2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.
But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.
Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.
What do we like and not like?
Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

It's only Week 1 and we shouldn't overreact, but any Browns exposure is officially terrible.

I've got 66% of exposure in Puka. 😃
Kupp is going to be the bargain of the year if Puka is gone.
I hope so. I have a lot of Kupp. Still can’t believe he was an early 4th pick to start draft season.

Harrison one catch is one catch but he was on the field for almost all AZ snaps so things gotta get better
Kincaid no clue here, thought I could avoid the TE carousel but he appears to be a guy the Bills made no game plan for

A few more:
Pollard and Spears were 61/45, but Pollard had way more touches. The coaches pitched it as a 50/50 split all summer.
Watson looked as bad as expected.
Cousins looked even worse than I expected, and I was already worried.
Rodgers?
Ladd, BTJ, Worthy, and Keon looked as advertised. I'm super bullish on all 4 moving forward. Funny that the 3 top 10 WRs struggled more, although Nabers was pretty solid. He let us know that he's already tired of Janiel Dones.
Jayden and AR showed the high floor and high ceiling outcomes.
The NFL has an offense problem. Tua and Stafford are currently the only QBs over 300 yards. There have only been 33 passing TDs so far. Going back to 2019, the total passing TDs in w1 have been 61, 52, 61, 51, and 37. Things should iron out as teams gain more experience, hopefully.
I’m definitely worried about a few things (mostly Atlanta offense and Browns if Watson keeps starting), but I don’t over adjust my priors to week1
- After w1 last year Achane was dropped in a lot of leagues
- Through 5 weeks Adam Thielen was outperforming CD Lamb
- Nobody knew who Nico Collins was
- Tony Pollard was ETRs 3rd ranked overall player
- Rashee Rice was dropped in a number of leagues by w5 or so
I’m sure there are a million other things I’m forgetting, but my point is that it’s a really long season and crazy stuff happens
Second year in a row the rams caught everyone in fantasy off guard. Last year with kyren coming out of nowhere and this year so much chatter about corum and then he doesn’t even play a snap
Week 1 waivers is normally crazy with so no name guys breaking out. But this year seems kinda slow other than likely and I’m not sure what to make of him ROS

first timer week one trip report:
I feel.... gross. that was like going on a bender. staring at screens for 10 hours, sometimes watching 4 games at a time. adrenaline pumping. cheering for guys I never heard of.
I drafted Jonathon Taylor(if that's even his name) some RB I never heard of, but he was great a few years ago? I learned yesterday that he played on the colts, and played with my other pick who I think was my first WR I took in round 3... I forget his name. but he sucked yesterday. both of them played pretty ****ing shitty. but it was incredibly exciting to watch!
they kept giving the ball to the RB early yay!! but he just sucked.. ****.. but he made a touchdown! yay!
oh but before the day even started my opponent had jayden Daniels. 32 points. fml. I have a 22% chance to win. no wait sorry.. Jayden reed? the GB receiver who scored a touchdown every play. Jayden reen I think. I think Jayden Daniels is the rookie QB I really wanted to draft, but I got sniped and he crushed. sigh
so yeah I went into the day having almost no chance, but then....
chase and Higgins both suck. Joe burrow sucks! my opponent has Joe burrow! and my opponent has that awful raiders RB zamir white? he sucks! yay!
and my guys... last minute decision I bench the old WR guy with a hurt knee... I want to say Bernard Hopkins? but that's the old boxer... I forget his name. so I start the rookie for the jags, Bryan thomas Jr? he is great!!! woo hoo!!! he gets open in the end zone, it's a touchdown for sure, but the defender does pass interference to stop the touchdown! fml!!! **** **** ****!!! but he still does great anyway yay!
and my other guy... Godwin? idk.. he generally makes tons of catches and yards, but doesn't get touchdowns. I draft him cuz it's PPR.. he does great! yay!
and my other guy first round pick! I forget his name, RB for Detroit... and I'm wondering if he even exists cuz he isn't on the ****ing field!!! like for the first 2 drives of the game?!?!?! wtf is going on?!?!?! I'm panicking.
but then I realized the coach puts them in one at a time. I guess to keep them fresh? idk, this detroit coach seems like he's out of his mind. he's always going for it on 4th down no matter what. and his sideline interview was nuts.
but my guy is finally in(whatever his name is) and he is great!! omg he is good! I can see why I drafted him in the first round. he is so fast and strong! and he is doing just ok cuz he has to share playing with Montgomery... I remember the other guys name. my guy is the other guy, not montgomery.
and omg he makes an amazing touchdown! what a play!!! but the refs don't see it! I ****ing saw it in real time. that was a touchdown! he was in! but luckily these days they have replay review, and saw that it was a touchdown. phew
oh and I would be sitting pretty tonight if ****ing ladd ****ing mconkey mother****er hadn't caught a ****ing touchdown in the final ****ing minutes! fml!! and the ****ing **** eating ****ing raiders could make a ****ing tackle!! jfc!!! two guys just let him waltz right into the end zone... ****!!!
oh and somehow the New England **** patriots could not be stopped! cuz I I had cinci defense... and cinci defense gave me 2 fantasy points!! vs the Patriots!!!!!!!!!
I feel sick to my stomach, pretty much ever since the draft last week, but especially since yesterday.
