ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Ghislaine Maxwell?

A hint of Maxwell's service to Israel was provided by John Loftus and Mark Aarons, who described Maxwell's contacts with Czechoslovak communist leaders in 1948 as crucial to the Czechoslovak decision to arm Israel in the 1948 Arab–Israeli War. Czechoslovak military assistance was both unique and crucial for Israel in the conflict. According to Loftus and Aarons, it was Maxwell's covert help in smuggling aircraft parts into Israel that led to the country having air supremacy during the war.[56]
Distribution of PROMIS software to facilitate Israeli spying
edit
Maxwell is alleged to have distributed a bugged version of a software, PROMIS, to a plethora of national governments and global financial institutions that enabled mass spying by the government of Israel.[57]
Maxwell was allegedly able to sell the bugged Israeli version of the PROMIS software to Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory, two of the most important nuclear research and national security facilities in the United States.[58] Maxwell allegedly employed John Tower, Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services, to facilitate the sales of the bugged Israeli version of the PROMIS software to Sandia and Los Alamos.[59]
Mossad allegations; Vanunu case
edit
The Foreign Office suspected Maxwell of being a secret agent of a foreign government, possibly a double agent or a triple agent, and "a thoroughly bad character and almost certainly financed by Russia". He had known links to the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), to the Soviet KGB, and to the Israeli intelligence service Mossad.[60] Six serving and former heads of Israeli intelligence services attended Maxwell's funeral in Israel, while Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir eulogised him and stated: "He has done more for Israel than can today be told."[61]
Shortly before Maxwell's death, Ari Ben-Menashe, a self-proclaimed former employee of Israel's Military Intelligence Directorate, approached a number of news organisations in Britain and the US with the allegation that Maxwell and the Daily Mirror's foreign editor, Nicholas Davies, were both long-time agents for Mossad. Ben-Menashe also claimed that, in 1986, Maxwell informed the Israeli Embassy in London that Mordechai Vanunu revealed information about Israel's nuclear capability to The Sunday Times, then to the Daily Mirror. Vanunu was subsequently kidnapped by Mossad and smuggled to Israel, convicted of treason and imprisoned for eighteen years.[62]
Ben-Menashe's story was ignored at first, but eventually journalist Seymour Hersh of The New Yorker repeated some of the allegations during a press conference in London held to publicize The Samson Option, Hersh's book about Israel's nuclear weapons.[63] On 21 October 1991, Labour MP George Galloway and Conservative MP Rupert Allason (also known as espionage author Nigel West) agreed to raise the issue in the House of Commons under parliamentary privilege protection,[a] which in turn allowed British newspapers to report events without fear of libel suits. Maxwell called the claims "ludicrous, a total invention" and fired Davies.[64] A year later, in Galloway's libel settlement against Mirror Group Newspapers, Galloway's counsel announced that the MP accepted that the group's staff had not been involved in Vanunu's abduction. Galloway referred to Maxwell as "one of the worst criminals of the century".[65]

Supporters of the felon Trump, please help me understand how Trump’s criminal prosecutions are “lawfare” brought on by the corrupt Biden DOJ but Menendez’s prosecutions aren’t. Thanks.

Here’s a link to the story. There was nothing on this on FoxNews (duh).

Fox News isn't much different than the other MSMs such as CNN and PMSNBC, and there are also just as many (if not more) corrupt republican politicians as there are democrats. The DS doesn't discriminate (duh).

It was so buried on Breitbart (I’m not sure what Trump cultists view as credible media, as any source that dares criticize Trump for anything gets attacked) I had to use their search function to find the story.

Please explain why the prosecution and conviction of Menendez was not DOJ weaponization but Trump’s prosecution and conviction was. You conveniently ignored that part. Address it.

It can be summed up in one word. Evidence.

oh man you can bet JD Vance will be replaced at like +600
I might take some of that action.

It can be summed up in one word. Evidence.

What nonsense are you babbling now?

The jury saw the evidence in both cases and in both cases found the defendant guilty.

Please now explain how you know (but the jury didnÂ’t) evidence in TrumpÂ’s trial was bad but the evidence in the Menendez trial wasn’t.

Well for one that person that convicted Menendez did not campaign that if he got the job he would go after him while the other did

He literally just said he would continue the investigation that was started by Vance when asked.

So what? They still need enough evidence that a jury of their peers convicts them, and that is EXACTLY what happened. Or are you suggesting the process was corrupted somehow and if so, you’ll probably need evidence. (Trump saying so isn’t evidence, it’s verbal diarrhea.)

Yeah I’ll put him on ignore. Dealing with him is like trying to teach calculus to a kid who can’t even add.

“If I make the varsity basketball team, I’m going to challenge LeBron to a 1 on 1 matchup!!”

If I make the team, does that mean I’m going to beat LeBron 1 on 1? Of course not. He’d KILL me, cuz I got nothing but talk. But the prosecution DID have something other than just talk on Trump. So, Trump’s criminal ass got convicted. It’s not that hard.

With Biden dropping out, looks like Trump has a lock on the election. The American people don't want Kamala Harris even more than they didn't want Hellary Clinton.

Looking at the polls in the last 2 days only (polls that started 7/22 or later) it looks like Kamala is doing better than Biden. And Biden did better than Hillary.

- Kamala down by 1% (2% with Likely Voters)
- Kamala down by 2%
- Kamala up by 4% Kamala up by 2% when it is only against Trump

It's crazier than that. Here are some swing state polls:

GA: Kamala down by 2% of Likely Voters. Down 1% when heads up against Trump. Biden was down by about 6% in Georgia...
PA: Kamala down by 2% Likely Voters heads up against Trump Same poll Biden down by 9% heads up

On a Kamala internet Zoom phone call a couple of nights ago (I think 7/21) there were 40,000 black woman. This call was then streamed on another platform where an additional 50,000 black women watched. Previously on this weekly phone call there were typically several hundred black woman. The next night they decided to do it with black men. There were 50,000 black men on the call.

What is crazy is that GA may be back in the picture. If Stacey Abrams decides to do her GA thing again there will be a lot of new black voters in GA...

Trump is a stick, honestly don't think 10 a side is enough after seeing that display of playing.

I dont think trump is up at all rn but I do think kamala will get a bit lower as the weeks come out I think she got a initial buff but it wil wear out, as nate silver said we will know more mid august

by hansmolman P

Probably his daughter

That was my guess, but I didn't want to assume.

I think you guys talking about "Maxine" actually mean Ghislaine Maxwell. She is the woman with Elon Musk in the second photo, former girl friend and later business associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently in prison for child sex trafficking and other offenses in connection with him.

Seems like a good bet at those odds, but I don't like betting what is still a longshot.

Where do you make these bets or get the odds?

GA: Kamala down by 2% of Likely Voters. Down 1% when heads up against Trump.

**************

What exactly are the percentage differences here? Do the first numbers include the possibility that Trump will somehow not be the Republican nominee? Or that there will be a significant third party vote?

Huh?
