So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:
a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?
b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

i would argue that the median person does not share you transphobia and simply doesn't have an opinion on this super fringe issue that gets rightwingers in a tizzy.

That's not a super interesting story, either. A majority of Americans are uneducated about what the word gender means and how it differs from the word sex.
We should make a big list of things the majority of Americans are uneducated on. It will fill up more than one article.

Me, living in the USA and occasionally touching grass, know more about typical American voters than you do, it's true. They simply are not interested in bullying people the way terminally online Republicans are.
The manufactured far-right freakout over trans people existing has been a massive loser for the GOP, they underperformed badly in 2022 when they pushed bathroom bills and other bigoted nonsense.

MAGA candidates underperformed in 2022 in some key races , true, but it wasn't about laws protecting minors and women from gender theory effects.
Which is why RDS got reelected with one million more votes than in 2018, going from a 0.4 margin to a 20 points margin, even if in 2021 he banned trans women to participate in women-only sports.

All polls show that people for whatever reason believe republicans to be better "at the economy" than democrats.
And even if polls about the state of the economy improved a tad, there is still an absolute majority of independents claiming the economy is in bad/terrible shape (mostly they claim that because of inflation, when asked).
I think “doing better at the economy” is tough to quantify and it depends on what it is being judged by. Dem policies tend to focus on splitting up the pie closer to what they see as more fair where repubs focus on growing the pie for everyone.
