Welcome to the official WPT Global thread!
WPT Global is the real-money online poker business of the World Poker Tour, and we’re about to celebrate our two-year anniversary, having launched in April 2022. After such a short time, we’re already the third-largest online poker room in the world (ranked by PokerScout.com, based on cash game traffic).
We’re joining TwoPlusTwo to share information with you, engage with the community, and answer any questions you might have.
WPT Global is special for a few reasons:
- Our modern platform has been built from the beginning to leverage AI technology. We use this in two main ways. The first is to protect the games by detecting collusion, bot use, RTA use and other forms of cheating extremely quickly. We have the best Game Integrity tech I’ve experienced in my 19 years in the industry, and a team of around 50 people using it.
- The second way we utilise AI technology is in managing our ecology. We ensure that games are sustainable and beatable by reserving seats in every game for casual players and limiting the number of seats per table that can be occupied by highly skilled professionals. I’ll go into more detail on this point later, in the below FAQ, but the net result is - we have the softest cash games you’ll find online, and typical win-rates for regs are 5-10x higher than elsewhere. (If you don't’ believe me, just try them and see for yourself).
- We have had a large liquidity pool from the very beginning, especially in cash games. This is because we partnered with a couple of successful Asia-facing poker rooms to bootstrap their liquidity. Most poker startups face an enormous challenge in growing their liquidity from scratch - this solution allowed us to launch with cash games running 24/7 and it contributes to our soft player pool. Now, WPT Global is a large poker site in its own right and less dependent on the Asia liquidity, and we’re growing our games in US Dollars all the time.
- There is enormous value on offer - our explicit aim is to pay back more to players via promotions and giveaways than any other site. Check out our current promotions here.

Some of you might remember me and my colleague WPT Global Peter from our previous roles. Many years ago, I was one of the first site representatives ever to engage with the 2+2 community, as the first PokerStars representative in the ‘PokerStars Software Improvement Thread’. Later, Peter and I ran the ‘Official MPN - Microgaming Poker Network...’. You can expect a similar level of transparency and responsiveness here. While I don’t promise to respond to every single thing, no constructive question or criticism is off limits.

What countries is WPT Global available in?
Currently, we have a .com licence and have not entered any regulated markets (although we will start to do so later this year). We’re open to most markets that have yet to regulate, including Canada (except Ontario), Ireland, New Zealand and most of Latin America, Asia and Africa.
We don’t (yet) accept players from the US, UK, Australia, Russia, and most of Europe. If you’re from one of these countries and want to qualify for WPT events then Club WPT might work for you!

How does the ecology management system work? Do you ban winners from playing at WPT Global?
Our ecology management system is specifically designed so that we can run sustainable games without having to penalise winners.
In cash games, our AI technology measures the skill level of every player and predicts their win rate. The model is highly accurate and continually updates so that it cannot be abused or ‘gamed’.
We reserve a number of seats at each cash game table for players that fall into one of our ‘casual player’ categories. In our most popular game (8-Handed NLHE with an ante and a straddle) we reserve six of the eight seats for casual players, which effectively means that highly-skilled pros can only occupy two seats.
Because there is plenty of liquidity, if you find yourself categorised as a pro, you can still always find a game to play at any stake, and you can guarantee yourself a seat in a great game if you start a table, since our ecology management system ensures that only one other pro can sit with you.
The system does not categorise players by their actual win rate, but by how skilled they are. If you have a great run of luck, you will not necessarily be categorised as a pro, and vice versa, you will not necessarily be categorised as a casual player if you run bad.
We find that once players get used to the system, they love it. Both pros and beginners have a better experience because we eliminate some of the common predatory behaviour that occurs elsewhere, and pros can achieve significantly higher win rates. I encourage you to give it a try!
What’s with the games in CNY currency?
Because we partnered with Asia-facing poker rooms to launch, some of our games are in Chinese Yuan (CNY) currency. At the time of writing, the exchange rate to the dollar is about 7.25 CNY to the USD. As we’ve become less dependent on the Asian liquidity we have introduced more USD games. Most cash games and all tournaments including Global Spins are now available in USD, and for those of you that want to play in the CNY games, there’s a handy currency converter in the lobby, and the ability to change the stacks to BB.

Played 200k hands on the site. Mostly 25/50/100.
At least if your gonna cut the rakeback, lower the rake 2-5 handed. Offering 20% to start a game HU while doubling the rake is just a bad joke, you should be offering 100% rakeback to those 2 players.

mmm you dont have enough sample on any of those players to have a close look at the true wr, some of them are big winners 100% but probably not even close to 40/100, at the same time you probably have a lot of players on that database underperforming their true win rate for those type of samples thats how variance works...
most of the players here have less than 10k hands and no one even have 25k

also you didnt put de wr in bb/100 i just assumed that those players are winning at around that number but maybe some are winning way more or IDK
The problem is not the fair system, its the groupe of people abusing it.
its not normal that a bunch of people vpip under 25 probably using same affiliates are playing under 1k hands and cash out all their roll non stop. And accounts keep getting created to do the same thing!

Hello everyone, WPT Global has banned me (Shakur) and my friend (ChanceLife) and confiscated funds, accusing us as the same player who is multi accounting. They confiscated ~$16,000 and $9000 They respond nothing to my email request to provide evidence.

In the end of 2022 i came to Bali to live there for half year. Soon i started to play WPT from there. All the time i played using the same laptop and never used any VPN software. I have this computer with me now so i can provide any information or try to login WPT Global using it. Vitalii was in Bali and played too. We were never shared same location to play. He was living 5-10km away from me. When i started to play i provided photo of my rent agreement to WPT. I will post the same file here. I lived in Parq Ubud. They can find exactly the same file in their email. I will post it here.
After Bali i went to Montenegro and played from there for 1 week and got banned. I will provide screenshot of my booking account. I booked a room in hotel in Budva and played from there.
Vitalii was still in Bali that time and played from there. He will post photos of his passport and visas later.
Funny thing that that time any two players from 1 affiliate cant play same table. So with Vitaly we never played any hand versus each other on WPT global but they say that we were broken some rules.
We are not only online poker players. Me and Vitaly played a lot offline poker in all over the world. We came to speak with management of WPT to offline poker series. Vitalii came to WPT Cambodia and i came to WPT Amsterdam. No results. In amsterdam management told me that they will fire me from the casino if i will speak to someone and try to explain my situation during WPT series.
Also we played a lot in Macao. I think many players who plays in Macao might be know us. We played there thousand hours. I will proof it with photos from there.
I made all video evidence to help to make honest investigation but no result. So i want to provide all proofs of our honest play here.

Here are my airplane tickets to Bali and then from Bali to Vienna and to Podgorica Montenegro. I booked them from my email which i used to play in WPT Global. I think that if WPT Global wants they can make easy investigation. For example i didnt play while i had a flights but Vitalii probably played exactly that day. All dates will be match with locations in our log in history. It is easy if they are really honest.

It is best stack forward, so whatever your highest chip count is will go through to Day 2 (the rest will be forfeit). You can always improve, and you will not be negatively affected (ie a smaller stack in a later flight will not replace a larger stack from an earlier flight). If I have not fully understood your question, then please let me know!

Don't be ridiculous, showing samples of 7k hands...What happens after the tables are hidden?
To play without rb and with antes you really have to have a very high wr, good luck I'm waiting for 75k samples
80% of players left WPT over time BEFORE this change, it doesn't take a genius to know why, of course there can always be some winners.
The crux of this is a treacherous decision that stabbed those who helped build the site in the back.
The players who stay know what awaits them. If they win big next... they'll pay double the rake...
I don't even have the patience for this, it's so stupid... the essential question the players should ask themselves is
How much does Alex/owners of WPT earn from the rake generated each month?

It is so easy to spot them that it is worrying that security didn't pick up on it. I keep saying this but a simple fix is just to put a block on new accounts withdrawing who are showing up with reggy stats, not accounts which have evaded being tagged as HSP but accounts which are just obviously not recreational players (i.e. playing 25/16 after 500 hands).
Just regarding the rake. I do think the site should be able to charge whatever they want for their product but I don't understand the motivation behind rewarding table starters. I'm a table starter and there are practically speaking always regs starting tables. I don't see how this makes any difference. Would it not make more sense to reward players who are playing high volume. I rarely leave the table and always try and keep it going even when it is more reggy. Now someone like me is going to rake more than someone table selecting. My winrate will be lower than it would be if I was doing the same as them and naturally I'm going to rake more than these guys as a result.
Why isn't anyone concerned about the real problem a guy posting 2 million hands played on the platform, when WPTG specifically banned huds ? Does everybody know about the 100 plus players being given a warning for using huds ? 90 of them from the same affiliate probably colluding as well ?

They got unbanned and served a warning apparently.
@sortpuz23 how did you import hand histories to PT4? Is It allowed to do so?

You're joking. Being given a warning for using a hud?
Well the story on the hud: integrity team found out around 100-200 players using a Hud, thing that is very nice although i knew from a chinese player that they use huds for about 1 year now and u could have found a hud app on google did not really knew the extent of it till few weeks ago. They caught 90 players from the same affiliate using huds, they decided to warn the other individuals using huds with no consequences and confiscate the money for the 90. After considering the decision they decided they did nothing wrong and gave the money back, this should be public information after the agent crying here that he had agent account blocked and one of the guys from the 90 sharing and mining hands posting he's hand history here. So congrats WPTG on a job well done keeping the integrity of the games alive and again rewarding honesty and integrity on the platform.
So for players trying to go on their own with making accounts you risk confiscation without any reason like the ukrainian guys posted above. For agents that have 100 plus players you might just get away with a warning, no matter what you do, probably that is the reason they do not ban burners.

This is correct.
From what I heard they initially banned and confiscated funds from all players and eventually unbanned those players and game them a warning.
Seating scripts are banned, yes, and anyone using them risks confiscation of their funds.

By risks do you mean get a warning prior. Anyone using a hud or seating script or using a burner account needs to get their funds confiscated. I'm sorry but this nonsense just needs to stop. In the real world, people go to prison for stealing from other people.

First when I started playing my agent told me about the huds but he strongly adviced me to never use It... But at least i was aware that It was happening in some scale..
At some point he told me about the massive ban of hud users but I wasnt aware about the "warning" this a really bad look...
About the sample here I was asking for More info before complaining about It but yeah... Really sucks to see what Is obviusly a team effort AND if they aré willing to this they aré colluding for sure... I mean Its way safer to collude than using huds etc and also More profitable...

Well how can those big win rates be sustained on the platform ? Funny part is that them not being able to stop HUDs and Collusion for months maybe years created such big winrates for some players that they decided that regulars win enough money even without rakeback. So once again a decision that rewards cheating and punishes honesty.
Hand history of few hands(you need atleast 100k for reasonable winrate, with theese antes+ straddles its jumping +-25bb/100 even at that sample probably) doesn't say anything about winrate, but it says that you can cheat on the site for a long time without getting caught, sort players by hands played at least, then you can see what most active regulars earn atleast. If you sort it by winrate you see more than 90% of fishes who just got lucky and don't even play regularly. Also stakes are much higher, if you calculate winrate by bb/100 and compare to other sites, you need to divide winrate by 5 and also consider it as 5x higher stake, 5x more rake, etc...
