One of the most disappointing things about him that gets the smallest amount of attention- the absolute lack of effort he puts in to being able to give detailed, knowledgeable responses to any important policy related questions.

My main takeaway is Trump was doing as expected. Wild card. Kamala was doing a lot better than expected. Unless things changed after I stopped watching, big win for Kamala. Should give her the confidence to get out in front of the press more.

Usually I disagree with your takes but this is spot on. I hate to do a +1 post, but +1.
I will say that she had a somewhat slow start if I’m critical of anything, and then dominated in the early middle to late in the debate. Trump for his part kept his composure after a few slip ups early, but the early slip ups will haunt him, like the answer after she said that people should go to his rallies to see how unhinged he is. That was a huge gamble that payed off.

I don't think the debate will move the needle much, but I'm sure that Trump's camp was disappointed with how easily he allowed himself to be baited. I thought the first 15-20 minutes against Biden were the best that I have ever seen Trump do in a debate. But I thought he was quite bad tonight.

The full context for those curious. Tell me where it was taken out of context please. He’s equating a confederate general to George Washington and basically saying that the people there carrying tiki torches and doing antisemitic chants had some very fine people. Laughable!

By regular human standards or any presidential candidate from 1960-2015 Trump was historically bad. By his standards maybe a little below average.

Yeah...he honestly has not even put in the work to be able to lie about his non existent healthcare plan. He got by in 2016 with just saying repeal and replace but that is not popular now so hw has nothing.
