2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

I also like BTJ over Hopkins this week, especially with Hopkins's knee injury still lingering.
I benefited from the Likely breakout game because I play on Yahoo where the free agent period is open up until players start playing their games.
I am in 7 season leagues. I have left my K and DST spots empty and will fill them by Sunday. Prior to that I have been picking up players on the Thu and Fri games incase of big breakouts. For Thu, I had picked up Likely in 4/7 leagues and also added Carson Steele in some. For tonights game, I've added Romeo Doubs and Marshawn Lloyd.
I have been able to take advantage of this in my regular home league where I am just more active in adding and then dropping players after they have bad games, just to pick up a different player mid week. I know that it can be annoying for some, but no one in this home league has complained so far.
I also noticed I was fortunate enough to own Likely at 29% in my Underdog best ball drafts. I barely have him in Yahoo best ball, because that is 17 rounds instead of 18.
Tee Higgins is doubtful to play all of a sudden . Crazy

Very true but that’s a tough loop hole lmao say he makes one start he’s terrible and they go to a healthy Russ who’s not in danger of losing his job via performance . But I do like the loophole well played lol

are we downgrading Baltimore ROS? That OL is going to have to improve quite a bit. Stanley looks like his best days are long past. 6 games vs AFCN.
Should be good for Lamar’s rushing, at least until he dies.

I may only have 4% Saquon, but at least that’s the same % as my Jacobs ownership.

The Eagles should pay Kelce big money to come out of retirement just do handle the tush push.

Faded Jayden Reed as well. He had two TDs, but his volume wasn't particularly higher than the other WRs. That was the same story as last year though and he did end up scoring more TDs than the rest of the GB WRs.
I think I have Love and Kyler as my highest drafted QBs in best ball. Hope the Love injury isn't serious.
Lots of news to take away from the first two games. Both good and bad. But we still don't know what is real and what isn't yet. I'm trying to approach this fantasy season with more life balance and not getting completely lost in it. I am going to skip the mid season best ball drafts that I heavily participated in last year. The pre-season ones were enough for me with approx 120-130 teams drafted.
Ffpc question
So in ffpc you can swap the players from the Thursday/Friday game out after the game due to there being drafts after games
I have Zay Flowers who scored 11.1 ppr pts, do I pull him for one of Ladd, Shaheed, or Dowdle? I’m projected to win by 6 right now. He’s had 3 players play vs my 2 (or 1 depending on this decision)

Agreed, it’s a long season and the week 1 panic/excitement is overblown. Football in particular is such a high variance sport.
There’s a chance Love may be done for the year though which is possibly a killer for any packers players bc Malik Willis is terrible (assuming they’ll go out and get a real backup though)
