Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

You know you who it is already. Can't recall my old password or even what email I used so here we are. I promised I'd start logging if legend n1h did. So that's why I'm logging.

Short term goal:
Successfully formulate a relatively optimized and easy to adhere to offseason diet model. In terms of food selection, I am more or less following Chris Tuttle's recommendations. Our very own BGP has been getting some free diet stuff from Chris since he has a full client load but will send a handful of emails to people for free if you ask nicely and want help. If you don't know who that is, go on youtube/instagram and see the man's work.

Remain injury free, which is easy with my new exercise selection which loco would describe as "leg press and lat pulldown 4 lyfe"

Adjust to a more strictly bodybuilding programming style as opposed to a "powerbuilding" style.

Here is the medium term goal:
2024 summer on stage in classic physique division at a level that would be competitive for winning a pro card. Winning the card itself is immaterial for the medium term, it'll happen when it happens and I will be patient.

Possible obstacles to this goal are gym closers due to continued zero covid policy, possibly moving countries and being unable to focus on prep in the interim, or international political disaster. All of which are legitimate risks.

Ostensibly we will start competition prep late winter 2024 and do a very long slow 20-24 week prep where I never need to bring carbs lower than 200g/day.

Long term goal:

Compete in one professional level show in the classic physique divison in the next 10 years. Don't really give a **** about placings.

Natty: No. Test, deca, mk677, humalog, cjc with 1295 with DAC, berberine (although the last one is both a PED and a general health supplement). Low doses. high dose AAS are massively overrated for hypertrophy, the real magic is the insulin and gh (or gh secretagogues in my case). less than 1g of injectables with PEDs that work on the IGF pathway is much better than 3g of injectables, for example. I'd advise anyone who wants to go down the PED route to incorpoate gh or gh secretagogue peptides along with insulin while they are still taking 1cc of test per week before you ever add any other AAS or increase test dose. You can keep your AAS doses much lower if you actually address this very critical muscle building pathway rather than solely relying on AAS, which are harsh... man...

No prep drugs or harsh AAS until the aforementioned 2024 late winter date.

Diet: High carbohydrates with carbohydrate cycling (2 high days the day before my 2 leg days, 1 low day on the day off, 4 medium days per week offseason), moderate protein around 1.125g/lb of bw, low to moderate fats. I tried a high fat Palbumo approach in both offseason and precontest this academic year. It was a ****ing disaster; this is a terrible way to diet for bodybuilding. Although if somebody is not trying to look lean/dry/hard on stage and maintain athletic performance in the gym, it'd be a great diet to follow because antecdotally it can lead to very high compliance for some individuals because it just destroys so much of your physiological cravings and lowers appetite considerably. Somebody like the apple-pied obese woman who's username I don't even remember might do well on this because she could probably eat 80/20 ground beef bunless bacon cheeseburgers twice a day for an emotional high, not feel hungry the rest of the day, and have only consumed like 1800~ calories daily.

More detailed post with training program and food log to follow. I'm a busy man.

Okay I realllyyy want to go on a rant about how having that cosmetic surgeon girlfriend completely changed my outlook on human natur eand made me realize that I probably should have gotten into that industry instead of the one I did. But anyone who's been seeing my posts since I came back is probably tired of hearing about it. Check the Qoves studio videos on the topic instead cause I ain't writing it.

I thought everyone knew my name was Isaac... it's a very distinctly black name.

I actually didn't know or remember somehow. But probably just because I've always wanted your name to be Emo Ken.

Coaching forever.

Forgot if I posted it already, excuse the redundancy if so, but a client said something to me once that made me think this might be a viable career path for me (in terms of how psychologically rewarding it is, not in financial terms). His exact words were "My wife complimented me on my appearance for the first time in our relationship of 9 years".

The way you look massively influences other parts of your life, even w

I was about to ask if you might not find coaching repetitive until I got to the last few paragraphs. Bolded makes sense.

Legs yesterday
seated hamstring curls: 3 sets failure
lying hamstring curls: 3 sets failure
Hip thrust: 5px20, 12, 9
leg press: 3px7, 2px20, 2px27, 2px18
leg extensions: 3 sets failure

I tried a pendulum squat. I realized I just hate every single ATG squat movement where you are using your legs to push your body through space under load. I love movements where you use your legs to push a load away from you or unilateral patters where you move your body through space. So single leg squats, lunges, and leg press. Squat patterns that are externally stabilized... it just feels so weird to me I can't get used to it. I could see a hbbs cumback, however. Squatting feels fine when not externally stabilized. For these 3 weeks it'll probably be leg press mostly as this leg press feels good in general.

I think now might also be a good time to finally drop free weight presses. It doesn't hurt my bicep/pec tie-in while doing the movement, but that doesn't mean it isn't the culprit that has been causing me all of these problems. I've hugely improved my internal rotation on the right side but it's been bothering me ltierally since 2011. I've tried so many dozens of things over the years trying to fix this recurring pain all to no avail. I am going to try machines only and maybe add in free weight pressing as final movement only. When I let go of squats my leg development blew up from both getting better connected with movements and never having knee pain anymore, never having to take time off. I think it's time to do the same with free weight pressing movements... My new gyms all have tons of machine only options. I could also include pushups for some stabilizer work. My gyms also have multiple cable apparatuses and smith machines. Something like a cable/machine fly, pushups, a machine press, and then another fly movement could be a great chest workout. I'll need to add more volume for shoulders as I've found that free weight pressing has tons of stimulus for shoulders where machine presses really don't. A lot of the greats like Phil Heath or Milos completely dropped free weight pressing motions from their chest and shoulders workouts; it can definitely be done. The main reason I didn't do it before was limited equipment/smith machine never available/zergling hive crowding what machines are available.

It'll probably be much easier to train 6x/wk if I take out the free weight presses as well.

Training pull tonight at BPC gym in BKK; my favorite gym in all of Asia.

I remember I also did neutral grip db presses as 3rd or 4th movement for a while and had 0 issues at that time. I do feel like there's something special about free weight pressing that isn't special about free weight pulling or leg movements. I'm kinda schizo on this and constantly changing my mind.

Cbum's latest olympia prep chest workout.... 0 free weights.

IF you don't know who cbum is I kinda consider you fake fitness, and frankly kind of a loser. EVen 16 year old Chinese girls who don't lift know Cbum and schlick off to him occasionally.

You also don't ened to rest as long on machine presses as you do on free weight presses, where i really feel like sometimes i need 5-7 minutes to not experience a huge drop-off after the first set. I'm always trying to do shorter and more frequent workouts, afterall...

Just existing and being an example of somebody who can have a real career but still have real hobbies and maintain a physically active lifestyle while bringing my home made healthy lunch to work every day probably influences my students as much as what we actually do in the classroom. I've probably posted many times about how badly my own high school teachers failed me both in terms of transferring academic skills but also as role models or mentors.

Pull workout
Unilateral pulldown machine: 2.5px12, 10, 8 each side. Didn't connect all that well
underhand rows: 70kgx14, 10 little pr here
chest supported row machine: 2px16, 12, 8 didn't feel great on my left scap. I'll do a different horizontal pull. I forgot about the tiktok rows today
other kind of pulldown: .5px12, 9, 7 this connected a ton better
ez curls: a 5kg plate on each side of the ez barx30, 3 more sets myo rep matching

BKK has an American style Chinese food restaurant. I snap called as it's been many years since i had this stuff. I remember back when I was 23 or so I went out to panda express with my Chinese friends at the time and asked "do you guys like this? it's not like real chinese food". They laughed at me and said "no, this is much better than what we'd eat for this price in China" and I was baffled. Fast forward a few years and I completely understand what they mean.

I sometimes forget how completely awful Chinese food in mainland China outside of tier1 cities is In SH/Beijing/Shenzhen etc sized places, it's legit. And Chengdu had a huge selection of very good and very cheap foreign food; I'll definitely be missing that during offseason but it's almost good NOT to have it available when dieting.

The Gansu Muslims places near my new place are very edible and very bodybuilding friendly, but a bit pricey when you add extra orders of meat to fit macros.

Anyway, it was excellent. Panda express ripoff. Actually the first cheat I've had since i got here; the rest has been boiled chicken breast with various sauces and the chicken broth rice with cucumber, cream of rice, protein shakes, and tons of fruit.

Okay. I'm going to try low incline db pressing every 3rd push workout; so it'll be something like push 1: incline smith, push 2: machine press, push 3: low incline db press for the first movements and then do 2-3 more movements.

I'm really unused to the movement pattern for incline smith so I'll be doing that as first movement for the first 2 push workouts until I go back to China and do it as 2nd movement on the low incline db press workout as well b/c I need to build up the skill in this movement.

Hey 😡

Well Soulman in my head you're around 58 years old and Loco is around 74 so I don't expect you guys to be in touch with modernity. Maybe more related to (extremely) advanced age than fake fitness or loserdom. Cha's in his 90s now right?

Push
Incline smith: 1ppsx12, 10, 9 holy **** this smith was heavy. I did incline smith with 1.5p as second lift at my other gym and it didn't feel even close to as heavy as 1p at this gym. Felt about 75% triceps and delts, 25% chest
Incline machine: worthless 3 sets didn't feel it
flat machine: 1ppsx12, 10, 15 felt very good
Machine fly: 3 sets failure Felt ok but I'm gonna do cable flies instead next time
prone delt raises: 5 sets
delt raise machine: 3 sets
tricep pushdowns: 5 sets failure

Guys I did a lot of ****ing around on my phone, socializing with some Chinese old lady from HK who just moved to Thailand a year ago, and not being focused. But it's okay because today's push session was more about figuring out what movements work well for me at this gym that don't involve free weights.

Despite talking up smith I might actually drop that and do some other machine variation because I just didn't feel it in my chest as much as I wanted to. The flat machine was ace though, loved that one. Flat machine, cable fly, and then figure out one more incline machine pressing motion. The gym has a lot of options so I'll play around next time. Or just continue with smith and change the angle a bit to see what happens.

After I dropped hbbs and started experimenting with different leg routines it took a very long time to find something that works for me, but once I did my progress blew up. I'm hoping I can make a quicker similar breakthrough with push workouts going forward, but it may be eaiser or harder given that smaller variety of pressing motions compared to leg motions.

I'll prob train legs tomorrow.

At least you think loco is older than me. i'll take it!

Dude I remember thinking he was already ancient and super out of touch with the youth even when I was 24. He was talking about his fertility when he was already like 45 and puzzled that he attracted the attention of "milfs".

You seemed younger than you really were always, but I'm not sure why. Something about red wine I suppose.

My time to be out of touch with the youth will come too, I'm sure. Probably as soon as I enter that principal role and can't have as much of a cortdial relationship with my students or if I leave teaching to coach, I'll be a clueless old man with no clue about modernity too.

I mean by virtue of posting on an internet message board, all of us are out of touch. I'm doing it from a ****ing laptop computer too.

Since feelwrath asked, here's a pic of a girl I didn't bang but did go on 2 dates with and still talk with. I post her pics because she is easily the most conventionally attractive woman I've ever gotten interest from, which was extremely flattering even though she's not the type I usually go for. She has a really interesting life story... parents divorced and mom actually took off, she and her brother were raised by a single dad. She grew up in Myanmar/Golden Triangle. I didn't even know what the Golden Triangle was before a year ago. Basically it's an area bordering Myanmar, China, and some other country I can't recall (Thailand possibly) which is sort of chaos and loosely controlled by warlords and chinese gangsters. Despite this, many enterprising normal non gangster Chinese people go to the Chinese gangster controlled areas of this place and work regular jobs. They have regular schools and regular restaurants where everything is written in Chinese and wechat pay is accepted even now in 2024. They have these sort of "Chinese gangster controlled" areas in Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, and probably other places I'm unfamiliar with. It's super ****ing dangerous lately and there's tons of human trafficking/slavery going on there now, but from what I understand it was less dangerous back when she was there.

Anyway, this story is getting unfocused. She's a freak, and a very weird dude by single father+Myanmar alone. She also works doing design work for a luxury car company and still lives with her dad in the same house she and him and have lived in since she was 12. I think she's 29 now. That house is right next to my old school and we went to the same gym for a while and I stared at her all the time between incline bench sets. I finally spoke to her after seeing her in there for months and she was super nice and even called me handsome in English to my face within 5 minutes of us talking.

Within the first 30 minutes of date 1, she expressed disinterest in traditional monogamous relationships given the disaster of her family of origin (much like myself, but I never so explicitly say this outloud and haven't rule it out as firmly as she had). But with Chinese girls this can span a range of interpretations.. it can mean "I only do fbuddies", it can mean "Open relationships only" it can mean "open relationship on my end but not yours" or it can even mean "I'm legit asexual until I get drunk which is about 4x/yr and it always results in a hookup with one of the guys in my wechat i keep in orbit". And often the meaning is "I've suffered some trauma and I claim to not want a conventional (serially) monogamous pair bond but actually I'm just damaged, unable to trust people, and hurting and I deeply crave this type of intimacy, trust, and love. Please hold me and tell me everything is going to be alright before you have eye contact unprotected missionary with me while embracing me deeply". And it can also unfortunately mean "I don't really like you but i need a less hurtful way of getting you to not pursue me".

Anyway, despite her being gorgeous, consistently sending interest, going out on 2 dates, and the fact that she lifts, I ended up not really trying after the 2nd date. It was largely because by that point I'd already made the decision to leave Chengdu and she seems fairly attached to her job in that location and to continuing to live with her dad. Made the right choice. A younger me with a BETA SCARCITY MINDSET!!1!1 would have simped out for this woman who may or may not continue reciprocating interest and stayed in a location I actively disliked to pursue her.

She comes to Thailand often now, but she's more of a Pattaya person and I'm a BKK guy. Went for her first time in December and has been back once. Next trip she's probably coming to do breast implant surgery. Obviously I have not revealed that I already found a gf.

Sex tourism among Chinese women in Thailand is way more common than you might think. But its often more softcore and male strippers than actual penetration. I think I already told you guys the story of Khun the Thai bber and the woman from xinjiang in here, I forgot. That one was assuredly penetration!

It's worth highlighting that different kinds of foreigners attract very different kinds of Chinese girls. Synrdr0me, despite the weird fetishes, is incredibly well adjusted and vanilla with a normal loving 2 parent household family. His wife is similarly extremely milquetoast. I am turbo dysfunctional with ultra chaos family of origin and a much more unsual set of abnormal lifestyle, values, interests, and habits. And yet even in a country with such conformity, me and the Chinese freaks and weird dudettes like the one above or the other ladies I've mentioned in previous posts still have a way of finding each other. Assortativity is being just generally non-normal is definitely a thing.

one thing few people realize is that if there's a single asian women traveling alone, she's a sex tourist

she wants to cut loose and bang some strange but can't do it at home because they are traditionally conservative and she likely lives with her parents and/or terrified of being seen by an uncle, neighbor, friend of family etc while out on the town

it's absolutely amazing how when you meet a girl who is native to the city you are in how utterly conservative and cautious they are vs meeting a girl who moved to the city for work and has no family in town and is happy to give you a hj on a somewhat quiet sidestreet at 9 pm at night

sounds like the Australian marriage fidelity rules

if you're in a different state/country, a different timezone or a plane flight away then it's not cheating

Legs
FFESS: 15kg dbsx15x3
ham curls: 60kgx17, 9, 11
Paused toes elevated SLDL: 100kgx20
Lying hamstring curl: 2 sets dicking around mostly just to decompress my spine after the sldl.
leg extensions: 3 sets failure

I'm gonna do one big set of 15-20 on SLDLs henceforth in the interest of saving time and so that I can progress on load a bit more. So next leg workout will be hip thrust+leg press focused, then the one following that I'll dl SLDLs again and try 102.5kgx20. I got a really good glute pump doing this and didn't feel low back or hamstrings too much, which is kinda the goal.

FFESS with a db in each hand is back. It's a good lift to start with because it hits glute quad and hamstrirng all at the same time. The pain I was getting before I think was related to an unstable surface on the front foot. I had no pain this time.

It's just past 10pm and I managed to get home and get to bed at a reasonable hour. Been staying up until midnight which has ****ed up my sleep quality lately. I've been in BKK enough times to where 'bro I'm on vacation I gotta see the sights bro it's fine bro just stay out until 2am and get high AF and eat gnocci and sausage bro c'mon bro we can lock back in when we're on back in china bro" is no longer really valid.

And next summer trip I'll be prepping for what will be the most significant show in my career up until that point so I'll be actually contest prep dieting as well and very much locked in.

I really don't want to gay up my log, but "marriage rules" in general is something I've been thinking a lot about lately.

It just seems like an idealistic and outdated institution that is really hard to work in 2024. It worked great as a technology/institution/social contract for a lot of modern post agricultural human history, but there's been such shifts in the world overall that I think it is in its last days. Are humans monogamous pair bonding species? Yes, but that doesn't imply "pair bonded for life". It just seems like marriage puts too much of a burden on both parties and forces each partner to fulfill so many roles for their partner and it inevitably leads to unrealistic expectations and disappointment. All that said, if people have kids, they better ****ing collaborate to give as much attention, love, time, and financial resources to their offspring regardless of how unmet those expectations are. But after the kids have reached adulthood, why do you still need to stay together again? Some sort of contract to raise kids that has an expiry date or condition seems more practical.

That James Sexton Soft White Underbelly interview was good on this topic, as is a lot of the Orion Taraban youtube channel. But both of these guys are so red-pilled, which means they aren't perceiving the reality of how romantic choice works even remotely correctly.

I'd like to hear what somebody like Macken Murphy thinks about marriage; that guy understands how humans actually choose mates.

I think something like 20% of American adults in my age bracket will have the status of never married and no kids by age 50. Thinking that I may end up in this group makes me feel involuntarily giddy which feels strange that I would react this way given how fixated i've been on romantic relationships overall relative to other people ever since I was barely pubescent. But maybe that's no accident... you probably end up with a whole lot more romance in your life in general by NOT getting married...

idk, it's probably not worth overthinking. Just enjoy life and listen to your gut.

the further I got into marriage (and here's me talking on the way out of it), the more I understood the logic and rationale of the cultures that arrange it/define it more as a life partnership than something romantic. particularly when it relates to kids/running a family along with all the financial and administrative responsibilities that go along with that

it almost always progresses into a far less physical/romantic version of that kind of partnership anyway and that's why I mentioned the importance of value alignment and 'world view' as so important a few posts ago. by world view I don't really mean political but more about priorities on big stuff. eg a YOLO spender and a MUBSY financial nit will have a very difficult/stressful time together where one person and maybe both will find out of sync/unhappy but there's half a dozen of these and maybe more.

monogamy/attitudes to sexy time with partner & others is obviously a part of that too and I don't want to get into a giant rambling D&M about it but I guess the point is that....if you want kids and a life partner and would prioritise that over the freedoms that exist without them, you should go into it accepting that a physical and initial magnetism and chemistry & attraction with the person you're choosing will fade anyway, so perhaps it isn't the most important reason to marry/not to marry

Firstly, thank you for your contribution and clarification on worldview. I fully agree, in that case. Some lady telling me Chinese real estate at the top of the bubble was a more worthwhile investment than crypto at the bottom of the bear market and that I should sell at the bottom of the bear market to facilitate more real estate invesment (bro we'll get legally married, ahve the wedding later, and your name will be in the property its fine bro) was literally a relationship ender for me. But some Muslim Chinese girl talking for 30 minutes in Chinese about how the jews have been kicked out of 109 countries and part of the reason China isn't cucked out to multicultural F4ggotism is b/c they don't tolerate jew/zionist influence mostly just makes me chuckle and roll my eyes. On a side note, the powerlifter ex of mine would often say loudly in english at foreigner bars "Hitler did nothing wrong" just to see if she could get a rise out of white people.

I agree with what you're saying... it almost feels like marriage is a business arrangement and agreement to raise kids. Romance is something entirely seperate and very little of it is really required for this type of marriage. We're kind of at the dawn of an era in human development where sex is now more about recreation and reproduction and thus marriage and child rearing is starting to sort of seperate from sex and romance. Economically we never had that luxury before and I'm curious to see what things would look like in 100-200 years (assuming there is no WWIII or pandemic level event that causes us to regress several hundred years socially). We'll have probably come up with something new and I'm just hoping it isn't AI girlfriends/boyfriends and robot sex. How tf are you going to set up a social contract where the marriage has this purpose of reproduction and economic collaboration without feelings getting hurt when one or both have extra-marital partners? What's that going to do to kids? Is a marriage just a fixed duration contract where it's over once the kids are grown? ARguably thats really hard for women to accept as they age out of the marketplace faster than men (on average). I'm too dumb to theorycraft any solutions to this, but I'm sure some people will be workign on it in the future.

And don't even get me started on DINK couples... tbh the happiest couples I know are all childless with cats/dogs. It seems like once you bring kids into the mix the conflict really starts to heat up, and how wouldn't it given this massive obligation and responsibility you've introduced into the relationship that needs to be divided and allocated?

I'm gonna hold off. good news is my current partner also seems reluctant to engage in this sort of traditional arrangement and actually signing a marriage contract, but for entirely different reasons (divorced, loser ex-boyfriends who can't even pay her covid hospital bills, influence of prospective partner on her son etc)

Do you have any takes on the Destiny situation? I know you're a bit older, but he's a famous political streamer who was in an open relationship and talked very condescendingly about how amazing it was to any detractors. Later the detractors were proven right and she left for another fellow. You can probably find quick summaries on youtube.

I had a great pull workout this afternoon. The chinup bar is very thick and too low to the ground and i was ultra limited by grip/forearms so reps crashed

Chins: bwx15, 12, 10
Underhand rows: 70kgx16, 11 pr and I think possibly an all time PR for paused rows but not tng.
Pulldowns: 1px12, 9, 8
Hammer row machine: 1ppsx21, 11, 9
Ez curls: 20kgx32, 3 more sets myo rep matching wow that was brutal

I forgot the tik-tok high rows existed AGAIN. I should have done those instead of the pulldowns. This gym has 3 pulldowns with 1 out of order and both of them are kinda awkward and wonky. Those tik-tok high rows have been great even when I did them on a **** cable machine.

Motivation level/drive to exercise and train been going way up lately. Every single day when I go to bed i think about winning that show in November 2025 more than a year from now and think about what I need to do the next day to get closer to this goal. I'm on vacation and still going to bed by 11pm, getting up and doing my morning cardio, hitting 14k steps per day, and getting 350g protein in. I'm a bit more liberal with junky fats and not getting enough carbs but cals are about where they need to be. A bodybuilder named Johneffer has the mantra "You don't matter, only the objective matters". It's really cringe. But it's so cringe it ends up being kinda based tbh. I'll probably bump doses a bit and get hardcore on insulin as well. GH I think is overrated and I'll just have 5iu/day mostly to synergize with high dose insulin. I also just know that limiting free weight pressing is going to be a breakthrough because recurrent pain in that area affects both pull and push training. My lower body progress has just exploded since i quit all SQ/ conv DL and i think either eliminating or heavily limiting free weight pressing is going to have a similar effect.

Maybe I'll look back at this post in November 2025 after not even getting in the first callouts or getting a 5th place finish or whatever, but I probably won't have any regrets.

Not going to have a day off until Monday, and on Monday I'm seeing a physio (tk myotherapy on instagram) to see if he can do anything about my right shoulder/bicep tendon. Probably not but we'll try.

Things I'm working on a lot literally daily:
1. Vacuums/gut control. this was pretty poor last "contest prep" phase. It happens with age, but its very reversible. You can work on it any time any place, requires no warmup or equipment!

2. Posing: My presentation, mandatory poses, and transitions are very very good for an amateur and even "good" for the pro level, but this is one thing you can be elite at in a short period of time by just doing it more. You can't spend 2 hours in the gym 7 days a week and grow muscles any faster; you cant' forcefeed and grow muscles any faster, you can't up da dose and grow muscles any faster past a certain point. But you can spend more hours posing, even in the offseason, and make improvements to your posing and the sky is almost the limit. And it serves as good conditioning/cardio on top of this as well as specific practice for what you actually do on competition day. I have a lot of time on vacation so I can do it kinda whenever i want right now, but I think as I enter the school year, 10-15 minutes of morning daily posing either fasted or post meal 1 might become part of my routine every single day. With the way my brain is wired, I need to set specific times and rituals around it. Post training on upper body days for 10-15 minutes would be a nice addition as well but maybe a bit less realistic with time constraints. During pre-contest I plan on doing no less than 30 minutes daily and maybe even finding a gym with a posing room and driving there once a week and grinding it out for 90 minutes (precontest only). Gyms with posing rooms are rare in China so this might not exist in my area or might be too far from where I live.

3. Mindset and alloiwng myself to have confidence. The more I believe I can do it, the higher my subjective effort is even if I end up being 100% wrong and I can't do it. I look at some newly minted IFBB classic pros and I know even not bringing 100% I could beat them. Granted, they're turning pro in America where the level of competition isn't as high, but China nationals is only moderately higher and they are awarding more pro cards every year which means fewer great competitors at subsequent national level shows. I've already run into 2 fitness people in BKK this trip who assumed I was already a pro.

4. Nasal breathing: I still snore a lot as I get over 100kg and my neck is unusually thick for my size. It hasn't been nearly as bad in my new house because the room isn't so damn dry. Looking into orthdontic solutions and wisdom tooth removal to possibly assist with this. Don't like the way a cpap feels.

5. Consistency with injections: guys sometimes you get pip from intramuscular shots and it takes a good ~10 minutes to get everything prepped and set up and sometimes I miss pins in the morning and then convince myself not to pin in the afternoon because the pip will be worse if I take a shot and then have to lay down a few hours later to sleep instead of having circulation in the area being up and about. I'm doing EOD pins now instead of ED but i'd like to get better at this.

I should probably log more of this kind of mindset/goals/affirmation/planning type stuff and less g4y as f5ck philosophizing about romantic relationships and marriage and ****.

I listened to this while i was doing cardio and eating meal 1 today. His life past 2013 or so was pretty bad/dark. But man... his early years as an NPC amateur national level bodybuilder... I was inspried af. He looked amazing at 1999 nationals. But pretty much every other show he did, he was fat on stage. He was literally higher bodyfat on stage at most of his shows than i was at my first show in 2018 when I was totally clueless dieting on takeout kung pao chicken and whey shakes. And he a rough time growing up too... his mom sounds like an angel though and really did the best she could. The 1 year diet of eggs+chef boy-ardee prepping for bodybuilding contests as a young natty with his mom... wow that is ****ing grit. Next time I feel like complaining about the repetition of chicken breast, sweet potato, green beans, and green apple during my contest diet I should consider this and be very ****** grateful I can eat natural home cooked food that meets my micronutrition needs and not ****ing chef boyardee.

Might not start dieiting until November instead of October. I'll see how I'm looking as far as bodyfat goes and take bloods and look at A1c and fasted insulin.

Started today. Going to try 60 days in a row and log it. This is another daily thing I can do b/c my gym is 200m away and has a band setup and at work my workplace gym has a similar band+rack setup and is 300m away. This is another hole I need to plug in my quest to win 2025 November. I don't have shoulder pain, just armpit/bicep tendon pain. I don't think I can completely fix this with just different movement selection. I think its largely a combination of mobility and load management. I've gotten so much stronger after coming out of my diet and it would make sense that a huge increase in overall load would result in a lot of pain in the area from rapid strength gains.

Meeting with physio on monday but I think he's more of a sports massage/tissue release guy and I don't know if he can really help me. There are dozens of physios in BKK and i can safely tell them to screw off if they say 'oh just work on your scapular retraction bro' b/c clearly this is a shoulder internal rotation issue as certain types of curls aggravate it even more than pressing motions.

Another thing: Don't ever quit db pressing entirely, even if its just taking the 20kg dbs for 3 sets of light twenty at the end of a push workout. This is probably important for fixing this literal 13 year shoulder issue.

Push
45 degree incline smith (same as last time): 1px18, 12
30 degree incline smith: 11, 9
Chest press machines bugging my bicep/pec tendon
DB flat press neutral grip: 20kgx20x3
DB skullcrushers: 10kgx20, 15, 12
pushdowns: 3 sets failure
Prone delt raises: 4 sets failure

I still only felt tri+delts on 45 degree incline smith, but as soon as I lowered it to 30 degrees I finally felt my pecs contracting.

BW post workout was 104.6kg with shoes. But I still have abs without flexing just standing at rest. I could easily get up to 110kg this offseason without being "too fat". Maybe even more like 115. But i'm going to 8-12 week cut starting November regardless. I am not even using insulin or growth hormone right now.

It'd be awesome if I permanently fixed this shoulder issue and could free weight press, cable curl. and bayesian curl with impunity and never get pain. I doubt this is realistic but even being able to consistently do push workouts without pain and occasional free weight pressing would be a huge step up from what's going on now.

Assuming they maintain the same schedule as this year, I would be at 67 weeks out today. Mentally in my head just having that number and date in my head makes it more real and seems to increase my motivation.

I'll try to remember to keep posting X number of weeks out each Saturday as i continue logging.
