ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Fred Trump, the father of the orange colored nyc conman, was born in NYC (the Bronx).

indeed, but point still stands, his dad arrived in the city just a few months before he was born and it's also very possible for reasons of immigration that they just said he was born there and bribed someone on entry

his grandfather split his time between germany and seattle/alaska

at the very least, his dad was conceived in germany

anyway, still new money

Managed 7 words about Harris before the brain rot set in.

She destroyed the city of San Francisco, it’s — and I own a big building there — it’s no — I shouldn’t talk about this but that’s OK I don’t give a damn because this is what I’m doing. I should say it’s the finest city in the world — sell and get the hell out of there, right? But I can’t do that. I don’t care, you know? I lost billions of dollars, billions of dollars. You know, somebody said, ‘What do you think you lost?’ I said, ‘Probably two, three billion. That’s OK, I don’t care.’ They say, ‘You think you’d do it again?’ And that’s the least of it. Nobody. They always say, I don’t know if you know. Lincoln was horribly treated. Uh, Jefferson was pretty horribly. Andrew Jackson they say was the worst of all, that he was treated worse than any other president. I said, ‘Do that study again, because I think there’s nobody close to Trump.’ I even got shot! And who the hell knows where that came from, right?

I don't understand why we are considering it immoral to separate low IQ people from their money in activities they participate in voluntarily, in a gambling forum

Interesting. Did you consider Bernie Madoff's conduct to be immoral?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Luciom was a Russia A.i. trump troll

With the effort he puts in, he must be on someone's payroll.

Another school shooting today. I wonder if trump will tell us we just have to get over it like he did the one in Iowa.

Trump on affordable Child care:

"Well, I would do that and we're sitting down, you know, I was, somebody, we had Senator Marco Rubio and my daughter, Ivanka was sooo..uh..impactful on that issue. It's very important issue… But I think when you talk about the kind of numbers that I'm talking about, that, because, the child care is, child care is ..couldn't, you know, there's something you'd have to have it in this country, you have to have it. uh but when you talk about those numbers compared to the kind of numbers that I'm talking about by taxing foreign nations at levels that..they're not used to but they'll get used to it very quickly. And it's not gonna stop them from doing business with us, but they'll have a very substantial tax when they send product into our Country. Those numbers are so much bigger than any numbers we're talking about including child care...that it's gonna take care. We're gonna have. I look forward to having no deficits within a fairly short period of time. Coupled with the reductions that I told you about on waste and fraud and all the other things that are going on in our Country. Because I have to stay with child care..I wanna stay with child care but those numbers are small relative to the kind of economic numbers that I'm talking about INCLUDING growth..but growth also headed up by what the plan is that I just..uhh..that I just told you about, we're gonna-bee takin in trillions of dollars. And as much as child care..uhh..is talked about as being expensive, it's relatively speaking not very expensive compared to the kinda of numbers we'll be taking in. We're gonna make this into.....an incredible Country that can afford to take care of it's people..and then we'll worry about the rest of the World..let's help other people. But we're gonna take care of our Country first, this is about America first, is about Make..America..Great..Again..We have to do it because right now we're a failing Nation..so we'll take care of it. Thankyou."

The best policies

seems like he's saying something like he'll slap tariffs on (probably chinese) imports and put that money into child care. of course china would respond with their own tariffs or whatever on american goods/services, and all of that would just raise prices and cause more inflation. also he doesn't actually give a **** about child care, and as such won't be doing any of that, which is probably why he's rambling so much there instead of just saying it plainly

I doubt that's the reason.

well, it's one of the reasons. he's capable of being direct and on-topic when it's something he actually wants to talk about, and tends to do the rambly filibuster thing more when it's not

Guess there's not much he wants to talk about.

I thinks it’s more about he didnt know wtf he was talking about and tried to redirected it to his talking point about China China China and trying to make some kind of connection with child care which he never was able to succeed in accomplishing .

yeah it's some real "build the wall and make mexico pay for it" bullshit, but more disconnected. physically, and from reality

I would not have guessed that he is such a numbers guy.

Or, He only has a superficial understanding of policy and law-making, regardless of the subject matter.

Ive got to be honest here. I was an undecided voter. After witnessing this masterful weave Trump definitely has my vote.

Convicted felon can't hold a liquor license but can be Commander in Chief. How screwed up is that?

Trump may be a bit woolly, but that's why he's got ideas man, JD Vance!

[/URL]His other big idea: get rid of the certification requirements put on day care providers, which are there to ensure children are safe.

You probably want it to be easier to take away someone's right to sell liquor, than it is to take away their right to run for office. If not, you risk that the law can be exploited to ban political opposition.

Other than that, Trump is a criminal, he lacks integrity, he is incompetent and he seems to hate most of your country. This should be more than enough reasons to not want him in office, but that should be decided at the voting booths.

Being a felon is on the list of things to hold against Trump as a presidential candidate, but it's oddly down on the list a bit for most. And reasonably so.
