Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
this video is from the West Bank. I remember when it came out.
It's being obviously recorded.
Even the worst view of the idf wouldn't have them killing a kid sitting in a chair whilst on camera
What "protected status?" Murdering civilians en masse has been fair game for Israel for a year now.
so long as you declare it a closed military zone and say that everyone there is an intentional human shield then its fine. this was the main way that Hamas screwed up the Nova Festival. they forgot to check that box.
Nice one. Another slogan to add to the repetoire. We got
“Existence is resistance”
“The oppressed have a right to resist their oppressors”
“It’s not a war it’s a genocide”
“The genocide didn’t start on October 7th”
“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”
“Zionist colonizer babies”
“Rapes didn’t happen”
Anything I’m missing?
Well no, Palestinians are the oppressor so they’re not allowed to resist. Since zionists are the oppressed class they can resist by any means necessary. Long live the anti-colonial IDF!
If you mean honest in that their stated aim is to wipe Israel off the map, and they make no apologies for this, or that they diligently recorded the murder and torture that took place on 7/10, and uploaded it to the internet as proof of their atrocities, then I guess you're right.
You really think if the camera was off they would shoot the kid?
I don't think that.
Nonetheless the fact they didn't while obviously being recorded still tells us ~nothing
That account is a known alt right source that's been proven to have propagated fake news in the past so it's hardly a valid source
the alt right is super-against Ukraine and very pro Putin, and not in love with Israel at all, that account is ultra pro-Ukraine and pro Israel so the definition isn't reasonable at all
They're Polish, their views are not going to line up with the foreign policy of the alt right in other nations. They were notably far right before Russia invaded.
Yeah. Polish don't like Russians due to a spot of bother in the past. So even far right Polish will be pro Ukraine. There's also the part about their proven propagation of fake news in the past so again aren't a reliable source.
Also Giorgia Meloni is pro Ukraine and is still far right despite your apparent disagreement on this so such things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive anyway.
ye "far" in some sense yes, but not alt. Like you know, normal, very coherent, actual right.
Yeah you are correct, far right.
Woke up to atrocious images of Gazan dads holding their young daughters whose heads were half missing. Would any on #teamIDF like to see them?
Lol at Meloni being "far right", she didn't even touch abortion at all. If being like the median european in 1995 with regards to immigration is "far right" that's just insane of a definition.
But anyway even if "far right", that's not ALT right. Alt -right is ultra antisemitic, pro Putin, completly anti-neocon, and in europe they hate the USA
I used to work with some Poles and made a few trips to Poland. I'd say that's putting it mildly, lol.
She's been part of the Italian neo fascist movement since she's 15 so yeah she's absolutely fa right and we've had this convo before, I get you disagree and that's ok. She's still far right. I don't see any difference between far and alt right and feel you're talking semantics, but you do have my apologies if I offended your far right sensibilities.
I worked with many of them myself over the years and all of them without exception absolutely despised Russia,I was indeed being mild with my comment. 😀
Need to do far right policies to be far right. I agree a lot of the polish right is far right (not alt right) which for example is why they banned abortion. And they passed laws allowing soldiers to shoot to kill at trespassers on the border, that's far right i agree.
What did Meloni actually do in 2 years to be considered far right? she governs with a reasonably big majority so she can basically pass any law that is constitutional & abides to EU treaties. We have no constitutional right to abortion and there is no constitutional right to abortion in EU treaties (which is why it is illegal to have an abortion in Malta).
Meloni didn't touch abortion laws.
It's not about sensibilities but using words with some meaning. If Meloni is far right, how do you call someone who is exceptionally to the right of her, like the polish themselves we were discussing? Meloni just gave a fiscal bonus to mothers who have jobs, that is the polar opposite of being far right. The far right doesn't want women to be working when they have kids, and they build the fiscal system toward that (see Hungary and Poland again).
Abortion is legal in Italy since the 70s and for a far rightist Meloni strikes me as surprisingly shrewd, so it's no surprise she won't unnecessarily rock the boat by touching laws in place for nearly 50 years. I've already given my very valid reason how she's fr right and again totally get you disagree. Now granted maybe she's not far right enough for you- but she's still far right. Maybe if she wasn't involved with neo Fascism for over 30 years I might not consider her as far right. But she is so I do.
How do you think this is a response to the bolded
