Omaha Journey to High Stakes
Hi,
I had previously created a pb&c thread, but since I achieved most of my short and mid term goals I figured a new one was in order.
I have played Omaha for roughly 1.5 years.
Currently in an Omaha stable playing 1/2 PLO online.
Gym, school, poker is my life right now 😀
I want to grind up to high stakes PLO and play against some of the toughest competition.
After I grind a roll with the stable I want to transition primarily to live PLO and maybe also travel for good PLO games.
Primarily things I want to work on are eating more healthy, and not losing confidence in my plays when I am losing.

Playing a bit, nothing of note happening. Plan on getting into 5 card next month, after cooperation with coach is ended. Have a pretty good idea of what it takes to get good at a game, and from what I’ve heard 5 card is in a really good place rn. Expect that my approach will translate really well to 5c.

If you have mental game issues in 4card I would be very careful jumping into 5card. Why do you wanna switch games if crushing? GL whatever you do

Agreement with coach ended, time for focusing on moving up slowly and sustainably! Crushing the games these days, excited to see what I can do with the knowledge I’ve gained.
Apparently 6 card runs on both betonline and stars…. Sounds pretty good to me
Won abt 40BI last week, playing over rolled is the way to go!

Back at 2/5 shots playing 10-12 tables crushing ppl. Goal for near future is play a lot of hours and keep rest of my life taking as little time as possible while maintaining balance.
horrifically bad session vs insane 100 vpip whale at 2/5 dropped 6k today feeling horrible rn... Back to 1/2 for a bit I guess... just can't seem to run well for 2/5 off stake 😀
Ended up battling the game a little bit more, won about 500. Lost a 3.5k pot to the whale though... And another like 3k pot... Really sucks I just couldn't win in any of these 700bb pots... Still back down to 1/2 for now unfortunately, everybody else had 1000+bb except one fish but I could not beat this guy at all... Definitely feel like I got absolutely robbed from my EV in this game... Was about 25k on the table. If I ran reasonably well would have been up ~10k on that table.
Min stacked 1k plo for a whale, got stacked hand before I sat out after tripling up lol. Found another whale at 200s and ended up winning like 3bi overall. Games seem pretty crazy rn. But running kinda bad.

big session we are very much back. Almost had to reload playnow for VIP was down to $35 and my $400 buyin... spun that up to 4.7k awesome night honestly. Running kinda bad at 2.5/5 still but won 7bi at 100s, and 15 BI at PL60 20bb.
Focus for increasing volume is flexibility to play VIP games... Need to be able to stay up super late to battle these guys if it's one of those nights.
Your discipline has gone out of the window since being off stake. All your previous tilt issues seem to be coming back but because you won instead of busting the account you're happy and suddenly no one is cheating any more. Couple of posts ago you said being over rolled is the way forward and now you're short stacking PLO1k and once again boasting after almost deleting your roll. You claim to not be in a rush to climb the stakes again until comfortably rolled so why are you putting your balance down to $35 once again? GL man I do hope you make it but you're following the same pattern as when you blew up your account before

I have over 150bi for main stake rn, I only had 20bi on playnow - and almost had to reload at my shot take stake. Compared to the past where I never had more than 50BI for a stake. And often would play with 20bi at main stake.
Tbh part of it was smth a peer told me that “whale game at higher stake vs HU battle at main stake, one of them you need bigger bankroll. And it’s not the whale game”. That was what got me back in the 2/5 whale game in the first place.
Ie better to minstack 1k for someone losing 50bb/100 than play a bad 200s, from a BRM perspective.
But yeah could have been more clear, sry for the confusion.

Thanks man, honestly a little afraid of the future if I do stupid things, but gradually increasing discipline, and playing conservative roll while I’m in a good frame of mind reduces the damage I can do to myself if I do go crazy.
Yeah never playing HU or 3h unless massive whale or whatever. Just want to reach 2ks on global playing boring 6m with fish and then bridge to HS.
Just lose 4.7k at 2/4 to the whale from yesterday on playnow… every HH looks like - I xr massive pair+wrap+fd, stack off for 400bb vs naked top pair, he magically wins. Every hand he should be getting it in dead, he somehow has 30% and win.. busted account I can’t even win it back now… not going to bother re-deposit on this site honestly, no rakeback and games are mostly just nit fest at 400s. It honestly feels impossible to lose this much in that game. Guy was 100vpip for a while and regularly stacked off drawing legitimately stone dead.
I hate being physically incapable of winning pots at my highest stake, when I’m winning at an absurd amt overall. Oh well, a bit more work to do…
And obviously a ton of the losses were short handed where my winrate is absurdly low. I get the best spot to play vs some guy who should be putting it in dead but just get annihilated again and again I honestly don’t understand. Should be the highest winrate game, but it’s where I am losing the most.
Can you post your 10ish or so biggest pots vs Whale in this session?
Up about 6k today from 11 tabling 100s-500s got around $300 in rakeback which is awesome. Still feel quite upset about busting my playnow acc / losing so much vs whale, but at least ran pretty well today.
Also, have a splitting headache now from 11 tabling. Wanting to play for a couple hours more but taking a break at the least. Would be nice to rathole a bit as well so will take a couple hours off.
No action today games were kinda meh only played for a couple hours. Won like 700.
Have been studying a lot of 20-40bb pre when games aren’t running, very easy once I studied it, but very unintuitive until I actually hit the books. BTN rfi 25% is funny. Should make the 20bb cap games even better 😃

also kinda hilarious how much big stacks have to tighten up once there is one shorty at the table in theory...
what is playnow is it new american site or app or can all of the world play there?
