SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)
I'll provide more details and examples in the thread in the morning, but this should be enough info for you to /in and join so we can play.

I think it could work
Haven't figured it out yet, best I could think of was c6 to get in the general area but it's not enough by itself
I think c8 is the clue
the question is are there any obvious confirmers we can give them to help out without confusing things
C15 should work if they know what it is, but it will at least get them in the ballpark even if they don't.

I don't know what c8 is, but c15 is a good clue imo.
But if c8 is a banger, then ok.

Well if it's a banger, then why do you need any?
Well because you could go with a few words from the clue so nice to have confirmer for what they want to say

I think if I got your clue I would get to it because I could figure it’s not the other thing I’d be thinking of

This kinda reads like we should be choosing between wrist and another word. We’re in the ballpark with wrist, so we didn’t whiff, but now we have to decide which one is better. So it’s between wrist and something else. Joint?
What could c8 be? Thinking c6 might’ve been carpal, but can’t think of a c8 banger.
I've never heard of the word before. If it's a wrist bone/joint then let's guess wrist.

Yeah, maybe the point of D1iab’s statement is that we’d be choosing between wrist and hand.
The extent of my knowledge re: carpals is that they’re bones in the wrist or hand and that carpal tunnel syndrome is a chronic wrist issue. So either wrist or hand seem like our shot.
If hand, then why not a c5 (cuffs) confirmer? I still don’t know what Nich’s banger c8 is, but it’s probably either a c7 or c9 anyway.

I would’ve thought emperor for Commodus but then why not Caesar, so probably would’ve pivoted to gladiator.

Commodus is most famous for that gif, so that was my hope
For carpometacarpal, I wouldn't have known it either, but then I thought "carpal" is wrist, so that's out, but it should be in the area and so maybe then I move to thumb; no cuffs or other confirmer for hand and no cuticle for finger, so it's a long shot but maybe
really we were pretty much at 2% chance once thumb was randed
Reverted back but still a great score; 3rd time we've hit 19 in 6 games (not 7 like my pms said; that'll be confusing next game)
