Flop Check

Flop Check

MP opens 5bb (125bb)
Hero 3b 15bb on BTN QsQc (covers)
MP calls

Flop (32bb)
10s8c7d
Checks through

I think this board is so much better for my opponent than me I was unsure if we should check or bet small

Turn 2c (32bb)
MP bets 10bb
Hero calls

I dont think raising is best option here and folding is not good so best to call

River 6h (52bb)
Checks through

on river I think its hard to go for value with the 4 liner out there so checked behind

I am never checking that flop through. I also fail to see how you think a T-high, rainbow board favors an open limp when you have an overpair. However, if that's what you think, then just check-fold.

flop check is fine although id slightly prefer a bet (checking with AA/KK would be better). when he bets 1/3 only on the turn i would raise 3-4x that bet. if he bet the turn bigger then id call. the reason is that the pop tendency imo is to be suspicious when small bets get raised esp when you dont look like you have anything, so raising turn has a lot of value.

reason for checking AA/KK on the flop is that you almost never connect with that board so its best to underrep your hand early against anyone who isnt brainless/passive.

Start with a bet OTF, then see where everything goes after that.

MP didn’t open limp. Hard to check fold from the button.

I think the hand is well played.

Looks fine. The 4 liner isn't A345 - he probably has as many 9x as Tx here not to mention sets and two pair (I mean not necessarily things like 86 based on preflop but still).

On the other hand, in favour of a bet is the river check which is very weak (wouldn't he bet most of his big value hands anticipating that you'd check back with hands like the one you have?) You'd expect MP to bet river a lot here. That said, you have enough SDV that you don't need to turn the hand into a bluff so the question is whether looking for value from a Ten is too thin - if you think he checks a lot of his big hands here then it's a check back but if you think he's mostly betting 2p+ then you may be able to go for some thin value. But overall the board is stacked against your range so you can't go far wrong by respecting that.

Agree with the comment above that flop check is fine but would be even more inclined to check AA/KK

Thanks for the advice. IF im betting this flop what sizing do we tend to go I was assuming small maybe 1/3?

how would be tend to continue if we bet and get raised? I understand this maybe player dependant
