There were talks to abolish the DoE, although that didn't happen even with a trifecta, but Trump at least weakened it a bit and had it led by a person who wanted it to be abolished which was nice for a change.
But that as i wrote is just because education is not a federal matter *AT ALL* and should go back to states and localities in full where it belongs.

I have not heard trump suggest eliminating public education. I would be in favor of a school voucher program which may long-term end up killing public education but that would only occur if the parents of kids voted to do so by preferring to move their kids to private education.

The United States spends more money per pupil on Education than any other Country in the World, and yet we are at the bottom of every educational list in terms of results. We are going to close the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. and send it back to the States, where it belongs, and let the States run our educational system as it should be run. Our Great Teachers, who are so important to the future wellbeing of our Country, will be cherished and protected by the Republican Party so that they can do the job of educating our students that they so dearly want to do. It is our goal to bring Education in the United States to the highest level, one that it has never attained before!

Ok but it's redicolously false. Nuclear war risk in general , among big players in the world, is a lot lower than decades ago. Biden wasn't the smartest geopolitical chess player in history ok, but he didn't make any huge blunder either.

Yes and it's good. The federal government should go out of education completly. But it's utterly false to claim that that would mean no public education exists. It's just not something the federal government can or should do.
I just listened to Harris’s economic plan today and it wasn’t bad. I don’t like the stuff about price gouging or giving money to first time home buyers, but she talked about cutting taxes to the middle class and working with local governments to cut red tape for development.
There’s actually stuff there that even Republicans should like, and the stuff that they wouldn’t like doesn’t seem like it would pass in congress anyway.

watched and read some minutes in the middle, lot of platitudes but a very centrist speech overall for the parts i saw. Not much substance but at least she said she will detail in future weeks. Fair enough.
Very good for common sense and a "shared reality" that she admits inflation is kicking the middle class in the ass (not inflation that much anymore, but a permanently too elevated price level if you will), that red tape is a disease for small businesses and so on. Centrist, reasonable common sense takes.
Problem for me here is that i am ok with some politicians being empty vessels that would say whatever to win. That's a way to play the game and i understand it. But i'd like to know what, deep inside, are her preferences, if she could decide by herself, as she maybe might be able to if she becomes president.
Many of you will like to be convinced she is actually on the left, i need the opposite, and i am still full of doubts.

Elon definitely misjudged a great many things in the name of looking like a super cool guy to his super weird fans
