Bernie sanders can save this country from this global crisis just like FDR.

A thread to debate the efficacy of a Joe Biden Presidency in the midst of a global pandemic and impending Great Recession/Depression.

Where is Joe Biden? Can he beat Trump and is he even trying to? What would a Joe Biden Presidency look like in these times? Where is he and why isn't he leading?

I'm not running for president, so I don't need to release my tax returns, genius.

Do people running for president need to release their tax returns?

Moreso than I do.

Do you think "where are your tax returns" is an appropriate rebuttal to "where are Trump's tax returns"?

by d2_e4 P

Here are some simple questions for you:

Which tax returns did Trump promise to release if he was elected?
Which tax returns did Trump release when he was elected?
Which tax returns did Trump ultimately release?

I'm not running for president, so I don't need to release my tax returns, genius.

Well according to Wiki of all things they released 8 years worth of them in 2021 which would predate 2016 when Hillary was trying to make it a huge issue. Were you needing 1992 or something?

by MrDavitWilliam P

Yes. He needs to release them all. But he won’t. He’s crooked as hell.

Have you owned the fact that you’re part of the 30% of weak-minded fools who need an authoritarian leader to feel safe? (That’s a rhetorical question. The answer is clear. You’re oblivious to your condition, not unlike a mental ******.)

A tad disappointed. I'm supposed to be a racist, fascist who's in a cult. I only get the 30% comment from you. The dems are truly losing their game at this thing.

Interesting, the first paragraph of the article "Tax Returns of Donald Trump" says 6. You must have had Trump himself as your "lying" coach, you are terrible at it and can't seem to help yourself from doing it.

Also, someone else obtaining them is not the same as him releasing them.

Lol no. That part was silly. I only cared to engage with the last sentence of your post because you were alleging a condition precedent to running for president is releasing tax returns.

Is he required by law to release his tax returns as a candidate? Did it hurt when they found nothing on them, and no ties to Russia?

I don't really give a **** about his tax returns, I just find it hilarious to watch the carrot gobblers like you weasel and squirm and lie trying to defend every horrible thing your master has ever done and every single lie he has ever told.

Notice how you've shifted the goalposts from "he released his tax returns" to "he is not required to release his tax returns" or "they found nothing incriminating in his tax returns" when it was pointed out you were, to put it charitably, mistaken? This is called, again, to put it very charitably, bad faith posting.

I was not, I was just pointing out how ridiculous it was to make it about me.

Oh you really got me on 6 vs 8 years. He's still not required to release them to run for president.

"Master" lol.

How the parties choose their candidates does not have to be the same process as the actual elections. I know lotsa Trumptards are uneducated and thus never learned how to think critically (which is why Trump loves them. They eat up the bullshit he feeds them without questioning it.), but that’s how it is. There are no “coups” within a party that could ever be on par with a “coup” of an actual government.

In fa

I don't think repubs are complaining about the coup.

They just find it funny that the party that says the other side is a threat to democracy literally took the decision away from their voters because their candidate was so unpopular 4 years ago they knew she couldn't win a primary this go around.

Nobody said he was. What they did say was that it looks super shady that he didn't, especially after promising to.

by gmcarroll33 P

It was never really made many headlines but the returns did show over $400 million of personally guaranteed debt to persons unknown, along with plenty of debatably legal tax avoidance techniques on scales way beyond most of the wealthiest filers in the US. There's also the less serious but more comical evidence that his boasts about his businesses were almost universally somewhere between giant exaggerations and outright lies (big shock).

Also to be clear, Trump never voluntarily released anything. Everything that did eventually become public was obtained under threat of, or as a direct result of, legal action.

Is the view in thread that the IRS is incompetent?

So, let's do a quick check on your last few posts, gmcarrotgobbler:

Trump released his tax returns - lie
It was 8 year's worth - lie
Nothing incriminating was found - highly misleading, mostly a lie

You're on a roll, slugger! No surprise, you had a good teacher.

Ugh your posts are such uninformed dogshit.

Thank you for making my point for me about Trump and the uneducated. A political party taking the decision away from the voters is a threat to the viability of the PARTY. A POTUS taking the decision away from the voters is a threat to the COUNTRY.

I know you likely still won’t see the difference here, but some will.

So the Dems guaranteed to lose? Why are yall losing your minds? They don't find it funny, they are mad as **** all over Twitter.

Here is the timeline right now:
1. Republican demand Biden drop out
2. Biden drops out
3. Harris gets the party blessing
4. Republicans lose their ****ing minds

Are Democrats supposed to just not have a nominee?

Source on this?

Question for normal people ITT: do these people even realise that they're lying any more? Seems like the narrative is "true" regardless of any pesky facts that might get in the way. Is that like some sort of pathological mental condition? Like, what was with the 6/8 year thing? So easily verified. Just lol.

It'd be more surprised if anyone thought that it wasn't largely incompetent. There were no audits at all on Trump's taxes during the first two years of his presidency and the only one that did start never even completed (I don't know that this is anything specific to Trump, I'm presenting it purely as evidence of the IRS's incompetence).

It's not entirely the department's fault though, it's been underfunded for decades to the point that it doesn't have the capabilities to properly audit the complexities involved the filings of people who abuse loopholes/weirdness in the tax codes as comprehensively as Trump and his ilk do.

i'm still waiting for the person that voted Biden/Harris in the primary that didn't think Harris would take over for Biden if needed. those are the people that these republicans seemingly care so dramatically about. everyone voted for this ticket in the primary.

Is the hope that from seeing his tax returns people can crowdsource results that the IRS was unable to figure out?

The 6/8 thing was a reasonable statement. The Ways and Means investigation obtained and released to the public 6 years of tax returns. Later when the Manhattan DA was investigating, Trump's accounting firm handed over 8 years of returns to the DA after the Supreme Court ruled that he didn't have immunity. As far as I'm aware those were never made public though.
