From what I have seen and read (from googling what you just said) the issue is not about whether Walz served in Iraq or not. The issue was whether or not he put in for retirement before or after he knew that his Unit would be deployed in Iraq.
From what I have read in several articles Walz put in for running for office in Feb 2005. In March 2005 his unit was put on notice that they would be deploying to Iraq. In May of 2005 Walz was officially retired (he did this because he was running for Congress in Minnesota). In July of 2005 his Unit was deployed to Iraq.
At no time did Walz ever claim he was in Iraq. So the person who is lying here isn't Walz...

the rank thing is also predictably bullshit. he got promoted to that rank and served as that rank, you have to serve a certain amount of time to retire as that rank he did not. it is apparently common to retire as a rank lower than your max rank due to this system.

Every time a new high profile figure appears on the radar for the democrats, PB instantly has a letter from high ranking military officials to disparage them.
