Calling guys nerdy as a girl is cringe

Assuming you’re a girl

Perhaps you could look beyond the plight of the imaginary example for illustrative purposes being described as nerdy and instead of being outraged on his behalf you could think about the overall point of my post. Also, I like nerdy guys which is one of the reasons i still post here🤐

so I dont even get why you would say that.

could be worse I guess

begging these ppl to hire literally 1 comedy writer ... there's probably 7894535 of them that would work for a ham sandwich

The real comedy writer was the Biden guy that responded to Trump golf challenge. That was so cringe.

A video edited to show her repeating the awkward end of the sentence out of context over and over has been making the rounds the last few days.

I don’t even really find it awkward. I guess she was trying to be poetic. All those Bs, kinda has a flow to it. It's not bad.

A guy on twitter pointed out that, at this time last election, Biden had a 10 point lead. That along with the odds and what people like Nate Silver are saying, makes it really seem something would have to change for him to get to even a coinflip.

I don't think anyone really knows how Kamala would do, but at some point, it makes much more sense to gamble than to go with terrible odds.

Yes but sooner it happens the better. If they try to do the swap at convention for example it will be too late and I think whoever comes in is just a sacrificial loser. May be the case as is, but at least there's a shot if done this week or next.

by housenuts P

Now you're getting it.

I'm still confused why a competent and fit Biden would step down though.

Because the way politics in US works isn’t based on competence but popularity ?
Junior bush did won twice after all .

You don't think Biden would be more popular if he was more competent?

by housenuts P

You don't think Biden would be more popular if he was more competent?

Yeah, probably. But Trump would be less popular if he were more competent. He has that "people who vote for incompetents" support pretty locked up.

Ha that's an interesting theory

by housenuts P

some people do not understand what being competent means.
half the country think being convicted is being competent.
Or rather half the country think voting against competency to pawn the libs is more important then voting for the most competent candidate .

Biden Jr over here

Biden Jr over here

No idea what this means .
U believe trump is a competent individual ?

Ill take incompetence when running the genocide machine

Vance surging on PI....Seems dumb to go with a MAGA type carnival barker senator when Trump is top of the ticket

I agree but he is the best person for PA/Wisc/Michigan which is all that really matters at this point.

Because it’s demeaning

Because it’s demeaning

No, its not. Theres a better way to interpret my post. Im trying to be helpful.

by PointlessWords P

Because it’s demeaning

As someone who would self describe themselves as nerdy this is way more insulting than anything Bryce said.

(I don't actually care to any meaningful extent but your argument is ridiculous)

I'm not talking about more competent than trump. People can decide their relative competencies on their own.

I'm just talking about more competent in general.

Like I'm confused why all of a sudden Biden has lost popularity that he recently had. What changed?

PW's posting ITF is entirely consistent with someone whose development stalled at around the mental age where someone getting good grades was a good reason to pick on them.

I don’t know any guys that like being called nerds just like I don’t know any girls that think slut is a complement.

Both are words I wish people wouldn’t use to describe one another

I would venture that many more people self-identify as nerds than as sluts. Also, I'm not sure why you thought this was an apt comparison.

Thank you. There is a big problem with guys and women talking past each other on the internet. In my observation with an infinite number of examples to back this up , this talking past each other usually begins by males literally not paying attention to , even on a basic level, or trying to understand the womans point of view but rather subconsciously or consciously dismissing that view as being overly emotional or mean or uninformed when they were really just trying to communictate their own preferences and be helpful leading to a wide variety of gross conversations.

I am trying to be helpful by dropping a number of ideas and hints to help guys do better with women and more importantly in this context be less abusive on the internet, whether that abuse is intentional or not.

Because regardless of how people self identify, they are both slurs that are used negatively

Personally nerdy guys are great for me but I still dislike the effect these ideas have on society.

by PointlessWords P

Yeah, no, they aren't. "Nerd" isn't used as a slur by anyone over the mental age of 12, any more than "bookish" would be.
