No not trolling you but that seems to be her generic answer to every question . She lacks any substance and it’s showing

actually i was curious and looked it up just now, her mom never re-married so she didn't have a step father in her life but most of it was spent spending weeknights with her mom and weekends with her dad as they generally were in palo alto/berkeley for most of her childhood

her maternal grandfather was a very big deal back in india (one of the most important people in government back in the 60s) so it's safe to assume an aristocratic background
her maternal great grandfather was a white man who was descendend from one of the founding colonists and major slave owners of jamaica, can't find much on her grandfather

so both came from wealthy families themselves

They are both crazy for sure. But why not press harder on Kamala for her changes. Like on fracking since it’s important to PA? Wouldn’t that make her supporters second guess. Seems like a lot of flip flopping right before the election.

I would have liked for Kamala to be corrected on the lie about rape during oct. 7 attacks. There is not a shred of evidence of that happening yet these people are allowed to keep repeating this lie over and over again.

No you are. But if I was it would be a strong argument as to the far right, ultra nationalist, racist aggressors in Kiev being the real genocide victims. So yeah, super sound argument there we just need to work on using premises that are true.

You wouldn't know a true premise if it bit you in the ass.

Because one candidate is far more dangerous than the other. Not saying this is right, but I get it.

lol ok that makes sense, his posts are for entertainment purposes only then.

Most definitely. Please make my undertitle "for entertainment purposes only". My posts might be well informed and insightful, synthesizing the views of some of the world's foremost thinkers, but they are absolutely for entertainment purposes only.

Politics is entertainment now. I can't imagine a better illustration of that then people arguing over voting between two candidates who are nothing but stacks of abject personal failings who have no significant policy differences. There is one class which is represented in government. Everyone knows this and lives this and knows further that we have no power to change anything fundamental. Are we debating about whether or not to keep participating in genocide? Nope. We're talking about made up narratives spun from whole cloth.

The only issue at hand in national elections is you registering how you feel about the policies over which you have no control. So if you don't care about environmental destruction because you don't like winters anyway and so what if the human race collapses then you are a Republican. If you get all weepy and feel bad about environment putrefying before our eyes then you are Democrat. Either way that oil is coming out of the ground and will do so at rates determined by those who own concentrated capital, not you.

Deuces here channeling the views of the world's foremost thinkers, for example that guy modelling the twin towers collapse using a stack of cardboard boxes held together with sticky tape.

Anyway Deuces, why don't you go back and play in your little containment thread before the adults notice you've escaped and you get yourself in trouble.

d2 with all the crazy things I've said why are you associating me with someone I never talked about or cited? Why lie when I'm giving you so much material?

I'd like to make a deal with you. You can follow me around and make personal attacks if that's what you want to do and I won't complain to the mods as long as you just slander me with things I've actually said. If I'm really such a lunatic that shouldn't be hard for you to do.

Lol @following you around. I regularly post in this thread, you do not. Who is following whom?

You keep banging on about the 9/11 truth movement saying that they are respected physicists, engineers etc. That guy is part of it. Fair game.

like it's funny about truman because if you google search presidents who grew up poor, truman is always at the top of the list because some idiot working for buzzfeed is like "wow missouri farmer who didn't go to college"

college was very much a vanity thing then

like look at this **** here, another article about the "hardships truman faced as a child"

they literally say "he didn't go to college because they were too poor" and then magically jumps to "and thus Harry was forced to operate and mining and oil business - just wtf the amount of capital required to start those businesses is insane - all the while he's still able to maintain the family farming operations - why is that? because they had tons of employees working on their massive estate

that family farm was 600 acres, more than 4x the size of a typical farm and they also had many other business interests as well - in fact if you read 10 different harry truman snippets you'll get 10 different versions of what his father did and what harry did before politics because they had their hands in a lot of pies

how did harry get involved in politics? well his wealthy livestock trading father knew all the democrats and introduced harry to them

this was the estate he lived in while claiming massive poverty

here is that poor little ragamuffin at age 13

now truman was unable to build upon this wealth and even squandered it, so he ended up becoming one of the poorest standing presidents we've ever had, but he absolutely grew up in a very well to do family of midwestern power brokers

but we're so in love with the idea of the rags to riches president that we like to pretend that he grew up in poverty and just say "missouri farm boy who didn't even go to college"

For rather obvious reasons, a black person descending from a slave-owner in Jamaica or the US is rarely a sign of affluence, wealth or upper class in that particular ancestry. Usually, it would signify the exact opposite.

This shows the merit of mulling things over, rather than just looking to prove your point.

I would love to see a graph of 2+2 Politics regs with intellect on the x axis and self-perception of intellect on the y axis.

I just recently realized that "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" referred to distance traveled, so both axes took a toll.

Ha. I never read the book, but you are correct that 20,000 leagues below sea level doesn't work very well.

Just wait till you start learning about light years.

I can definitely think of a couple of "Potrippers" on that plot.

I would love to see a plot of liberal smugness vs. reality.

I'm getting a sense of a pattern where some news items are forged in the propaganda works, the liberals (not Leftists but the Clintonian pro privatization pro genocide types we have here) say everyone who doesn't believe it is a delusional idiot, then those ideas are found to be totally false and fall under the lack of real support. Then maybe we could add the dimension of propensity to talk about self perception, usually showing up as mentions of Dunning Krueger.

I would be surprised if it wasn't the case that whoever mentioned Dunning Krueger the most is the most factually incorrect poster.

Hypercorrection is also usually a pretty reliable sign of inflated self perception. It's "Kruger".

I misspelled it on purpose. I always lookup names to be sure I'm spelling them right. This time I looked it up and left it misspelled. lol

Hypercorrection comes from underlying insecurity, which is probably also a source of inflated self perception. It's like in the movie Predator when Arnold says, to motivate the team, "if it bleeds we can kill it". You get so few victories over me that you jump at the chance for any small win.

Lol. You're a shrink's wet dream. Well, you would be if you had any money.

"creolization" is what's happened to the majority of the old white families that stayed

and i did factor in that he went to oxford for undergrad - which strongly implies wealth because like the us they charge a whole lot more and without all the aid for foreigners

I'm in the clear. Until this post, I've never used the term Dunning Kruger on this website or in private conversation.

I've already been adjudicated to be less intelligent than you, so what would that accomplish?

I know. I need to up my jargon game.
