ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

prosecutors didn't seek pre trial detention in that case so no

Prosecutors don't need to seek pre-trial detention for bail or bail conditions to be imposed. For example, the prosecution and defense can agree to a bail amount and bring it to the judge. Or defense could propose an amount without objection. Or the judge can just decide to set bail without being asked.

In any case, a quick search confirms that at the very least, he's out on 200k bail on the Georgia case:

Georgia case has proceedings indefinitely suspended, do bail conditions become permanent in those cases?

That, I wouldn't be sure about. I think that's a pretty rare situation, so it's probably different on a case by case basis.

I didn't know the proceedings in Georgia had been suspended, what happened there?

My wife and I just back from a walk around the neighborhood. We walked by a house with a pickup in the driveway. It had a large American flag, upside down in one corner of the bed and a big trump flag in the other corner. The truck had a cutout of trumps face in the back window. In the yard was a yard sign with a cutout of trumps face. They had a full size cutout of trump in the picture window of their house.

Notacult......

I'm sure Luciom will tell us that they would be doing the same regardless of who the Republican candidate is, right bro?

in Florida?

in Florida?

Fair point. But I imagine that even in Florida, Republican candidates have not garnered such a personality cult following in the past as Trump.

Who is that and what's the point you're making?

A statue is hardly the same thing as what biggerboat described.

That isn't Ronald Reagan. That is a statue depicting a scene from the original The Godfather movie where Clemenza is carrying a horse head on his shoulder to go put in Mr Woltz bed.

I don’t think Clemenza went on that trip. I think it was just Tom Hagen.

Clemenza has his own family to run. They would’ve hired or used associates of the don

I was in Florida for a week in April. You don't see Trump stuff on every corner as they say but there definitely is more MAKE AMERICA GREAT TRUMP 2024 signs and bumper stickers around and other stuff for him compared to where I live (Las Vegas). Some other pro-Trump stuff I saw:

- Trump playing cards at a 7-11
- A car dealership that had "Trump won in 2020" on their marquee sign at the entrance (lol at ever buying anything there)
- At Daytona Beach, we went into a couple of gift shops and there were a lot of Trump t-shirts with his picture and stupid stuff on them like "Original Gangster", "Greatest Patriot", etc.

otoh I didn't see one pro-Desantis anything when I was there.

Brasi obviously put the horse head in the bed, not Clemenza.

Agree. He was my favorite character in the book and almost completely neglected in the movies.

They couldn't afford to let Tom get his hands dirty.

Would be an amateur move if so. Brasi was the dons best guy. No need to risk anything with a job as easy as cutting off an animals head and laying it in a bed.

It's been years since I read the book but google's saying Aldo looking out while Rocco killed it then Luca Brasi put it in the bed.

Any time Luciom and I agree on something, book it!
