They "defended" him for months. Let's at least be honest here.

Libtards backing up Biden's health, mental acuity and the failure of MSM or DNC to do anything about it until post debate is the most laughable position of this election cycle.

How about MAGAtards defending Trump's mental fitness?

Has anyone on Fox news noticed that Trump has been making verbal mistakes at basically every rally? Or that he exaggerates what he has done?

And yes he is an actor like Ronald Reagan was, so he is publicly able to pretend that he is fine. Reagan basically made mistakes every time he spoke publicly and his press people would just make corrections after the speeches were completed. In the last years of Reagan's presidency he was suffering from Alzheimer's and was unable to remember things. It might have been the reason behind the Iran-Contra scandal because Reagan was allowing others to take charge. Here is an article on Reagan

Yes he is also ******ed

would probably be easy to find examples then, one would think.

The way I see it, Sanders is popular among the "protesting left" because he can be their own individual symbolic martyr. Since he never got the stage of making deals and compromises to win at the national level as a candidate, he also enjoys the unvarnished shine of ideological purity.

I don't know how large of a contingent it was, but I saw a video of Sanders getting booed for some bland statement that was too pro Israel at a pro Palestine rally or AOC going on a mainstream podcast to endorse Biden. But I think you're right that the corus would have been much louder (though probably just as irrelevant) if Sanders reached higher office.

libs clown on the right for being cultish wrt trump, then turn around and demand cultish devotion to politicians ostensibly on their side. you can't make it, folks!

look its just results oriented thinking to say that you knew Biden was full of dementia parkins senility before the debate. he was fine until that exact moment and anyone who didnt think so is a Russia MAGA moran.

Blue maga doesn't want to make America great again.

I think it's blue anon.

Or blue Mac. Make America Communist!

Its not that I disagree with you. I think the bigger problem for Biden was that he would be the oldest president ever and we were going to be in uncharted territory. Reagan had some Alzheimers problems at the end of his second term (where he was the oldest President ever) and at 67 I have some memory issues (names mostly but sometimes words too). Lol I am 68 years old...

For many people, like with Jimmy Carter, they just weren't going to vote. I think if Biden didn't step down he was going to lose. The debate itself was his one chance to have a shining moment where we could trust that he wasn't having mental difficulties. And I do think you are right that his failure in the debate was ultimately the reason why nobody wanted him to continue.

I will also say this. I don't know if Trump has dementia, senility, or any other age related mental illness. But I don't trust that he would be a mentally viable President. Based on the way he talks I think something might be wrong. I mean he always lied about just about everything. But now it seems that he isn't able to even do that well anymore.

buddy,,,,, i wish they were communist. unfortunately their overlap with republicans is ~95%

Joe Biden is the president right now. I think Trump will be fine cognitively. after all, the genocide machine runs itself regardless of president.

Maybe Blue illiteracy is a better term? It's perfectly fine if people boo Sanders or write critically of AOC and nobody said otherwise. It's just clearly a far out position to think Sanders is too pro Israel.

Looking at transcripts, Trump has been talking in barely intelligible word salads for 8 years, but there is an army of sycophants willing to claim what he said makes sense, that he didn't mean it or that he didn't say it all.

There is also a rather large bunch of non-sycophant pundits that exist in a weird symbiosis with Trumpism, even political pundits that oppose him politically. In their eagerness to discuss what he says, they also have to pretend that there is somehow consistent meaning in the gibberish he spouts.

This weird ecosystem is really how Trumpism manages to exist as something that vaguely resembles ideology.

right. Trump has been senile for 8 years. Biden just all of a sudden became senile as soon as the debate ended and CNN turned on him.

thats all beside the point. the point is that its absurd for anyone to use some argument about anyone being "capable of being president." if Trump did it, and Bident did it, then its pretty ****ing obv that cognitive ability is not a requisite for being president of the USA.

and going further, its pretty clear that it doesnt matter who the president actually is. the genocide machine will run itself.

nah

nah

Sure, like 80% of America thinks Israel has a right to defend itself against Hamas as does Sanders, but nobody ever accused the blue illiterate crowd of being able to figure out basic facts. Seems like you're in a cult tbh.....or maybe just super incurious.

There's not a font big enough to properly convey the LOL

I'd probably guess Ford. Dude got a battlefield commission into the oval without getting a single vote from the public and then had the stones to run as an incumbent and lost lol

Still ran a tightly fought primary against Reagan in 76 and won.

What a ridiculously absurd and loaded survey question! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Even I think any nation, including Israel, has "the right to defend itself", against Hamas or anybody else. Of course, Israel ain't DEFENDING ****. They're attacking. It's an offensive.

If you ask a less unfair question, like "Do you approve or disapprove of the military action Israel has taken in Gaza?", like Gallup did in March, you'll see entirely different results (55% disapproval, 9% no opinion).

https://news.gallup.com/poll/642695/majo...

I don't think it's a perfect question; the language is open to nitpicking, but it's infinitely better than the comically loaded "right to defend itself".

This is the fundamental problem of STEM-lords like you; you value all of your precious data equally, even when the language involved in the survey data in question renders the results of entire data subset worse-than-useless.

Crackhead-style fiends for data. Language considerations and morality considerations need not apply.

by 72off P

no, nobody said it before nyt/cnn did following the debate. it's wild, but literally not one person noticed that genocide joe was old as **** and brain-melted

Is Trump going to get his way with 4 Sep debate on Fox instead of the later one on ABC? My thinking is the Dems will cave and say yes

by ecriture d'adulte P

Who said the cabinet doesn’t matter? A meeting with all cabinet members where the secretary of defense is forced to listen to the secretary of agriculture or whoever is just a waste of time.

Pretty much this. I have no problem believing that meetings of the entire cabinet are a waste of time. I sometimes think that people get most of their understanding of government from shows like Game of Thrones.

I agree that the form of the question matters immensely when a survey attempts to capture public opinion, as does the manner in which survey participants are chosen, but it isn't at all clear to me that eda was claiming to be quoting the exact language of a survey question.

This is a pretty weird argument. Would you cite examples of drunk taxi drivers as evidence that on-the-job sobriety isn't really a requirement for the job?
