Is there a reason why the 888 software got changed so many times? Also are people having lag issues again now? There is an issue with heavy lag and freezing the moment you have over x amount of tables. This was an issue a while back but it got fixed from a software update a long time ago. There seems to be lag issues even when playing just a few tables as well. Anyone else have these same issues?

Also, the way the table layout is changed, it's hard to even have hud stats on it anymore. Anyone notice this as well? The very old 888 software was the best. Then the software from a while back that fixed that lagging issues was still good.

Also there is no sound when it's your action. Also certain tournaments have the boxing ring as the layout and you can't change it?


Rake and rakeback issues:

1. Don't trust the tracker or don't trust the rake calculated by a pokerroom.

I was very surprised when I asked PS to send the rake history by a monthly basis for the last 12 months. There wasn't any month when the tracker showed the same amount. (I used pt4 and hm3 too in that period) There was around 1-4% difference between the numbers. (I didn't use the cashout option, basically never)
Anyway, if you want to avoid the extra tilt factor by getting the wrong rakeback, I strongly recommand to generate - in this case - 1,1k or 1150 rake to make it sure you get the correct 35%.
I'm playing here at 888 since last summer or so, and there wasn't a single week when the rakeback was equal to the tracker calculated one. On the other side, the gap is usually tiny, and 888 (or the tracker) makes mistakes in the positive and the negative direction too. (so got more rakeback then expected couple of times)

2. Be careful about the timeframe. In my experience the "rake week" ends at 888 on Sunday 0:00 UK time, so if u play from a different timezone, make sure you filter the tracker database by the exact timeframe too to check the rake.

Your colleagues calculated my rakeback wrong for last week.
I received around 210usd rakeback and I should've get around 360usd as the promotion goes 35% what is over 1000 rake.
Can you help me out with it, please?

Oh, I misunderstood the situation. So they indirectly admit that you paid more than 1k rake by paying 210 bucks. Okay, it is ridiculous.


Agree with you.

1. Tracker may miss some hands, so the rake in tracker should be lower than true rake, hence, you getting more rake than the tracker shows.

What annoyes me is the fact that they somehow recognize that I did 1K+ rake, because of the rakeback I received. This is very tilting.

2. I play from 3-4AM to10PM UK time zone, so shouldn't be an issue with that.


Well it is what it is, I just feel robbed (and tilted as f.).

Like some guy said here, it could be very easy with a progress bar filling in, to show you exactly where you're at.

layout wise the software update is really good. actually there are some things u might want to improve.

1) if someone was on sit out he will be shown all the time on sit out even he sits back in. unless u close and open the table new.
2) its easy to miss a hand since there is no other acoustics time warning before the timebank starts. would be awesome if u could add again the 3 times peep before the timebank starts. additionally it would

2) We need to know how much time bank we have left, if any so we can decide if we can plan or need to rush a decision before being auto-folded.
3) Fix the table felt bug. We can't change the felt color on PKOs which is important to differentiate tables from Classic, PKOs, bubble time, etc

I won't play there again until at least the first two issues are fixed because I found them to be major problems but overall the experience felt much smoother so it's one step into the right direction. I'll keep following the thread.


Sitout bug is ridiculous. Why would u not check the software first before rolling out that update? Or at least immediately fix that bug now that its known?

Typicall case of yet another major pokersite that uses their customers as beta testers for a new software product.

U cant tell me that the programmers and people who check/controll these things @ 888 are that bad in what they do.

New software is a big improvement on the previous garbage. So much so, that I have started to play on 888 once again. It still needs a few tweaks and the old bugs need clearing up such as notes/colour label going AWOL. Although I am using a HUD so still I have valuable data to work on in the event this happens.

I don't know if this new update is too little, too late for the network. Time will tell, I guess.

Summed up 888 claims to have increased the multitabeling experience with the new update, but i seriously doubt, that any halfway serious multitabeling player is content with the situation of having the distracting avatars ( with no option to disable!) aswell as that huge color patterns of the cards, shoved into his face, some extended hours deep into a session.

As in my case i tried to find a solution myself by purchasing a table-theme that enables the removal of avatars, aswell as dowgrading other (colorly) distractions but you rather get the info, that it's not recommended to do this - since it's probably on the safer side to state this, instead of checking the matter of the request seriously.

Unfortunatly thats a very frustrating outcome for me, but i acknowledge it anyways.

I'm playing 4 expensive tournaments, suddenly conenction was lost and I can't connect any more. Are other players affected? Any possibility to get help asap?

on 12.02.2024 at 21:44 GMT I was playing 4 tournaments with the buy-ins of $215, $88, $25 and $22 as I was suddenly logged out. During the whole evening, I wasn't able to login again on multiple devices, despite of the good connection to the 888 server. I was even able to change my password, but still wasn’t able to login. On 13.02. I asked support for a compensation. In the email I also added a calculation of the ICM amount of my final table stack in the $215 tournament which amounted to $1464. For this reason, I asked support for compensation of at least a significant portion of the ICM amount in this tournament instead of the "normal" buy-in compensation.
After sending the email, I didn't receive any support ID. So, the next day, I asked support if the email was received, and it was confirmed by support. But since then, I haven't heard anything for 3 weeks. Could you please escalate the issue, 888rep?
