Omaha Journey to High Stakes
Hi,
I had previously created a pb&c thread, but since I achieved most of my short and mid term goals I figured a new one was in order.
I have played Omaha for roughly 1.5 years.
Currently in an Omaha stable playing 1/2 PLO online.
Gym, school, poker is my life right now đ
I want to grind up to high stakes PLO and play against some of the toughest competition.
After I grind a roll with the stable I want to transition primarily to live PLO and maybe also travel for good PLO games.
Primarily things I want to work on are eating more healthy, and not losing confidence in my plays when I am losing.

what is playnow is it new american site or app or can all of the world play there?

Yeah mostly doesnât matter that much in practice if the short stack is random loose spewy, but very annoying vs some players.

up decent amt like 1k today was just playing 100s and 20bb cap mostly, 2.5/5 and 1/2 kinda sucked. General rule of thumb for me is highest stake (2.5/5) I'm gonna game select pretty hard apart from my no HU or 3h rule. 100s will play most games whatever and 200s will game select a bit but not as hard as 500s.
Min stacked 1k for whale game broke after 45 minutes, up like 300 couldn’t play much yet today school + going rock climbing with friends… will see how games are going around midnight I guess.
-5k today pretty brutal, got on late and tried to start games, ended up with multiple 2 whale tables but couldn't win any all-ins, so we got smashed.
Tapping out from the 20bb tables... Really awesome when running hot deep vs whales, but raking $600-800 on those tables per day isn't sustainable. Almost certainly not +ev when I'm 20bb deep, due to the nature of the rake (1.5/3 20bb cap is raked the same as 2.5/5) so can get crushed pretty hard trying to spin up a stack to fight ppl deep.
Will have to drop 2.5/5 for now, just losing many 2k+ pots this last week. Just want to stay over rolled and not force things to move too quickly.
Honestly feeling quite tilted from how things went at 2/5 think I have very high wr in these games… on the plus side this is a chance to test myself to move down and not be irresponsible when tilted.
On another note, struggling with sleep lately. Have been dealing with sleep paralysis that is following loud ringing in ears (like tinnitus). So when I go to bed and hear the ringing, I get scared that I will enter sleep paralysis and just don’t go to bed. For example last night went to bed at 8am. I don’t want to destroy my sleep schedule like this but dealing with the nightmares and seeing demons is just brutal.
Deposited 12BI onto GG for some MTTs and to try cash and just sent it into the aether… straight down getting it in with 80% gone. Why did I even deposit knowing the superuser stuff? Because global traffic is slow at my stakes rn and ignition is possibly even sketchier. Playnow isn’t running often. Party isn’t running often. For low stakes it’s honestly pretty bleak outside of global right now. Trying to find a way to deposit for winamax, could see that being a good solution to my volume concerns. Sites like ACR, Pokerstars and GG are full of nitty leaderboard / rakeback grinders which is bleh.

Great ****ing week! Opponent clicks it pre, bombs flop and turn and jams riv for 20% pot... If I win this hand I can fold to 3.7k in the satellite. And best part is one opponent on the table was telling everybody to not fold to me when I was short when there were a couple clueless players at the table, that led to one calling me off with T6o and busting me...
On the plus side, finally got onto winamax. Depositing is a huge hassle, hopefully we can just run it up.
Had a good day so far, went to bed and woke up early. For roughly the last year or so, I've always told myself that the nighttime games are the highest hourly. Today at least, this wasn't really the case. But this narrative I've been telling myself has kept me going to be late, giving me a bad sleep schedule. At least with Winamax I can put in good morning volume even if Global is a bit slow.
I had also been running into productivity issues and sleeping in when going to bed so late. Time to start turning that around.
Also, have been feeling really good about my intuition lately, and trying to create logic that fits why I feel strongly about certain spots lets me internalize my feeling and apply it to my game to exploit people rly hard.
Busted winamax account that had ~1k on it... Don't even know if I could have withdrawn anyways, so ridiculous that I can play on the site but none of the deposit methods I can use happen to work... Have to deposit $50 at a time using some sketchy prepaid card thing, but they want me to send over CC details to "unlock" my account...
Playing unibet instead, would consider it an “S” tier site anyways, and peak traffic is west coast morning time which is perfect.

Just lose 4.7k at 2/4 to the whale from yesterday on playnow⌠every HH looks like - I xr massive pair+wrap+fd, stack off for 400bb vs naked top pair, he magically wins. Every hand he should be getting it in dead, he somehow has 30% and win.. busted account I canât even win it back now⌠not going to bother re-deposit on this site honestly, no rakeback and games are mostly just nit fest at 400s. It honestly feels impossible to lose this much

What is playnow rules for USA players? I know youre saying youre done on there but where else is good action? Im not sure if Ive fallen into a rut and not looking the right places but theres just so much less action nowadays than in the past. Ill scroll thru all the network lobbies and only rarely find good 4c games. I despise 5c w a passion but its almost what I am forced to play the most of these days. Coinp will randomly have a half dozen 5/10-25/50 4c tables rolling but its so cyclical. Granted Im pretty sure Im one of the fish that if I sit down the tables will start up, but I try to join other ppls getting bumhunted than myself.

Fwiw I dont think any plo players on acr are chasing leaderboard. Games are good there at 2/4+ but action is slow. Global is the same 10 people total that have been there for years it seems. Ill give it a shot once a blue moon and its the same accounts.

PlayNow is locked to IP address, and need Canadian bank account, Canadian ID etc. I think betonline could have some good games occasionally, but itâs a hassle to sort through anon lobby. Could also try to VPN onto GG / get an account through an agent, itâs kind of âallowedâ afaik. Run the risk of getting banned / confiscated tho I guess.

Yeah regulated is the play it’s so good from what I’ve heard.
acr 100-600s currently has the same bot ring that jnandez busted, just with new accounts… can’t recommend playing there for low stakes but mid to high should be fine. should be some information on that coming out pretty soon.

Bleh busted 22nd / 596 in the weekly 250k gtd Omaha thing on GG… final hand I rfi AKK9ss in MP get 3bet by active player in BB that covers me by a lot 50bb eff… Honestly wanted to fold. I just knew he had aces. But instead was like eh this is theory jam so let’s jam, ofc run into AAQJ and bust. Overall -$400 on MTTs in the weekend, such a dumb format. Need to have more confidence to make big folds. I go with my gut to make big calls and I’m very often correct. But for some reason I ignore my gut and go with theory when bluffcatching.
Feeling like I need to put more effort into studying and improving. It's tempting to be complacent because I am beating Global Poker (lol) for a lot... But my aspirations to be a HS crusher haven't disappeared. But to be honest, my game is sloppy. Was reading someone talking abt playing vs ASG and these HS guys are on a completely different level in understanding of the game. Also realised I strongly rely on reads, which may work for now against lazy opponents, but won't always be a crushing strategy.
So the plan is 2h of focused study time every day. Can be broken up into chunks (30 minutes before a session, 30 minutes after, on transit etc). HS guys are putting in this type of work. If I reach that level it won't be an accident, it will be the result of my hard work. Will keep track of completed days in the blog.
To start, I'm working on MW preflop and MW flops, just to feel a bit more comfortable in some common Global Poker spots. I think one of my unique strengths in poker is information retention, studying is a great way to take advantage of that.
The plan is to go to series this summer with a fat bankroll and print money

Got colluded twice in the same day on two different site!

Second - Unibet 2/4, table was full of "crazy whales" limp calling everything, occasionally putting it in with garbage (but mysteriously hitting every time!). Right after I left, despite this 90vpip guy putting it in pre with garbage and making torching river calls, game immediately breaks. Have been facing a lot of weird back raises on there recently, will proceed with caution and only at 200s max.
Excited for the $500 bounty tmr!
In other news, Global "top reg 2k crusher" totally exploited me here by 6bet jamming AKJ4ss pre. To be fair to him, it's probably only a 7bb mistake preflop. So it pales in comparison to his punt yesterday.
